On 1/17/2025 I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC stating they are trying to collect a debt for ****** in the amount of $298.00. Back on October 3, 2024 I received 3 charges for $298.00 from ****** to which I disputed with my bank because I did not make those transactions and I do not have a ****** account. I called my bank and was informed the investigation was completed and I was refunded as it was a fraudulent charge so was instructed to contact ******. I called ****** to which they state they do not have an account for me and are not familiar with American Coradius International LLC. I believe this is a scam trying to get me to pay or call to obtain my information or payment. I want to make sure this is not affecting my credit and ask they remove this fraudulent account.Business Response

On 1-10-24 I received a letter in the mail from american coradius international llc stating they are a collection service for ******l and are trying to collect a debt. They letter was addressed to me but my name was spelled incorrect on the letter. It said I opened it on 11-21-24 with amount of $128 and then then 1574.25 were additional charged making my total 1703.06. But I never opened credit with ****** in any way. So I called ****** and they checked using my SSN and reported that I DO NOT have an account with them and they advised me to report this and not send anything to this company as it seems to be a scam. I was relieved ****** was able to check into this. However I am outraged that a company like this that is supposed to be legitimate is able to do this to so many ppl as I have seen several other complaints of the same thing. These poorly ran companies do nothing to check the accuracy of what they send. I will still be monitoring my credit report and have my credit Frozen now. I still do not know why this was sent to me and would like some clarification from this company.Business Response

I received a letter from ACI stating I had a balance due to ******. After extensive conversations with ****** and ****** credit they verified there was no account under my name or social security number with a balance due. I called ACI with this information and they verified the account was under an email address that was not mine. However, they told me they could not proceed with removing this account from my name "because I live in California" until I filed a Police report with California and submitted information to an email address **************. I asked them to put this information in writing either via email or through postal mail and they informed me they were "prohibited from putting anything into writing". That does not sound legitimate.
This appears to be a very common scam as I found hundreds of other accounts of individuals receiving these fraudulent letters. ACI is obviously doing nothing to help consumers who are being scammed.Business Response
