      0 stars if I could. Today, my lien was finally released. 60 days after payoff! Despite 6 phone calls to M&T and many promised calls back (never receive one) - I guess M&t got it right on their 6th attempt? Or they were fraudulently keeping the lien. Your call - but I would stay far far away. I’ve already lost a potential sale due to their incompetence and inability to follow the law.
      Oh cherry on top which I was going to overlook because I hate complaining about companies - when I established the loan a few years ago, they sent the check with one one of two required signatures from m&t - required me to complete the loan process again. Horrific.

      Looks like the standard comment that y'all use to shirk any responsibility at addressing the issue (or any issue on the website) to the public. I give you 100% permission to provide payoff date and loan release date here publicly so that people can decide to do business with you or NOT based on the facts. Please advise on what paperwork / permissions we need to complete so that you can publicly post my payoff date and the date that M&T released the lien.

      This bank was unprofessional and neglected some of my unauthorized claims.. each time I saw the monthly charges on my statement I would call them to fix it and they would say it was fixed, but the next month the same charges appear. They then change my card and closed the account, but the unauthorized charges continued. Finally they claimed I was over the limit of disputes and closed my account without my knowledge, charged me for expenses, causing my SSI income to be rejected. They ejected me from the bank and shut down all my accounts. At this point some of my deposit and refunds are not found since my online banking was also ceased. They treated me like a criminal.

      Used ***** money transfer at M&T in the past successfully but about 3 months ago every transaction in or out was being flagged as fraudulent. Had to call and wait on the phone half hour each time for it to be fixed. Kept asking if it was fixed and each time told it was. After pressing the last rep i spoke to, was told there was no way for them to know why my transactions were being flagged and they did not know who to even ask.
      If the company cannot control its technology they should not offer it. This company has been in decline for the last several years. Suggest you take your business elsewhere.

      If I could give 0 stars I would. I do not make this comment lightly or without cause. I originally had People's Bank which was a great bank with few issues. Once M&T took over, I have had nothing but problems. Most recently I deposited a check written to me from My Father's credit card company (he also has an account with M&T. I waited a couple days for the check to "Clear" before paying the bill for which the check was written. The payment went through, and I thought everything was fine. I woke up to an alert from an outside app on my phone that my account was negative by over five thousand dollars. I had 1000.00 in my account prior to the deposit/bill payment. I contacted the bank, and they stated the check had been returned for non-sufficient funds. I called my father who in turn called the credit card company from which the check was written, they stated each check can only be for 6000.00 and since the check was over that by 500.00, they did not clear the check. I then deposit a check from the same company for 6000.00 and a check from my Fathers M&T for the remainder of the amount needed. I notice that my account is still overdrawn, and I cannot access any of my money, not the thousand that was in there nor the 3500-tax return that was deposited by the IRS. I call the bank for a fourth time, and I am told that they will email the fraud department and get back to me. It has now been 8 days that I have had no access to any money in my bank account, no response from M&T except a letter I received 7 days after depositing the check stating they are not releasing the funds of the 6000.00 check because they do not believe it will clear. I spoke to my father who reports the check cleared his account several days ago. Just imagine you are left for 8 days with no money. They bounced my car insurance payment as well during this time. I was actually told on one call that not to call back because there is nothing else, they can do for me.

      Ever since my local bank was acquired by M&T I have had nothing but problems. Extremely poor customer service and communication. It seems that everyone I speak to gives me different information than the last. I would never recommend anyone to bank with them.

      M and T stole over $100 on three separate occasions. They claim it was "legal fees," then tell me in order to get my money back to contact the department of Tax and Finance, knowing the department of T and F will send the "letter" they claim they need. Their customer service line is a joke, all they do is lie and patronize you until you go away. M and T will steal from and LIE about it. Find another Bank, forget this establishment.

      The customer service at M&T Bank is horrible. And their online banking site leaves alot to be desired. Had our company known how bad this bank is, we would have never done business with them. We will be moving to another bank as soon as it's convenient for us.
      Do yourself a favor and find another bank to work with.

      Way to go M&T Bank! Your email to me indicated you want to discuss my concerns and yet you provided me with your automated messaging system call in # instead of an actual person with a phone # who can actually HELP me. Obviously, this bank has no idea what good customer service is.

      I reiterate; find yourself another bank to do business with. This bank is abysmal. I've never seen anything like it. "Together we won't"

      On Tuesday, May 7th, I attempted to use my M&T Checking Account to make a purchase for food but was declined. Confused, I contacted the number on the back of my card and was informed by a representative that my account was frozen for unknown reasons and that I needed to visit a branch to resolve the issue.
      The following day, Wednesday, May 8th, I visited the Nottingham Branch at **** ****** Rd Nottingham Maryland 21236. I spoke with Alisha G****** who explained that my account was frozen because I needed a business account. As a Sole Proprietor in the State of Maryland, I am not required by law to have a business account and have operated without one since 2004 without any issues.
      I expressed my frustration at the situation and suggested opening a business account, but was told that the process could take over 24 hours. This was concerning as my regular bills were set to bounce without access to my funds. When I inquired about closing my other two accounts, Alisha became agitated and asked me to leave, threatening escort if I refused.
      Feeling helpless, I left and sought assistance at another branch where a staff member informed me that all three of my accounts were now locked due to my intention to withdraw my funds and switch banks. Understanding my predicament, the staff member unlocked my accounts and provided me with certified checks to access my funds.
      Although I believe it was unfair to lock my accounts in the first place, it felt personal for Alisha to further penalize me by locking all my accounts when she knew my bills were at risk of bouncing.
      On Friday, May 10th, I tried to send my daughter $400 from ***** to resolve the previous issue. However, M&T Bank blocked the ***** transaction due to suspected fraud. She had to contact M&T Bank and clarify that the money was from her mother, not a business. I am concerned that this could be a deliberate action against me and may be causing problems for my daughter's account.

      M&t bank is well aware that their customers are often unable to access accounts both online and thru their phone app and they don't fix the issue. Try any other bank, you get to their site then login quickly, not m&t. See all of the bad reviews and bad ratings, they don't care
