Unsolicited FRAUD. Thank God I looked into this before paying this. It may say it's "not a bill", however it's in the EXACT same format as pretty much every bill that crosses my desk. It's truly a shame that there's people out there that do these things, and can sleep well at night. It even has a "RETURN BY MARCH 30, 2025" date on it, which emphasizes the need to HURRY and pay.Business Response

I sleep well thank you.. TRY READING BEFORE YOU ASSUME. YOU RECEIVED SOMETHING IN THE MAIL THAT STATES THIS IS NOT A BILL BUT AN OFER..... BUT BECAUSE YOU DONT PAY ATTENTION YOU WANT TO NOW GET UPSET..
HAVE A GREAT DAY DAY.

Domain Listings LLC sends us emails that look like a statement and it say remit payment. This is very confusing. They are counting on that and preying on the public. They are tricking the public into the service if there is such one. When researching them they offer no way to get off there mailing list. This company should be shut down. They are a predator.Business Response

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS! As with the other complaints, this company deliberately tries to trick you into thinking they you have to pay them to renew your domain listing. And in fairness, farther down, it does say that it is a solicitation. However, it is written in a way that people can get confused and think they have to pay it if they want to keep there domain. What they don't tell you is that you'll get basically nothing out of the $288.00 that they're saying you need to pay. your domain is already online and people will be able to find it, They also in bold letters say ************************* again to try and trick you, In their responses, they'll try and say they're not trying to scam you, if this was the case, why do they write the letter in a way to make people think it's legit? Also, why are there so many complaints from people who paid it thinking it was real, and then later realized that they just got ripped off.Business Response

A credit card charge for $288.00 that I, the cardholder, did not authorize, appeared on my statement. I called Domain Listings LLC to inquire about the payment. The representative that I spoke to was incredibly rude and condescending and did not provide me with information on what the charge was for only that it was "made online". She hung up on me before any resolution was reached. At this point, I have been charged for something I did not authorize and I don't even know what service is supposedly being provided.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: That is simply untrue. I did give you the last four digits of the card and my name and you used both to look up the transaction. At which point you became unnecessarily hostile and refused to provide additional information before, as you admit, hanging up on me.Again, I am demanding a refund. Per the Legal section of your website, I am entitled to one as your website states, "Refund requests made 30 days or less after the payment is sent will receive a 100% refund."

I am writing to report false and misleading advertisements, marketing, and scammed invoices from Domain Listings Directory based in *********. When these bogus invoices arrived in the mail, on 9/17/24 and 11/4/24, our finance employee was deceived and duped into believing that these were legitimate invoices that needed to be paid, immediately. This was accomplished by listing our domain name, and the billing info at the top. A check in the amount of $288 was inadvertently paid on 10/19/24, and again, on 11/22/24. We were scammed out of a total of $576.00. We have never signed up to be listed on any domain-listing directory, nor would we ever. I contacted this business in an attempt to receive a refund, and the woman was rude and hung up the phone. We wish to be removed from this business listings and refunded the full amount ASAP.Customer Answer

BBB,Please investigate and take action against "Domain Listings" regarding a mail scam. Context / Background / Details - Our non-profit organization (************************************* Hampton Roads Chapter) has received at least two SCAM letters within the last year from "DOMAIN LISTINGS." - Attachments include images of letters they sent - one in August 2024 and the other in January 2025 (this includes two images - the front and back page of the 1-page letter). - "DOMAIN LISTINGS" has formatted the correspondence to appear like a bill. - An internet search indicates this is a common theme. Here are a couple of websites regarding this SCAM, including a legal office:********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** - In addition to reporting this scam to both the *** and BBB I attempted to submit a "Do Not Contact Request" to DOMAIN LISTINGS. Ironically, despite multiple attempts to submit the request, the DOMAIN LISTINGS website responds with " Message not sent - potential SPAM detected." Reference the last attachment.- There appear to be multiple SCAM reports with DOMAIN LISTINGS. I kindly request the *** take legal actions. - Simply removing recipients who report this SCAM from the "DOMAIN LISTINGS" distribution list will not suffice protecting future organizations from receiving this SCAM letter.Thank you for your support.**** ***** Board Member ************************************* Hampton Roads ChapterBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because it is disingenuous. See the first attachment. I highlighted the part of the letter that the response makes reference to. Notice the location (near the bottom, buried after a lengthy paragraph) and the font (the lightest font in the entire letter). I receive similar letters from reputable organizations. They always put a similar statement in BOLD, at the TOP, and in ALL CAPs. Many other folks agree with my sentiment (reference the links I provided in the original complaint; there are dozens more). Multiple members of the non-profit organization I serve in agree with me and applaud that someone finally took action. The second attachment is a screenshot with the applicable and relevant portion of the business response highlighted in green.
I recommend the BBB provide a copy of the letter to multiple folks who do not focus on these types of issues and survey their thoughts.
Lastly, I kindly request you provide a copy of this correspondence to the FTC.
Thank you,
****
Sincerely,

We received a letter from domainlistings that, as others have alleged, intentionally presents itself as an invoice for new/ongoing service. It is clear that they hope the recipients of these notices will accidentally pay domainlistings for their bogus service; or at the very least, open and read their unsolicited solicitation instead of throwing it in the garbage like all other junkmail. What stood out to us is that they claimed to be selling a domain that we already own and use. We find this tactic insidious and shameful.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: even though the letter does not explicitly say they are buying or selling our domain name, the terminology heavily implies that this is the case. Judging by the other complaints this company has received, this is a widespread and well-known issue. It is my belief that they are either dangerously incompetent or outright malicious.I appreciate that they have removed us from their mailing list, and intend to file an additional complaint for every similar invoice/advertisement that I receive, whether from them or a similar organization.
