On Feb 1 an atm was used at ***** ***** in orchard park ny. The atm spit out the money and then sucked it back in faster than I could grab. $300 was withdrawn from my non M&T account as well as a $3 charge to use this machine. I called M&T only to be hung up on, called again was told to call my bank…ok, but my bank did not steal from me. Called my bank they opened a dispute that can take up to 10 days!!! I called M&T again gave my name and number still have not received a call back! This is completely unacceptable! There are cameras on ATMs you would clearly see the money was not taken. Get someone out there to check. I should not have to wait nor be charged for my money being straight stolen! Now I am out $300 until this can be fixed by an institution that literally has nothing to do with a malfunctioning ATM owned by M&T! Banks are so fast to charge you for mistakes you make with your account, but let them make a mistake you get NOTHING but waiting a ridiculously long time to have your funds returned. My bank Ally was contacted. There is a dispute open with a 10 day business day investigation that needs to happen. I think this is unacceptable. M&T has to balance Atms they KNOW they didn’t give it. If rolls were revered and it spit out too much money I’m sure that would be correct in hours not days. I get zero communication from either bank. Because this is an error with M&T I strongly feel again there is ZERO accountability they want a bank that has nothing to do with the transaction investigating. My bank account was hacked and I was not notified by the bank I found out by saying zero balance in my account and they denied me the money back they shut the app off because someone hacked into my on line banking
They said someone opened a Zelle account and sent money to themselves I have never heard of Zell and never used it before and they tried to not let me pull the rest of my money out they put a hold on it I had to fight to get it back this is unacceptable and I want my money refundedBusiness Response

On October 7, 2022, my employer, ***** ** *** ****** ******, sent my paycheck of the amount of $2,237.02 to a wrong account. I notified ***** of not receiving my paycheck on October 12, 2022. ***** informed me that I would need to reach out to my bank, Chase, to have this fixed. Chase informed me that the money went into another Chase account, and that ***** needed to request a recall of funds through their bank, M&T. ***** stated that M&T would not do this, and that I needed to work with Chase to get my money. I have had this issue escalated with Chase multiple times and given them the transaction number from *****, pay stubs, dates, etc., but they have told me that they cannot send the funds back to M&T without a request from them and that they cannot move funds from someone else’s account into mine. ***** and M&T are continuously refusing to resolve this issue.Business Response

Since 2022, HRA(Human Resources Administration) a government organization has been contributing $79.50 every two weeks, which is 159.00 a month to my Home Equity Line of Credit Account.
Those payments from HRA have not been accredited to my account for payment. I told them their payments sent to M & T bank are not being accredited to my account, so where are the funds/payments?
In addition, M & T bank has also been receiving monthly payments from me, and month after month my Home Equity line of credit account balance remains the same, even though, technically they been receiving two payments every month for a year to the account ending in ****. I’ve been making payments on my Home Equity Line of Credit account for almost six years, and my balance owed remains the same. I don’t believe any of my payments in last six years have ever been accredited to my account.

I also have proof of other unscrupulous practices, such as, demanding that I pay them extra payments on my account that was up to date in payments which as unwarranted; demanding payments and wanting me to notarize a supposedly official documents sent by someone with no last name(i.e., Barbara L.); this went on for months.

since 2021, not my mortgage account that ends in **** which has been up to date
since the year (2008) I purchased my home. I see that M & T bank is attempting to evade paying the
reimbursement of 2,702.84 that I requested. They are now wanting to
accredit the monthly payment of 159.00, they receive from HRA to my mortgage
account. This is not what I requested and not what the funds were allocated to
them for. So, they are basically admitting that they have been receiving
the payments all along and were not accrediting them to my HELOC account ending
in 4998. As
I have been requesting as a the desired outcome is the reimbursement of
2,702.84 for payment I made to my HELOC account, while M & T bank had been
taking the payments, and not accrediting the account with funds received from

I became an M&T customer in the merger with Peoples United Bank. Last October, I received a credit card offer from M&T Bank offering a 0% rate on purchases & balance transfers for 18 months. Since applying and being approved for the credit card, the amount of incorrect information from at least 4 DIFFERENT M&T representatives has been unacceptable:
1). I was told the 18 month / 0% APR promotional period will commence from the date the 1st transfer is initiated. I later found out that the 0% APR starts when the card is first approved however I did not receive it until end of December
2). I called into M&T and inquired about a balance transfer on 12-17-22. I told the rep that I was looking to do a balance transfer on a Line of Credit and was told I can either use the convenience checks or they could do it for me over the phone. I wrote a check for $1,200 off the credit card to pay my equity line. The check was returned unpaid and I incurred fees from my other bank. I later found out the convenience checks are for cash advances, which do NOT qualify for the balance transfer promo.
3). On 1-11-23 I called into M&T and completed a balance transfer over the phone with a representative. I provided all necessary information after he read me the disclosures. I was told "the transfer is all set, should take 7-10 business days to post and I should continue making payments in the interim." I called into to M&T on 2 separate occasions to check the status and was told the transfer was in process.
4). I called into M&T on 1-25-23 as the balance transfer had not yet posted. The M&T associate told me the transfer did not go through and transferred me to a supervisor (John). After speaking with John, I was informed balance transfers can only be used for credit cards. I had already consolidated multiple credit cards onto the Line of Credit to perform the balance transfer and this is the EXACT opposite of what I was told when I first called in to inquire about the credit cardBusiness Response

I am a veteran and construction worker and due to the Covid pandemic work has and continues to be very slow. As well as my son and his mother both getting it twice over the past year which forced me to take time off work, I have been out on workers compensation since Sept 2022 for an injury sustained on the job. Because of these reasons and the rising prices of everything, it quickly became very tough to make ends meet.
I spoke with a friend of mine who suggested I look into a forbearance on my mortgage so I called M&T Bank on the 28th of November 2022 and spoke with Kevin (employee #010852). He asked me some questions and told me about the forbearance process. He informed me that I could take a forbearance for up to 6 months and that my options for paying the money back were to either, pay it back in full at the time I ended the forbearance, which is not an option for me right now. That I could do a loan mod/refi and tack the dollar amount owed onto the end of my loan term. I asked him if that would affect my APR and he informed me it would, so that is not an option since current rates are much much higher than what I have. The third option he told me of was that I could pay the amount, in full, at the end of the life of the loan OR if and when I sold the house, which is an outstanding option for me.
I repeated what Kevin told me back to him to make sure I had it right. He confirmed.
Fast forward to January 18th 2023. I called the bank because I got a notice of delinquency and wanted to make sure everything was ok. During the conversation I was informed that the option I chose, was not something they offered. Eventually I spoke with senior rep, Bob ****** (ext 8506) who repeated what the first person I spoke to on the 18th said. He informed me that he was sending it to upper management so they could listen to the original phone call. I asked for someone to call me so I could listen to it as well. That was 10 days ago and have yet to get any sort of call back.Business Response

This bank has refused to send me or communicate with me about fraud on a loan modification, they also refuse to send me a copy of that loan modification. They are receiving payments from the loan modification paperwork that I didn't sign. I didn't authorize this bank to use my name or my credit for that loan modification. They have refused to give me any contact information for their fraud department or the closing department. SUBJECT: UNKNOWN LEIN ON PROPERTY/ **** ***** **** *** **LOAN#***************** SENT: Mailed Certified Return Receipt Requested Dear Ms. E******, Per attached letter dated November 30, 2022 my request was for a discharge of mortgage for the 3ra Mortgage in the amount of $39.461.40. I requested this information in writing on or before December 7, 2022 so that I could submit the correspondence to Niagara County Clerks Office to have the lien of $39,461,40 removed from my property. However, after several visits to M & T Bank on Main Street in Niagara Falls, New York, Ms. **** M*** was not present due to being out of the office or on vacation. I finally received this notice on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 that was handed to me in an envelope by the Assistant Manager ********* B******* This letter that is dated December 7, 2022 does not complete my request because it only discharges the amount of $20,000 leaving a balance of $19,461.40 of a $39,461.40 lien. My mortgage was paid in full on January 14, 2013 and this included the Home Equity loan that was taken against my home in the amount of $2,500, therefore there should not be any remaining balances. SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR DOCUMENTS CONFIRMING ZERO BALANCE LOAN# ***************** SENT: Mailed Certified Return Receipt Requested Dear Mr. S*******, Per your letter dated February 7, 2023 I would like to confirm again that my mortgage was paid in full on January 14, 2013 and this included the Home Equity loan that was taken in the amount of $2,500, therefore there should not be any remaining balance. In the 5th paragraph on the first page, you stated "we have determined no error occurred." The error occurred when I was aware of false information listed on my "Mortgage Search" of $39,461.40, and also stating that I have an open mortgage, and original mortgage $20,000. The original purchase price of my home was $16,000. The loan amount was not $20.000 as indicated in your corresoondence letter. Also, I do not recognize the signatures as my own on the "Personal Loan Note and Mortgage of Real Estate" papers. On page (2) of your letter, you stated that "M & T Bank sincerely values our customer relationships and is committed to providing the highest level of quality service." You also, stated that if I have any additional questions or concerns to call Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. I called the number listed today at 3:50 p.m. and was put on hold transferred through several Banking Agents, Roger, Angela, Nicole, Hanna, Heidi and Aimar who spoke to her Supervisor Alex, who stated that Brian S******* was not available. I did not receive the highest level of quality service, my request and questions are still unanswered. I am requesting a new letter from you stating that the mortgage was paid in full and there is a zero balance owing to M & T Bank. This should satisfy the Niagara County Office to produce a new "Mortgage Search" letter resulting in the following: 1) CLOSED MORTGAGE 2) ********* *****. I’m co-signer of a vehicle. The primary owner wasn’t notified that the vehicle was going to repossessed. I spoke with a representative to let them know when the buisness owner was getting released from the hospital ti give them a call. The buisness owner said he never received a call and that they would not allow him to speak to the M&T representative since his name isn’t on the documents. The owner is the sole owner of the buisness. The owner received a letter in the mail stating he has 15 days to redeem the vehicle. The representative stated he only had 5 days. The letter clearly stated he had 15 days from the time the letter was sent out. While trying to resolve the issue. I called several times to speak to the person who sent the letter MR. H***** I called and left several message and email to get clarification on the letter sent. The owner decided that he would pay the fees that day instead of continuing to wait for Mr. Hardy the manager of the repossession dept to call back. This is around 4pm. I was told that he left early for the day. I told Valeria another representative of M&T that the business owner would like to pay today to get it over with. She stated that they were closed call back tomorrow. Called back the next day trying to get clarification he stated (MR. Hardy) regardless of what the letter stated he only had 5 days to pick up, that vehicle will be sent to the auction,. I went ahead to pay the fees and I notice it’s after 4pm, a different representative stated they don’t close until 5pm. I told the representative I could have paid for the vehicle yesterday instead of incurring a charge. Not only did they charge a storage fee but they charge an additional 160 dollars on top of that when the vehicle could have been paid for yesterday. Fees are paid now the place were the vehicle is stored at doesn’t take same day appointments. They don’t have appointments until Friday. I was told M&T I could pick the vehicle up same day. I spoke with the representative and told him to contact with Mr. ****** and gave him specific time and dates on when to call. They did not try to reach me on several occasions. The problem is the owner of the vehicle is not able to speak with them because they are not choosing to speak to him. His buisness is **** **** ********** and is registered in his business name. He should be allowed to speak with them on all matters of this account. I am just the co signer. The denied him access to the account on several occasions as he tried to reach out to M&T bank, it’s recorded. Ice made it know to them that he is the owner and that he should be allowed to be speak on behalf of this account. The representative lies about the storage fees and the framing was nasty. That’s why I asked for the phone call to be reviewed. The company on which the vehicle was being held at stated their was no additional charges. I asked the lady M&T representative if she could please call and confirm she stated she could not and refuse to to verify the amount when I was told THEY where not charging. M&T representative lied and charge and additional fees stating that it was because the holding company charged a fee on which they did not. The added additional charges knowing you can only pick up your vehicle on a specific day and not the day they choose for me to pick up the vehicle. Listen to the recording of the phone calls the proof is all there. They’re charging people people unnecessary fees. I’m regard to this account speak to the owner ***** ****** if the account is delinquent. As I stated once before I am the co-signer not the owner of the vehicle. I asked them also to correct this.

On 1/10/2023, I received $500 debit for a check cash returned that was not transacted by me. I decided to take this matter to a local branch near me which was in East Hartford, CT on Main Street. I spoke with someone on the customer service side, and after numerous calls to different departments they made, to researched this information, it was unsuccessful. We weren’t sure if someone was fraudulently using my account so they went ahead to do an investigation and had me filled out a claim form so I can temporarily get the credit back into my account which I never received. I had to notify them that a couple of transactions were coming through which I wanted to make a deposit, but we agreed that we would wait until further investigation was made and that reimbursement would be given if any fees took place.
I did get a call back the next day. After they had further researched it, stating that a teller accidentally did an error which cause the deduction on my account. A WITHDRAWAL I did on 1/5/2023 was taken from someone’s else’s account. So they “corrected” it by debiting it as a “check cash returned” we were not aware of this. The correction should have been made as checking withdrawal correction/error not returned check cash. No phone calls were even given in regards to this.
Due to this huge error it caused two of my transactions to be returned and getting $20 fee for each transaction totally up to $40. I have been in contact with the East Htfd branch and Glastonbury branch in CT(Stop & Shop). I’ve spoke to the Glastonbury branch manager, Benjamin and two supervisor in the call center. No one is getting back to me in assisting me further for their error. They through accusations at me and told me they’re not responsible when it was THEIR error. Those transactions got returned due to their error not mine. Im seeking legal matters next if not reimbursed due to being neglected, provided false transaction statement and the monetary damaged this has cost me.Business Response
