The company billed me on Sept 7, 2023 for $288 and I contacted my bank to dispute the charge and was credited back $288 while the investigation was pending. The phone number provided for the DomainListing in 2023 did not work and I could not get in contact with the company. After a few months, the bank closed out my case and I kept the refund. Now, out of the blue the company charged my account again for the same $288 on 9/9/2024 without my permission. I contacted my bank and disputed the charge but this time my bank reversed the charge. I called them and they told me to contact the company and I told them that I did not have a number to call. After my third call to my bank, I received a phone number which is ************. I called on 2/4 and 2/5 and the number has a recording stating "phone support is not available and send a chat". I DO NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING AN ACCOUNT OR EMAIL ADDRESS TO CHAT WITH ANYONE. The phone number does not work and there is no other options to contact the company. I will need to close my business account to keep this company from fraudulently charging my account without my permission. This company needs to be fined for annually charging client's accounts without a subscription or permission. I do not not what services they are billing me for because I DO NOT HAVE A DOMAIN LISTING.

I run an all-volunteer association, ******************************** in *********, **. Per other complaints, our organization received a very misleading "invoice" from Domain Listings LLC that appeared to be a renewal for our association's website domain. We were charged $288. I am reporting false and misleading marketing acts by this organization and want a full refund. I called their office and the women I spoke to hung up on me almost instantly when I asked for a refund.

I'm sorry but it does state in big bold letters that THIS IS NOT A BILL.

I will submit this for a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: While we appreciate that you are "submitting this for a refund," we will only accept your response after these items have been completed: 1) we receive the refund; 2) we are removed from your mailing list; and 3) our organization's listing is completely removed from your website. In other words, not only do we want "Verified" removed, we want to not be listed on Domain ************'s website in any manner. Thank you for your swift action.

In November 2023, we received a misleading bill from this company, who had mined data about my small business from public records sources. They were "posing" as my domain listing company and their letter stated that my "annual listing" was due for $288. I unwittingly paid this bill online, thinking it was my regular website domain fee. After paying, I realized that I had been scammed and went to my bank to dispute the charges. The bank did not approve the dispute, and I presumed it was because I went to their site and paid them voluntarily, even though it was under misleading/false advertising that I thought I needed to pay them. I let it go and took it on myself for allowing myself to get scammed, and ignored all of the other multiple of pieces of mail I continued to receive from these scam artists. When going through my bank statement for November 2024, I saw ANOTHER charge on my account, which I definitely did not authorize or initiate, for $288.00 on 11/04/2024. I called the number for the business ************ and when the lady said "how can I help you" I told her I need help getting my money back from them which I did not authorize them to take. She hung up on me. I called back several times and she hung up. I used a secure connection to visit their website (I was hesitant to even go to their website because it is a scam and I didn't want to get hacked or scammed again), and discovered that there was an account set up with my credit card in it. I assume this happened because when I initially fell for this scam in 2023, I thought I was logging into my LEGITIMATE web hosting company and I gave them my credit card information but I DID NOT AUTHORIZE any other charges other than the initial scam charge in 2023. I deleted my credit card information from their website and canceled my "account" that they claim I have with them. I never intended to do business with this scam company and I certainly never intended to have an account with them. This is fraud and a scam.

This was a on line payment/account that you set up, that is why your card info is on file. What we send out is an offer for a website listing. No refund will be made for 2023

Domain Networks sent a flyer advertising "Website exposure" services to the **************** of the Nazarene three times between August 1 and December 9 of 2024. Each of these flyers were designed so that they would appear to be an invoice. The format included a "please remit by date", A box with an amount to be paid, the implication that the payment was for the domain of the church's website, and a line indicating "please make checks payable to "Domain Networks." Although the flyer includes language indicating that the flyer is not a Bill, our bookkeeping staff did not read that language carefully and sent three payments on 8/12/24, 9/30/24, and 12/9/24. We dispute the payments on 2 counts 1) because the flyer implied we owed the money and 2) the "service described in the lesser font on the page describes a 12 month service which purportedly we would have purchased on 8/12/24, however, the apparent "invoices" were sent within weeks of the supposed annual subscription and the company kept repeat payments.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. I emailed the customer back asking for proof of payment to issue a refund. We only charge $289.00 for our services. So, the other two charges of $288.00 would not be affiliated with us. I am happy to issue a refund. I need their information to locate their transaction. Also, to clarify - The letter they received is NOT an invoice but rather an offer to join our online directory and you are not obligated to pay. The letter is part of a marketing campaign for our service. We ARE NOT a domain holder; we maintain a directory of the country's leading websites. The payment of $289 covers a full year of listing in our directory and is 100% optional.

    Thank you,
    Domain Networks

    Complaint: 22663536

I am rejecting this response because:
As I explained in my original complaint, although the flyer from the company does state it is not an invoice it is written in a format and uses language that makes it appear to be an  invoice. As to their request that we must provide proof of payment, we have submitted to BBB a summary of payments paid to Domain Listings on three occasions, printed from our church's bank. We can further verify these payments to BBB. Please indicate the type of verification BBB is requesting. The company continued to send these deceptive communications to **************** of the Nazarene even after we had, according to them, already purchased a one year service from them. These repeated communications appeared to our bookkeeping staff to be additional invoices. Finally, the company's claim that  they are not associated with a charge of $288 is clearly false. Their flyer sent in August 2024 includes the language "Please remit payment...by September 10, 2024, with an indicated amount of $288.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. We are Domain Networks NOT Domain Listings. We are NOT affiliated with them. Also, I asked the customer for proof of payment because in our systems we have no record of them making a payment to us. If they did make a payment I would like to issue a refund. Thus, I need to have their payment information to achieve this. I informed the customer we ARE NOT affiliated with ********************** and that they need to contact them regarding those payments.

    I apologize for any confusion.

    Customer Answer

Thank You for assisting us with the complaint against Domain Listings. My purpose in sending this message to BBB is to clarify what we believe is important in the outcome of this complaint. Once we became aware of the deceptive communication received from Domain Listings I contacted BBB. You are the third BBB office with whom I have had communication. I have learned that this is because Domain Listings is a network of similar organizations legally separate, but coordinated in their strategies and in their efforts to target vulnerable organizations. Our church received three notices disguised as an invoice between August 2024 and December 2024. Our bookkeeper paid funds to what she perceived as the entity sending the notice.  I have attached a screen shot of my search of our church's checking account, looking for expenditures paid to "Domain Listings". The Bank shows three payments between August and December.  I have also attached two notices we received from a "Domain" entity. One asking for checks to be paid to "Domain Listings" (August) and one asking for payment to "Domain Networks" (December). I was unable to find the notice received for October, though my bookkeeper tells me that it followed the same format. My point is that even though these notices were technically from different entities (the business addresses were different and the second word in the business title was changed) nevertheless, when the bookkeeper coded payments as "Domain Listings" in all three cases the funds were accepted. I am not a legal expert, and it is possible that these "companies" have legal deniability. As I understand the response you most recently received from "Domain Listings" they claim to only have knowledge of the initial transaction in August and are offering to refund the portion of whatever they deem to be the "remaining service" we paid for in August. Frankly we would like to ensure that this business ("these businesses") be known for their deceptive advertising used to  prey on the unwary staff member who is simply trying to do their job. This is a more important outcome for us than the refund of some minor portion of the substantially greater total we paid to them. If accepting the small refund they appear to be offering will indicate by your records that they are conducting business in good faith, we would rather reject the offer and indicate our continued complaint that some entity named "Domain" received payment made out to "Domain Listings", kept it, did not contact us about an incorrect payment, and continued to communicate with us as if we owed a monthly amount (yes, I realize with deniable disclaimers in the longer text) that deceived our bookkeeper.

I am rejecting this response because I have explained that the actions of Domain Listings are clearly misleading, predatory and intended to confuse while maintaining technical deniability.  The pittance of a refund offered as opposed the the amount we have paid under false pretenses does not begin to compensate for the intentional confusion inflicted. We reject the highly unsatisfactory compensation offered and wish to make it clear that we wish the record to show that Domain Listings participates in dishonest business practices intended to deceive.

Every year we receive a deceitful, junk mail advertisement that looks like an invoice we owe money for but we don't. We do not do business with 'DOMAIN LISTINGS', never have and never will. I am rejecting this response because: I would like to speak to upper management because *** told me she was the supervisor . I would also like a call back with a personal apology from *** for hanging up on me 3 times and my President of my organization one time. *** is rude and has no respect for the customer.

I would also like to know my refund amount for my organization.

    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: *** is the rude person in this situation and I would like it documented on your website that this business is not consumer friendly. They take your money, in my case $288 and refuse to answer questions from the consumer and refuse to put you in touch with upper management of the company, Domain Listings.
I also cannot understand how the person, ***, whom I am complaining about is speaking for the company when she tells us in her own words there is upper management.

So no, we are not satisfied.

    Sincerely,
