M&T bank lost my electronic release of lien for my car loan. I payed off my loan through United Bank and this was lost when M&T bank took them over. Now my car has no title and I can't get the title because the lien can't be released. M&T bank frequently hangs up on me when I call customer service to resolve this issue. This should be illegal. I've been trying to sell my car for 6 months but I can't without the title. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get this title.Business Response

I had a collateral loan with Rockville Bank which was attached to my certificate of deposit, when M &T took over the balance was less than 200 again still secured by the cd. I would transfer funds online never received a bill from M & T . I went online and all the sudden in December it had a pay in full date of 10/16/22 again never received a bill or statement. It’s now December with a balance of 170 and the loan is past due (they have the right of offset) I paid the balance in full 12/6 as I had no idea the entire loan was due. They reported me to the credit bureau. Original loan credit was never pulled and simply secured by my account. No bill no statement nothing saying the loan was due. I want it removedBusiness Response

MT bank has severe issues when it comes to posting balances when it promises to. I had two refunds equaling about $500.00, that should be deposited by this date. My desired settelment is a check for the same amount as listed.Business Response

0n 01/08/2022, M&T sent someone to repo our travel trailer. A payment on 11/17 of 250.00 was made then an additional two payments were made in December 2022. M&T stated that we were 60 days late in NOV even though we had made a payment during during the that month. This resulted in the attempt to repo and a negative reflection on the account. Not only was the repo attempt mortifying but my children were present and also was worrisome for them. Then, we realized that the mistake was made to the credit bureau which only heightened the frustration.
0n 01/09/2002, I made multiple phone calls to resolve this issue to no avail. They paused the repo, but refused to help with resolving the false report to the credit bureau. The tone of the supervisor was undermining and concerning for someone in his position. As a customer, I am requesting that credit bureau needs to be notified of the mistake for myself, ****** ******* and my wife, ***** *******.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. The company has posted that payments were not made august - November. They have also added that it was 60 days late twice during that time even though there were payments made. As of today, 1/9/2023, my checking account is in the hole because for the SECOND time in 3 years, M&T bank double-drafted my car payment. When it first happened in 2021, they claimed I had scheduled two payments (i didn't). THEN they demanded I provide a confirmation number on my payment. Since I didn't make note of it, it was put on me.
This time around, I have my confirmation number of payment, and find it oddly convenient that I cannot get anyone on the phone to dispute the transaction with M&T. They are predatory and NEVER work for the customer. Also, on their online payment portal, they'll mark record of canceled payments but there is nowhere to check pending payments. If you don't have a paper trail they wash their hands of your issue.Business Response

I got a paid advertisement with my name on it today in the mail.

I have had a M&T Visa Credit Card for over 10 years. For 10 years I have never made a late payment. 99% of the time I pay the credit card off in full each month. I have a 800 credit rating and M&T raised my interest rate up to 17.24 percent. My wife also has an M&T Visa Credit Card and her interest rate is 14.24 percent. I called M&T bank on 1-3-2023 and asked why my credit card interest rate was raised to 17.24 % and my wife's M&T Visa Card 14.24%. I talked to Maleney and she said she would try check into lowering the interest rate. Sundenly the phone call was disconnected. I called back, I didn't get the name of the next representative, and she told me my interest rate was raised because the prime rate was 7%. I asked her why my M&T didn't raise my wife's interest rate which is 14.24. We both got our M&T Visa Card around the same time. The representative told me my interest rate was raised because the prime interest rate was 7% and then she said "THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE." I never got an answer why my interest rate was 3% higher than my wifes
I pay all the bills in my household. I pay my wife's M&T Visa Card and I pay my M&T Visa Card for 10 years. I am only trying to get an explanation WHY my interest rate is 3% higher.Business Response

Put a fraud hold on my business account without any notification or explanation. The only thing I can get from customer service is that someone will contact me in 7 to 10 business days. I'm out of business until then with no idea why. If you are going to temporarily shut down someone's livelyhood you can't just leave them hang with no notification or explanation.Business Response

While I completely understand holding a deposit until it could be confirmed there was absolutely no excuse for completely locking the businesses account and not being able to provide me with an explanation when I called. Much of my business is emergency repairs on commercial gas and refrigeration equipment. If a customers refrigeration system went down during this time I wouldn't have been able to get parts in a timely manner and they would loose thousands of dollars worth of food product likely resulting in insurance claims. I thank the woman I was eventually able to speak with at the end of the ordeal but even she couldn't explain why the entire account was locked. Regards, ***** ***********

We, unfortunately, had our loan sold to M&T and have yet to have a good experience. So far today I have spent 2+ hours on the phone with reps and on hold. You guys cannot get your website to work. The straw that broke the camels back was today, after holding for 45 minutes, Tim in the fraud department put me on hold for 10 minutes to unlock my account, but didn’t do it and when I asked for his supervisor he hung up on me. Currently on hold for the 4th time today. Absolutely so disrespectful of my time, which is not free, and here I am wasting it again because your company refuses to hire ethical employees with integrity. Cannot wait to refinance and get the hell away from your company. Please has someone with balls and brains call me back to get my online account working. I cannot access my online account. I’ve reset the password, I’ve done everything they told me to do. I’ve waited on hold for HOURS for their tech support/fraud and they have yet to have someone fix the issue. Instead they all treat customers like trash and hang up, expecting you to call back and wait on hold for more time. They are absolutely disrespectful of customers time and overall.
