Although small print in the mailed document does clarify that it is not a bill and there is no obligation to pay unless accepting the offer, the format of the document is in most respects identical to a standard bill. For example, the first few lines identify "annual services" (suggesting to the recipient that some service has been contracted); the bottom of the document indicates an amount payable, instructions for payment, etc. and is designed to be removed and returned with payment, just like a bill. The document provides almost zero explanation about the service allegedly provided (indeed, it appears to assume the recipient is aware of the services with the exceedingly minimal explanation of: "This website listing offer is provided to leading websites throughout the United States to enhance their Website exposure and expose them to new customers through our directory".) Even the corresponding website provides almost no description of the services, no indication of their effectiveness (if any), no references or testimonials of a single happy customer.
If recipients believe it is worth $289 a year to have their website "listed" on this idiotic website--that virtually NO ONE would (or even can) reference in search of a business type/service/etc.--they should pay triple. In my opinion, the deceptive practices are unjustly enriching the company and bilking naive business owners in return for no real value. Given the number of complaints, the "business" has had plenty of feedback and opportunity to modify its practices, but finds the low rating and ire of its audience to be acceptable. Sadly, with a tiny bit of extra effort, this company could offer legitimately beneficial services. The "business" is almost certainly aware of its indolent, money-for-nothing practices, and the opportunities it passes on, so the best one can hope for is to never hear from them again.

12/2022 received what appeared to be a legitimate invoice from Domain Networks for $289. It was paid on 12/30 and deposited by Domain Authority. Shortly after we received the legitimate bill from our domain host. We investigated and it appears we were scammed. We would like restitution.Business Response

I received a marketing / solicitation document that looks like a BILL. This was addressed to my home (residence) and was addressed to *** ******* ***** with my address.
I do not subscribe to an internet domain. I have no affiliation with this so called business. Also, the address was not to my name but to "*** ******* *****", that is not my name. The document is dated 12/28/22 with a website of *************** and a number of # ******* They are demanding $289 for a service I did not order.
I want to receive confirmation from this business that my address will be removed from ALL further contact or marketing solicitations. I also want an apology for this deceptive marketing practice. Will be contacting our Attorney General.Business Response

This is extremely deceptive in appearance, designed to fool the customer into thinking that they are renewing a website domain. One page is a payment coupon while the other page does state that it is for marketing only. Judging by the complaints filed with the BBB by others who fell for ploy, I am not the only one who thinks this is deceptive. I can only imagine all of the others who were deceived and didn’t notify the BBB. Interesting that when you google the name of the company, the top hits are from complaints filed with the BBB.Business Response

I received a billing invoice from Domain Networks for $298.00. I own a website called ****************** and I recently had it updated by my web designer for a fee of $300.00. Coincidently, that was the same price for my legitimate service. I wrote a check out to Domain Networks (which was cashed on 12/22/2022 by Domain Networks at ** ***** thinking that it was the billing department from my web designer, but unfortunately it was a scam. While speaking to my web designer I mentioned that I sent Domain Networks a check and he told me that he did issue the bill through them. Then I called and left a message with Domain Networks at ************ but I did not get a reply. After looking up this company online, it is obvious that I wasn't the only person that was taken advantage of by this fraudulent company. Please assist me in retrieving my $298.00. Thank you very much. I could be reached at *************Business Response

As seems to be the most common reason that others have also written to complain about this company, our church was also misled with a written, mailed solicitation looking deceptively like a bill that's due.
I'm encouraged to read some responses from the company that they intend to conduct business ethically and will refund the complainant. I'm anticipating a fair resolution for our all-volunteer, non-profit organization, too.
I've attached the written letter that we've sent to both physical company addresses and their website contact page.Business Response

The pin code you sent is not working, would you please double check the pin code and email me at *********************** and I will be more than happy to get you taken care of. Thank you to the Better Business Bureau for forwarding this response from the business, Domain Networks. To my knowledge, we did not receive a response directly from them.I’m confused by the reference to a “pin code.” Rather, our original letter included the “reference number” that was taken from their mailed solicitation notice [Reference Number: EWC111186]. In reviewing this, however, I see that we inadvertently left out a single digit (written as EWC11186, rather than EWC111186); we should have also included that this was paid by check number **** from the ****** *** ********* ****, for $289.00, written/sent on 10/15/2022.
Thank you for your attention in resolving this matter and issuing a full refund.******* *******CSL Administrative AssistantInitial Complaint

Misleading solicitation, borderline attempt to defraud. Their so called “Marketing Solicitation” at first glance clearly looks to be a bill. I have read the responses written by Domain Network, all of which have gaslighting undertones This company is clearly distorting the truth, and hoping to make a profit by deception. Yes, there are caps showing “this is not a bill” however, the font size is way small, it is smashed into another sentence.
At first glance this appears like a company seeking compensation for hosting a web-site. It even arrives looking like a bill. No legitimate company presents themselves like this.Business Response

They sent something that looks like a bill from **************.*** claiming I owed them $289 for the "domain listing" for my website. I got through ********, not them, and I'm still paid up through May 2023. They are also pretending to be My Domain with a listed website of ***.********.com and ***.********.com and claim Domain.com as registrar, saying I need to pay a certain amount if I "wish to maintain your Domain listing and keep it active." I don't even know how they go my information and it's extremely unsettling.Business Response
