      I was disrespected and screwed around with by a women named Jess, who did not have a last name, from the fraud department over the phone. I was unable to make a transaction with my M&T debit card and she claimed she assisted me, however, she did not. I gave her all my personal information and she gave me a difficult time by asking for more information, when I already gave her the information. She was incapable and unable to connect me with a supervisor or someone else who could actually help me. She acted unprofessional and should not be working customer service.

      Hi John H******,
      Now we can see the importance of keeping up with a portal and most correct information. The most lacking information has led to these exact issues I asked you to help avoid. Absolutely a headache for me. I really don't have time to be babysitting a leasing company. I appreciate all your help in our beginning but this negates everything for us. Never had this problem with any other leasing co.

      Please update us as we are curious about your information. As stated before, a ******** ***** was paid in full. We gathered a final amount for this machine and paid THAT. We know the difference in seasonal and a payoff for an entire lease. I am absolutely furious that we are going through this the more I think about it. I will be looking into this further for positive action on my end. I have battled this company for around 1.5 years asking to avoid this very scenario... asking for utmost accurate information. We Have been ignored and seen as a non priority to fix info. Now we are here with my exact thoughts carried over to the present, from then. I will not tolerate being bullied into more money for items already paid on! You need to get with the exact individuals I spoke with when making payments and kindly get back to me once you've made the correct communications with those individuals. I appreciate your patience, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Specifically we asked for final pay off quotes!!! The portal was never updated... nothing was. I will be taking a route to start a process of dealing with this legally, right away if this is not cleared up fast! We have 2 machines paid off that you are disputing!"

      I had a checking account associated with a savings account that I opened with People's Bank 46 years ago. M&T bought Peoples Bank and took over on October 2022. Consequently all my accounts were transferred to M&T.
      I received a letter dated March 29, 2024 stating that they closed my checking account due to inactivity. They never sent me any forewarning that they will do this. My last activity was on October 30, 2023. This is barely 5 months of inactivity!!! Other banks wait at least 3 to 5 years.
      Another bad experience happened when I tried to link M&T account with another Bank so that I can make a external money transfers between them. Every time I tried to set it up online I was locked out of my other Bank. I was finally told by my Bank that this keeps happening because they do not have a good relationship with M&T Bank!

      M&T Bank put an unauthorized hold on my checking account and started bouncing checks and charging my account fees for the bounce. There is pleanty of money in my account. They won't release the hold unless I personally come into the bank. Right now I am in a Convalescent home, and in a wheelchair because I can no longer walk. In order to get to the bank in person I will have to hire a medi-van and an aid to transport me, this is a costly adventure, which I do not feel is my responsibility seeing they are the ones putting an unauthorized hold on my funds. In the meantime I can't pay my bills. **** ******

      After paying off loan that was in both of our names they refuse to give me my information from my loan that I requested and was told they would 3 time. Lied to and not fallowed through on there end. Now I’m black listed and kicked out the app and customer service u willing to resolve the matter. Please don’t use this M&T bank!!! All I really needed is email confirmation of loan paid in full but NO! My info and customer verification isn’t good enough. Don’t use this bank!

      I would give 0 in rating if possible as well. M&T Bank is refusing to apply our back payments to our account. We pay all our back payments as instructed by them and after receiving our fundings, they still goes ahead and send our file to the foreclosure attorney and i think they are trying to force us into foreclosure. All payments were made. i think We currently have to hire an attorney to get involved.
      they have admitted to having received our money, but they are not applying it to our principal and bring our account to current. They are openly admitting that different representatives of M&T are giving different information about our account. This is not the only story we have heard about this bank as well trying to force families into foreclosure. It is sickening, and pure wickedness. i would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER advice anyone to trust their home with M&T. Bank

      Unfortunately this terrible bank took over my mortgage. They told me I had to find homeowners insurance. I ALREADY HAVE IT. The insurance company didn't know a new mortgage provider took over, so they needed to update it. I tried telling this to M&T, but it was impossible to reach an actual human on all their CS numbers. After about 30mins of menu pressing, I finally got a human. I then get transferred to THREE different people for a simple update. I don't know how they have an A+ rating

      We have been ordering from ****** for 15 years using my husbands debit card. He recently got a new debit card and now M&T has decided to put a fraud alert on this card everytime we attempt to use it to order from ******. We understand errors happen but when you speak to the customer service fraud dept you do not expect them to lie to you and say the problem was fixed when it was not handled.. I have spoken to them 3 different times without a valid explanation or a permanent fix for the problem. The last customer service agent, Lee Ann offered a temporary fix with an override but it doesn't mitigate my aggravation or time and effort over the last MONTH of trying to order over the internet because of my husband's disabilities!!
      The 1st representative lectured me for 10 mins telling me that in our household we can never use each other's debit card, is she for real or what??? If she was properly trained there are many unique and unusual situations in households across the country but she was making a judgement based on her limited intelligence of financial matters.

      This bank stole $2800 out of my family’s account. They knew it was their mistake but told us there was nothing they could do about it. We are still trying to get our money back. Do not use them!

      Worst Banking experience in my life. Ruined my credit and due to a repossession caused by their incompetence. Mailed the makl to wrong address and called from spam 1 800 numbers,leaving 0 messages. Continued to play with my account by not letting access to online banking or not taking phone calles or returning calls after leaving messages. They are the crazy ex girl friend of the banking business. Totally operated like a high school kid was in charge. STAY AWAY!
