1 starHi, my name is ********************** On 06-20-23 I booked on Expedia.com Economy travel class tickets for Lufthansa flights ******-******* via ****** ( LH **** & LH ****) for 4 people ( our relatives with friend).Each of the 4 people had only one checked bag for dropping before plane boarding. According to the Lufthansa Baggage policy for Economy travel class tickets the 1st checked bag is Free of charge. In the ****** airport the customer service worker told them that they have to pay for their checked bags. In order to justify Excess charge the airport customer service worker instead assigning the one checked bag per passenger and not charging them for that bag, assigned all 4 checked bags to our grandson - 17 years old minor ( I do have a proof for checked bags charge).The charge was in the amount of ****** PLN or $73.53 USD per bag with total amount of $294.12 USD.That charge was in violation with Lufthansa Baggage policy for Economy travel class tickets and it means that Lufthansa Baggage Policy falsely advertises on their website that for Economy Travel class tickets the 1st checked bag per passenger is Free. 1 starI traveled on July 6, 2023 from ****** with 2 pieces of luggage (I paid for an extra bag). Both bags had been filled with new clothes and gifts for my family which I travel to visit once per year. The bags were to be checked through to ******* and I received my luggage tags and was on my way. Despite numerous delays, my flights arrived in ****** and Lufthansa failed to send the luggage with the flight. I filled out a report and waited. 5 Days Later, 1 of the 2 bags arrived and I received some of my belongings. In the meantime, I did have to get incidentals and clothes, to which Lufthansa reimbursed my costs on 1 of the 2 approved claims I filed. I am still waiting for the rest of the approved reimbursement. While in *******, I was constantly having to call Germany and talk with Lufthansa staff, which were unable to do more than file my call while your airline searched for the missing bag. These costs also came out of pocket.At one point, the staff tried to tell me the bag had been sent to *******, to which I went down to the airport, again during my vacation and family time, to go and look through the lost and found at **************. I could not find my missing bag, nor could ****** staff as they also searched. When I called Lufthansa and asked for some documentation that the missing bag had been sent, the personnel retracted their claim that the bag was sent and again were searching for it. Beyond this, I had to fill out a contents list, follow that up, and send that in further taking away from my time with my family. I am now back at my home in the ***, and your airline is still looking for my missing bag.The final straw came on my trip home from *******. When I arrived in *********, I was placed on standby even though I had purchased my ticket months in advance. Your airline made me purchase an upgrade of ****** USD for an economy plus seat in order to ensure my place back home.Review fromIH H

1 starDisappointing Experience with Lufthansa Airlines - Lost and Damaged Baggage My experience with Lufthansa Airlines in January 2023 was nothing short of disappointing. Upon arrival at my destination, my checked baggage was missing, causing immense inconvenience and anxiety. Days later, I received my damaged bag with some items beyond repair, clearly indicating mishandling. Reporting the issue to customer service yielded little help, and countless follow-*** led to no resolution. The lack of communication and support left me feeling unheard and unimportant. As a loyal customer, I expected better service and trust from Lufthansa, but this experience has shattered my confidence in the airline. I urge them to take immediate action to address the situation and compensate for the losses incurred. I hope my feedback will prompt improvements in their baggage handling and customer service to prevent others from facing similar issues. 1 starFlight with family to Germany. Lufthansa lost my suitcase with my meds and sleep device. Explained I was a disabled vet and was essential to find the suitcase. Took them over a week. ****** promises and documented guarantee of reimbursement to costs incurred. Shopped 2nd hand stores when I could and kept the cost just over $400.00. When I went to pick up the luggage, they couldn't find it for over 40 minutes, causing a parking fee. Told not to worry and just apply it to the incurred costs. When I got home I filled out the required documents and submitted the claim. Over a month later I received an email requesting the documents again. So I submitted them again. Six weeks later I received another email requesting additional information that was already submitted with the prior docs. Again I sent it. Two months later I received the following: Dear J*** C****, Thank you for your feedback We sincerely apologize for the unintentional delay in responding to you. As Per your email, we regret to hear that your baggage was delayed at your destination. We can imagine what it meant for you to travel and not have your essential items as you intended. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you on this occasion. Liability for baggage is clearly regulated by law, and we must fulfill certain criteria in order to be able to meet your request for compensation. The passenger must indicate the damage amount and prove it with the help of receipts, e.g., sales receipts or credit card receipts. As much as we understand your irritation, we are unable to comply with your request for reimbursement of the expenses for your replacement purchases. We hope for your understanding that we cannot pay damage compensation under these circumstances.We nevertheless hope to welcome you on board a Lufthansa flight again soon. 1 starWe will never fly with this airline ever again because of what they did to us on our return flight from ***** on April 10th to ******, **, ***. We were notified a few days before our return flight that our flight was cancelled and the alternative was another flight that required a 10 hr. layover in ******. We did not have much of a choice as the alternatives were even worse. The new flight they chose for us had premium economy seats which the original cancelled flight did not, but we did pay extra for comfort economy seats on that flight. We decided to upgrade and paid the difference. After our upgrade went through, we got notified that our baggage allowance was changed and now we were only allowed one bag for check in, versus the original two that we started out journey.It is of course impossible to fight such nonsense when you are in ***** and can't seem to get anyone from Lufthansa who knew what we were complaining about. In the end we decided to pay for one extra bag and call the whole experience one for the books. It took us over 2 hours to pay the $100 for the extra bag we needed to check in, and they would not tell us what would happen if we miss our flight because of the delay they were causing in collecting our payment for the extra bag. It was infuriating to see that the counter staff did not care and ignored our concerns completely. In the end, we had to run to catch our flight, and got in just before they closed the doors. By the way, we both are over 70 years old !!In the end, I will make sure that I will insist that nobody I know flies Lufthansa, can't understand how this venerable airline could have become so bad. Anyway, word of warning to others who may be stuck in having to fly this airline, make sure you have you carry hard copies of all the proof you may need to get what you paid for.Review fromJustin R

1 starRidiculous airline and would never use again. Signed up for their Barclays credit card racked up over 80k points but when I went to book anything, they only allow certain days to use them. Yet if you try to book any flights that you have to pay for, they offer multiple options. What's the point of signing up to their CC if that's the case? 1 starLufthansa is Fraudster, scammer, lousy airline, the absolute worst airline. They deserve to be removed from star alliance and get negative ratings , not even one star.I was traveling to from *** to ****** via ****** the 24/2. Although there were issues in ************** like airport rail was not working, no ground staff to assist **, no proper signs to the correct gate, resulting in ** almost to lose our connecting flight, but our bags didn't make the flight to Naples. No one had the slightest bit of decency to inform us. The crew staff was obviously incompetent to handle a difficult situation. Poor communication skills, no manners, superiority attitude, very demeaning rude behavior at ************** too ****** when we filed report of baggage delay, and no tolerance approach-almost inhumane. Absolute Zero!! They wouldn't want to deliver our bags to hotel. We were stuck 4 days without our bags. They ask bank details and make it believe you are getting your refund. When in infact scamming people out there.. The complaints mailbox seems to be hacked as they are sniffing the incoming complaints and getting the contents from there and scamming **. LH has not reached out to us nor have I gotten my refund for baggage delay and costs related to it. I complained **** of ************** and BBB as well as to District Attorney to investigate both airlines UA as they partner with LH and we run into the same issue. 1 starLufthansa is absolutely the worst airline. I booked a flight from ********* to ******* (stop on *********) Booking Code: 3BQTWA I paid an upgrade to have a better seat. However, my seat on the flight from ********* to ******* didn't recline. When I asked for a solution, the only response I got from the crew thanks for informing us so we will fix it when arrive to *******. I asked for a seat change since the flight lasts 11 hours but they responded that it was not possible, so I had to stay on the straight position for eleven (11 Hours). No one from the crew showed the slightest concern about my situation.Upon arrived to *******, I was informed that my baggage was left in *********. I contacted a Lufthansa rep. ************************************** and *************************) upon my arrival at ***. (******************************). They informed me that I would be reimbursed for the taxis since the car key was in the luggage that I had been forced to check for no apparent reason. I submitted the claim for the broken luggage, the taxis cost and some kind of compensation due to the seat issue. The only word back was that they forwarded my request to their service partner Dolfi1920 GmbH since they are responsible for handling claims of damage caused to baggage that occurred during a flight. They informed that a representative from Dolfi1920 would contact me within the next few days. It was on Jan ********* no words from them They didn't compensate me either for the seat issue, for the broken baggage, or the taxis.They dont care about the customer at all. The customer service is terrible, the crew is terrible and even worst the process to submit the claim. If you look for the worst service ever, flight with Lufthansa.
