I have been trying to get a copy of my car title for over 5 years and have been given nothing, but the run around. I tried again during Covid and became so frustrated that I gave up. I am a victim of the ***** Fire and now need to move / donate the car so that I can have repairs done on my house. Even under these circumstances as of today I was told that they would "possibly mail" it to me. Possibly, after over 5 years of waiting. After not having much faith in "possibly" I asked how long it is going to take and was told that there is no answer as far as a time frame. So am I suppose to wait another 5 years and not be able to make vital repairs to my house. This is absolutely unacceptable and I really need someone to assist me.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my ongoing difficulty in obtaining an original copy of the lien for the previous owner of my vehicle. Over the past several months, I have made numerous attempts to contact the company via phone and email, but my efforts have been met with frustration and no **************** Communication Issues: When attempting to reach them by phone, the call repeatedly goes in circles, or I am disconnected when entering the account number associated with my lien. The automated system states the account number is incorrect, even though it is valid, and then the call is abruptly ended.Unanswered Emails: I initially reached out to them more than six months ago and provided all the required documentation, as per the representatives request. Despite this, I have not received any acknowledgment or response to my email.Banks Attempts: Additionally, my bank has spent over four years trying to contact the company without success. This ongoing lack of communication has caused significant frustration and delays.Given these repeated failures to provide the necessary information and resolve the issue, I am deeply dissatisfied with the companys customer service and handling of my case. I have not been able to get my car registered for 4 years because of their unprofessionalism, have gotten a $250 ticket and have not been able to receive notice of tolls. I respectfully request that the Better Business Bureau look into this matterBusiness Response

Thank you for your response. However, I must reject it. I did not receive any lien release in September, and without the actual document in hand, I cannot rely on a future promise of delivery. Additionally, the ongoing customer service issues remain unresolved, leaving me with no reliable way to follow up. I respectfully request further action to ensure a prompt and verifiable resolution to this matter.

Wollemi Acquisitions had our car loan. On 11/16/2022 the company sent us our car title with a lien release letter. This past weekend, 01/11/2025, we traded this vehicle in for a new vehicle, only to get a phone call today that the title is not valid and another title had been issued the same day as the one we were sent. However, the title was never sent to us. I want the correct title overnighted so our local dealership stops calling, or I want them to pay for my missed work as I am self-employed and will miss out on approximately $250. I will have to rescheduled a full day of mental health clients to run to the **** hope they give me a new title, and run it out to the dealership. This will take an entire day to complete due to no fault of my own.Customer Answer

I just called to get a status on my complaint from the company. I was provided a tracking number that they are sending me another lien release. I told them in my initial complaint I had the lien release and it was sufficient. ********************* is showing as the lien holder in the *** system and THEY have to release it now per the new law. I have ***eatedly told them the lien release is invalid as of 01/01/2025 due to the law changing. The customer service *** said I never told them that information. I have the counter person at my local *** as a witness that I said it was invalid and the law changed.
Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. **************** is in breach of contract.

Please accept this response of Wollemi Acquisitions, LLC (Wollemi) to BBB Complaint ID ********. The title for the subject vehicle, Wisconsin title number S5083L063002-5, was mailed to Ms. ********* on or about November 16, 2022 via **** tracking number 390708318522. Wollemi is not aware of another title being issued for the vehicle. If Ms. ********* can provide a copy of this other title or any information about it, we would be happy to conduct a review. I am rejecting this response because:I have called Wollemi customer service nearly daily for over 1 1/2 weeks. The customer service agent told me that another LIEN RELEASE LETTER was sent NOT the title. Lien release letters are no longer valid per the *** due to law changes. Also, if this letter was sent, I have not received it. However, no one EVER verified my address.
I called customer service around noon CST on 12/20/2025 and was told "we are waiting on a response as we have never had an electronic release before." So I do not believe a title was sent to me. I had to reexplain for the 5th time the law change as everyone there seems confused.
Sincerely,

Wollemi Acquisitions, LLC (Wollemi) is issuing this response to BBB Complaint ID ********. We have received additional communication from Ms. ********* in recent days and are working to resolve her issue. There has been some confusion on Wollemis part, as these communications have described different versions of the issue and how it can be resolved. It appears that the *** is refusing to release the lien because Wollemi, which is the successor in interest to the original lien holder, Chrysler Capital/Santander Consumer USA, is listed in the lien release section of the title. Along with the lien release letter from Wollemi, Ms. ********* should have been sent documentation evidencing Wollemis authority to release liens on behalf of ****************/Santander Consumer USA. Unfortunately, Wollemi has no control over the *** if it refused to release the lien despite being presented with documentation that Wollemi is authorized to do so.
In order to address Ms. ********** request, we are working on a multi-pronged solution. First, we have requested that Chrysler Capital/Santander Consumer USA release the lien electronically. Second, we have requested that *************************************** generate a physical release of lien, which will be mailed to Ms. **************** Third, attached is a power of attorney from ************************** Consumer *** to Wollemi, which authorizes Wollemi to release this lien. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:First, I have explained this multiple times to multiple customer service agents at **********************, so MY story has not changed. A lien release letter does me NO good. Also, the *** CANNOT do anything so it is not them refusing to help me. In fact, they have been the most helpful in me understanding what is going on. From my understanding the auto loan industry advocated for this change due to individuals forging lien release letters. So the fact that the auto loan industry is unaware of this law is change seems odd.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse to break the law. I own the car, get cannot trade it in as, essential, Wollemi and **************** have "stolen" my ownership.
Sincerely,
******* *********Business Response

Please accept this response of Wollemi Acquisitions,LLC (Wollemi) to BBB complaint # ********. An electronic lien release was submitted on January 22, 2025. Thank you.Customer Answer

Complaint: 22810737
I am rejecting this response because:As anyone who reviews this communication, they continue to provide copies of a lien release letter. THESE ARE NO LONGER LEGAL. I have explained this multiple times on the phone AND within this complaint. Wisconsin DMV laws state, lien release letters are invalid and unusable as of 01/01/2025. The mere fact that the car was paid off and they NEVER removed the lien was ridiculous.
At this point, they are breaking the law and withholding property I paid for. I kept my end of the contract. They are in breach of contract.
Sincerely,
