On 4/20/2025 I realized that my return trip from ***** was screwed up because of an earlier flight change that screwed up my entire itinerary that part of my return trip was missing from ******** to ********. I contacted my travel agency six times who refused to correct the issue, telling me the flights are confirmed but I know better then to trust third party travel agencies. It clearly states and I have proof (and a recorded phone call conversation that confirms an issue with the reservation) that part of the flight is missing. Due to being less then 24 hours from check in time, I called Turkish Airlines directly and even they refused to provide a free change even though part of the flights missing violate their change rule which should allow me a free change. I am now forced to pay $400 to change my flight because nobody wants to listen to my issues or look at the proof that I have.Initial Complaint

On April 13th 2025 I was scheduled to flight TK30 EWR-IST. After checking in and waiting to board the flight was cancelled at 04am even though it was originally scheduled for 00:05 am. The staff from Turkish Airlines confirmed that cancellation of flight was due to mechanical issues on their plane. After going through so much stress they rebooked me on a much later flight and confirmed that they would pay for my taxi expenses as the flight was to ***. They assured that turkish airlines will reimburse through their website customer service if I submit my receipt. I did all that and now they are refusing to reimburse by saying the receipt is not acceptable even though they can verify very well by contacting the cab company as it is located at ***********. I transferred ***** worth of miles specifically to perform an upgrade from ******** to *****. However, your app and website began showing errors, saying that the upgrade could not be completed. When I called your customer support, I was told that upgrades for two passengers could not be processed because both individuals must give consent and even then, verbal consent over the phone was not acceptable.Your team advised that I could complete the upgrade at ***************. However, once there, I was told that it is not possible to perform any miles upgrades at that location because the system does not allow it. As a result, we lost our upgrade opportunity, and by the time we reached ********, we were told there were no seats left. This entire experience was a complete disaster, caused entirely by a failure in your systems and a complete lack of communication or understanding from your staff.Why do I say this with such confidence? I have attached screenshots from your own ******** support team stating that the upgrade can be done by phone. We are now facing the exact same issue again, trying to upgrade from ***** to ********. The funniest and frankly most insulting part is that your system clearly shows how many miles are required in the screenshots Ive attached, yet once logged in, the option disappears. Are you seriously mocking your customers?What makes this situation even worse is that, again, after calling the support number (as instructed by ******** support), your staff attempted the upgrade and failed, repeating the same line that I must go to the airport. What kind of system is this?Not only have you wasted my time with your dysfunctional platform, but I also spent ***** to transfer miles which I still cannot use. I flew with Turkish Arlines in August of 2024 to ******** from ***********. On the way back to ***********, while I was at my connect in ******, they asked for volunteers to take a flight a day later due to the flight being over booked. The modes of compensation were either 1) a round trip to ****** for free, or 2) $658 cash. I chose the second option, and was told to contact Turkish Airlines when I landed in *********** to receive my compensation. I filled out all the necessary forms, and was told I was going to get a check mailed to me. A month later, I hadn't received the check and when I followed up, was told that the refund got processed to the credit card that had purchased the flight tickets. I told them that once again, I didn't receive any compensation and even attached the monthly statement for the month they said processed the refund. After months of emailing, they finally have said "my cheque has been refunded."Customer Answer

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding Turkish Airlines failure to process a refund of $125 USD, which was approved but remains unpaid. As a U.S. resident, I purchased a ticket for travel at the end of October 2024. Although Turkish Airlines confirmed my eligibility for a refund, they have refused to process it due to internal restrictions on Iranian Shetab card transactions, as my ticket was originally purchased in ****. (my flight was from **** to *************)To facilitate the refund, I provided my ******************** account details, making it clear that I am currently in the ************* and resident of ***************** with a valid domestic bank account. ********************** own policies state that if the original payment method is unavailable, alternative options may be considered. However, despite this policy and their acknowledgment of the refund, they have refused to issue the payment.I have made multiple good-faith efforts to resolve this matter, including:Contacting Turkish Airlines customer service numerous times,Filing a complaint with the *********************************,Escalating the issue to Turkish Airlines executive leadership, including their CEO.Despite these efforts, Turkish Airlines has provided no resolution. I am reaching out regarding a transaction made on March 9, 2025, for the purchase of airline tickets totaling $4,220.84. Upon arrival at the airlines front desk, I was denied boarding due to a **** requirement. What should have been a simple fix turned into a 12+ hour ordeal over three days (March 14th18th, 2025), costing us time, emotional distress, and financial inconvenience. On March 14th, we booked three tickets through the Turkish Airlines website. Upon receiving the confirmation email, we noticed a minor spelling error on my husbands last name. We immediately called customer service, expecting a straightforward correction, as their policy allows minor errors under four letters to be amended or corrected with a fee. Instead, we were told the only solution was to fully refund and rebook all three tickets, requiring us to repurchase them at the current market rate while waiting for the original $5400 refundsomething financially unfeasible. Despite submitting the requested form twice with passport images, we received no resolution. An agent then directed us to ***, claiming the staff there had more sophisticated equipment .We drove an hour to DIA2xpaying for tolls, gas, parking, only to find no Turkish Airlines staff available. On our third visit, we finally spoke with two attendants, who said they were not trained to sell or modify tickets due to the location being new. Back on the phone, we were again directed to use the unhelpful online chat and form. We discovered my husbands ticket had been inexplicably detached from mine and my sons without notice. Despite being placed on a separate ticket, his name was still misspelled. Frustrated, we requested a refund but were repeatedly told we were not eligible. Only after demanding they check their system did they confirm we were entitled to a partial refund. We ultimately canceled the tickets online on March 18th, as the website clearly displayed the refund amount. We are now awaiting the refund, minus the fees, while scrambling to find new flights.This experience was emotionally draining, financially burdensome, and marked by poor customer service, misinformation, and lack of accountability.
