I purchased my Steelcase Leap chair back in October of 2021. When it was shipped to me, the package was destroyed and the ************. Their T&Cs state that I should "refuse the shipment," which I would have done, except they did not require a signature so the chair was dropped off when I wasn't home. When I contacted them, they made me submit a claim with ****** to which, the store needs to submit and/or verify the claim; you can't do it as the consumer. After much back and forth, I finally got them to send me a replacement. They did not send me a new seat, they sent me a stripped down part of just the exact piece that was broken. Steelcase doesn't even consider it repairable at that point. It's now one year later. I'm having an issue with the recline feature. The chair sticks and doesn't recline or reset cleanly and gets stuck. I've tried to grease the chair multiple times and contacted Steelcase directly. I sent Steelcase a description of my problem and a video of my problem. Steelcase said the chair is defective and that it needs to be replaced under warranty, however, I would have to go back to where I bought it, since this store is considered Gray Market. I provided the store all of this information, and asked if she could help with a warranty claim. I was told that a warranty claim was already submitted. When I inquired as to what claim (since I had not submitted any warranty claim), they stopped responding. *** now tried to contact the company five times via email and left a voice mail over a 3.5 week duration. Ive had no responses. I get the automated response that they received my email, but they will not respond to me. My last email I sent asked for them to verify that they admit to guilt for failing to honor their warranty and providing false and fraudulent advertising as it pertains to their warranty; I have not received a response for 3 business days.Customer Answer

Ordered an office chair from SeatingMind.com on their website Sp 29, 2022. I have done business with them a few years ago - no problems. This time - the order was never fulfilled. Kept telling me it was still in process. Finally I requested refund and cancellation on Nov 2 2022. They informed me it would take up to 2 weeks to issue refund. On November 21 2022 - I contacted them again and they apologized and processed refund through PayPal. I checked PayPal and saw a refund was issued but it was pending. Then on the PayPal website it said that the refund payment had failed. I contacted Seating Mind again - no response. I am attaching emails and orderCustomer Answer

On September 16th ************************************************ the office and was immediately sent a *** tracking number. I expected the chair would ship in a timely manner since the tracking had been provided and I was not told of any issues or extended lead times. It is now November 11th I still have not received this chair which has already been charged to the company credit card for $1000. I requested to cancel the order and get a refund and was sent an email stating my chair had shipped they could not refund me. I asked for the *** and the reason it took 2 months and was given a snarky answer that the chair is a $1000 chair because it has to go through rigorous testing etc.... I was given a firm *** of 11/17/22. I am pretty sure this company is a scam. Most companies do not charge your card until the item actually ships. This was charged back in September.Initial Complaint

I bought a used ************************* ************ chair with Posture Fit support from Seating Minds. I received the chair. The Posture Fit appartus is supposed to be only partially installed. They sent with it fully installed. As a result, there is a part which prevents the back of the chair from being connected to the base. I have email and called several times asking for clarification of how to remedy, or to return the product. The business is not communicating with me.Customer Answer

Ordered a chair for $500 on Jul 27th 2022. It arrived with the following issues:-Box was heavily damaged--holes, scrapes, tears--and had a black tar-like substance on it that stained our carpet bringing it in.-the chair itself was mostly outside of its packing material--just loose in the box which likely explains the damage -the wheels/casters literally were filthy--hair, dust, dirt and grime in all of them -the left armrest mechanism was broken -there are dents/scuffs/chips on the lumbar wheel and recline tension wheel (looks fresh)-the gas lift is quite worn and has practically no grease so it clunks whenever changing the height -one of the little slips for the base that was taped on was cracked I've been going back and forth with them via email demanding a return and full refund, but they just keep coming back stating they'll send me the parts to repair the chair myself, which is an insane thing to expect of a customer. I even asked to be partially compensated if I were to have to repair the chair myself, but they refused. I'm prepared to box it up and ship it back for a full refund w/o restocking fee as I'm returning it for qualifying reasons, but they keep just redirecting me or blatantly ignoring my concerns. I've never had to do this before, so it's a pretty egregious situation to get me on this platform to file a complaint. I'm attaching a copy of our email thread thus far as well as the photos of the damage I sent them.Thank you in advance for reviewing this complaint and I hope I can get some resolution soon.Customer Answer

3/29/22: purchased a chair for $458.00 USD 4/8/22: chair was delivered damaged and clearly not 'refurbished' as claimed 4/12/22-4/22/22: emailed back and forth with customer service who agreed to accept a return for the item due to the damage 5/11/22: reached out to customer support because I haven't received my refund and received this response: "Unfortunately due to recent technical difficulties we are having an issue with processing your refund on time. I have tried to issue your refund but due to a glitch the refunds are not going through. We are working on fixing this but at this time, it may be quickest for you to open a dispute to get your refund. "8/24/22: I believe I've sent 7 emails to customer support in total, and they will no longer return my emails. This is the last response I've seen: "There has been a glitch in our processing system that has disabled us from being able to process refunds right now. We don't know how long it will take to figure this out, so it would be best for you to contact your credit card company."Initial Complaint

Ordered two ************************* ************ chairs, one size B, and one size C on May 20, 2022. Order *****, paid by ****** MC. They posted the charge. According to the chair company website, normal processing of an order takes **** business days. When the order was placed, their website stated the chairs were in stock. They printed a *** shipping label, complete with tracking number. I set up an account to track the progress on the order. Time wore on, no product arrives, no communication from customer service. Did the whole back and forth email chain, pleading and complaining to get them to ship. to Fast forward to today July 13, 2022. Received ONE chair via ***. Box is damaged, but the chair seems in tact. However, the SECOND chair is still languishing at their warehouse in **, *** Tracking number ******************* And now their website states the order is COMPLETE. All I want is the product I ordered and paid for in good faith. Never before has an online order company been so inept and difficult to deal with in my experience.Customer Answer

It only took almost 3 months to receive the product I ordered. 14 emails back and forth once a week after the initial time they specified to ship on their website. They never mentioned any interaction with the BBB. I honestly don't think they care.
