Purchased a wood chipper via Lowes for Champion Wood Chipper. It work great with *** parts. When the blades became very dull, I order replacement blades directly from Champion. The blades were sub par made and no where near *** quality. *** blades lasted ***** hours without issue, sharpended and lasted another 10 or so hours. Wanted a spare set, so I ordered directly from Champion. These blades lasted 10 minutes before they broke in half, shooting out the machine damaging the shoot, the wheel and housing.. Blades need a immediate recall. Champions response is to blame the customer and not honor thier warrenty on Labor. They did offer parts warrenty. They need to recall these blades and start making them with quality like thier *** blades that shipped with the wood chipper. These replacement blades are beyond sub-par and near gross neglegence before they cause human death. I attempted to ignore the gross neglegence of thier **** poor cheaper made blades, ****** it to a repair shop they instructed me to bring it to and because I left out some bolts so I could match them out at hardware store for spares did not honor warrenty on labor... I simple want them to honor thier warrenty. A 2 year warrrently on Labor and Parts, after 4-5 months they failed to do this and as a direct result from thier sub par making of blades. I am absolutely disgusted with them. %100 thier fault for making a cheaper replacement blade which should be recalled before some ended up dead. Thier repsonse is to blame the customer and not honor thier warrenty on labor... Completely unacceptable. They should be honoring thier warrenty on labor, fix assemble line and make better same quality as ***, and give me an *** spare set like I wanted and giving me a $200 gift card for not killing me. Even if I get this back I am too scared to use the subpar replacement blades. I will be sharpening the *** ones and throwing the the replacement ones in the trash. It just not worth death from thier neglegence

Please close this out, The ended up approving a return. But they still should look into the quality of their replacement blades otherwise it's going to get someone killed and end in a mass causality recall.

      I appreciate BBB assistance

I bought a brand new, not refurbished, generator from Camping World. I bought it on sale. I got it home, put gas and oil in it, went to start it and it wouldnt start. Manual in the box states it has a 3 year warranty on a new machine. Called the number on the paper like it started. They said since I bought it on sale at *************, it doesnt come with the warranty. Camping World wont take the machine back because I put gas in it. It shouldnt matter that I bought it on sale, its a brand new machine, it should come with the new machine warranty, especially since the piece of garbage doesnt even work right out of the box.

Purchased Cabela branded 9000 watt generator in 21.Set it up, tested. read manual. Cleaned and stored it. Got it out and tried to use it for the first big storm a few months later. Wouldn't run, tried to start wouldn't run. **************** says - put new gas in it. (the gas was from a gas can and was approximately 2 months old - with fuel stabalizer) ********** and put fresh gas, still didn't start. Friend uses it for their wedding next door - can't get it to stay running. I apologize, dump the fuel get it started 4 times in a row in an effort to drain it. we go to use it later in the month and it wont start, customer service says clean carb - so we do. still wont start, Go to try to use it a month later, and it doesn't even try to start - customer service says charge the battery - so I charge battery. Still doesn't start. Frustratedly leave it sitting, and then go to use it during a power outtage, and am told need fresh fuel. put fresh fuel, doesn't work, clean carb - okay. Done, still doesn't start, dump the fuel and make a note to get it checked out. Couple months later I go to use it, and it doesn't even try to start. At this point I've wasted $145 in gas, and $25 in oil. They say the carb must be clogged, and to clean it - hired a small engine mechanic with 23 years experience to clean carb. He takes it off, cleans it till it shines and put it back on. STILL DOESN'T START. **************** then tells me to take apart some wiring piece - to disable a sensor in the oil pan. Well outside standard maintenance. This does not fix the problem - i demand they repair or replace unit- you tell me to take it to Northern Tool - an hour drive away from me. Northern tool has had it for a month. Northern tool blames carb - says it can happen from old gas in under a month. The gas is just over 5 weeks old - has fuel stabalizer in it. THEY HAVE HAD IT FOR A MONTH .... NT says Champion wont pay for the repair b.c it maintenance. IT WAS DONE.

March 15, 2024 Friday On June 29, 2023, I purchased from ********** online, a Champion Power Equipment 1638 power station model ******, order # WJ35742760 for $1,398.53 total, after my military veteran discount. I have made repeated attempts to use the power station and have not been able to use it due to the following electrical shock and power hazards caused by the Champion power station:-Fans run constantly 24 hours non-stop without anything plugged in to the power station.Fans should stop at some point and never stop running causing the power station to overheat.-Power station battery discharges very quickly just sitting without being used. Battery does not last,-Very thin 2 prong, un-grounded, power charging cord with no ground pin gets extremely hot when charging the unit which I am unable to touch because the power cord is very hot.-Solar cable is a shock hazard has exposed electrical powered connections when connecting one solar panel as the other two connections are open and exposed with LIVE electricity since there is no cover to protect me from this hazard.-The power station now shows FAULT in red on the *** #3 port.RESOLUTION: I am requesting a REFUND, not a replacement since this has a 2 year warranty.I would greatly appreciate the help from the Better Business Bureau to obtain a refund of $1,398.53 to my credit card, original method of payment ending in 1401. Thank you.

I have owned 3 champion generators in past three years. all used in the exact same location. first one lasted over two years and the muffler fell off. I thought it was a pretty good value so I bought obviously a quality control issue. I still have the first one in my garage. The second one was traded in under warranty.I got a third one. It was approximately two months old burst into a violent fire, almost trapped me in my camper. I had to jump through a wall of flames. I hit the ground, broke my thumb. I had six extinguishers on hand state police arrived with three more. We were able to hold fire back into FD got there. Champion has been going back-and-forth with me for almost 6 months the first ***** ****** had totaled up the damages and offered a settlement first a replacement unit second I believe about 2500 then ******. My number was ***** I was told they were a caring company and would take care of this. I did not charge for any lost time for work. I have not charged for hotels, because **** ****** was unsafe and unusable afterwards, I use my camper for work purposes and I sleep in at 25 days or more a month. The only thing I asked for was compensation for new generator replacement, tools, tires, etc. I have been more than fair considering I couldve lost my life I open the door and it was shooting flames 10 feet in the air. It sounded like a flamethrower out of the gas fill cap Theres many other complaints about champion generator fire it was horrifying watching all my tools.burst into flames even with six fire extinguishers All I could do is slow it down. I was told around Christmas time that we were close to settling. It shouldnt be a problem to settle before Christmas. Silence for weeks ***** a supervisor ******. Contact me and offered me 3000. Then 5000 I have been way more than fair about this that he claims he goes to insurance no claim number no contact numbers silence again I write every day and ask for the above and the supervisor

      Customer Answer

      Date: 02/25/2024

Yes one sorry for the many typos. I was using text to talk

champion has all documents,All the receipts. I have the emails offering up to 5 thousand, the 10 thousand was verbal when I was told by ****** that anything over 10k goes to insurance at this point I had lost so much time and money I said.  Ok Ill settle for ten instead of the ****** except for one letter brushing me off to insurance to which I have repeatedly asked for a claim or contact number it could have been settled right there for 10 grand which I was offered 60 days ago !! Fire **** clearly stated cause of fire generator. Nothing on a boat trailer mysteriously blows the generator up , if a wire has a short it pops a fuse that generator was the ONLY THING on fire when I opened the door to my horror And it was blowing out the top fuel tank fill they tried to blame ME knowing I had 3 generators all the exact SAME in the SAME location for three years ! Not once did they ask to come inspect the unit I have paid to store or the first one take measurements nothing if I slept another ten minutes Id be dead the smoke and heat was horrific I have the video of the aftermath.

please I want to put this behind me. They went from negotiation to silence . Who does that ? Champion.  ****** ********. They have all the proof and other generators in their line have blown up and Id bet probably used the same components and they just dont care if you die or not.

I bought a model ****** new generator and it arrived this week. I live in a forest homestead in the mountains and a generator with parts and technical support is absolutely vital -- it is over 100 miles round trip to the nearest substantial town and I live and die by *** and companies with products that have parts and tech support available. This company has severe IT structural problems. Their parts databases were recently migrated and is performing unacceptably -- someone needs to be fired over that. I was an IT pro and I would have been fired for that.Trying to reach customer support for parts or technical support is impossible for me. The only lines that pick up are...(wait for it..) SALES ! I bought the generator solely based upon the claims for customer service, parts availability and lifetime technical support. This far in the hills when it snows and if the power goes out -- like last week in zero weather -- I will be in danger quickly. Hence I have to spend about 60% of the purchase price of any vital equipment for spare parts and servicing supplies. That I cannot ever fail to do because one insubstantial part I don't have on hand can have dire consequences if I am snowed in and emergency services cannot reach me (heart problems). For critical equipment I always put manufacturers to the test when I receive it new -- especially companies like Champion Power Equipment that brags all over the place about superior performance in customer service, parts and lifetime technical support. The scenario I use: If power dropped NOW -- can I pick up the phone and get a part on the way within a reasonable amount of time via priority shipping ? I always figure I survive a few days until the part I need arrives. I can have such parts shipped to friends who are not snowed in and they'll get it to me with a 4-*******. Champion Power Equipment failed in every respect. Now I get rid of this and find a better brand...

I purchased a Champion dual start generator in September 2021 through Amazon. It has a 3 year warranty. In June 2023, the electric starter quit working. I called the warranty company at the number listed in the manual. All was good; Champion chose a local business fir me to take the generator for service/repair. I took it to the place they selected; Small Engine Repair in Pearl *********** which I three towns away from me. I had to find someone with a truck who was willing to take it there. I took it there on July 12 2023 and it is still there, hasn't been fixed yet. I've brought this to Champion ******************* several times. They say it will be ready on a particular date, but it doesn't happen. I've spoken with a couple of other people at this shop and they also have had problems getting things done. The reference number assigned to my request from Champion on June 39, 2023 is 657232.The equipment is a a dual fuel portable generator. Model number ****** / ******. Serial number ****************************** contact number fir the warranty is ************.I do have several emails from them regarding this problem. I can try to forward them to you if necessary . Please help.I've already lost power one time since the generator has been in the shop. The Amazon order number is 111-2101253-1788234

This is my first time complaining to bbb in regards to champion generators, BUT, this is my second attempt at purchasing one for my business. (Mobile dog grooming) Both have been sub-par. Especially to START. They try to tear off your arm, won't start even after following the instructions to the t. Which causes them to flood. I have complied with regular maintenence & still have the problems. People can't run a mobile business with equipment like this. I'll never purchase another champion. The first was one with a battery. Current one doesn't have one. Both times champion WOULDN'T help me because I couldn't find my receipt ************ this time for the same reason. I was only able to give the model, serial # they stated because I didn't register it they wouldn't help me, even with repair.
