I booked the airline ticket from ****** to ******. This ticket had a layover in ******** about 16hrs. There were no indications of this flight was not eligible for the connecting flight hotel but when I went to the hotel desk they gave me another internal document and told me that I was not eligible to receive the hotel night.Customer Answer

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the handling of my parents flight with confirmation number ****** on December 11, 2023. We purchased tickets that were explicitly stated as returnable or changeable. However, due to an accidental change in the return flight date, we immediately contacted the airlines customer servicewithin minutes, not hours or days laterto correct the mistake.We explained that the change was unintentional and requested that the original return flight date be reinstated. Unfortunately, the airline refused to honor our request. Additionally, the airlines booking system appears to be misleadinginstead of providing a final confirmation or summary page before completing changes, it abruptly finalizes the process. This effectively traps customers into confirming unintended modifications, leaving them with no recourse but to purchase new tickets.Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter through customer service, no one has responded regarding a refund or resolution. The lack of communication and unwillingness to correct an obvious mistake highlights poor customer service management and unfair business practices.I am seeking a resolution that includes either reinstating the original return flight or providing a full refund for the incorrect change. I requested a refund for a portion of a ticket I didn't use, and Turkish Airlines sent the paperwork I submitted in December of 2024, and the airlines ghosted me after that. The ticket was for my wife at the time, now estranged, but I did the purchasing.Customer Answer

We paid for extra legroom on a flight from ******** to ********. Upon checking in and boarding, we were not given the seats we paid for. We were advised by the airline staff to file a complaint with Turkish Airlines customer service. We filed a complaint via their website and got a response 2 weeks later stating there is no record of us paying for the seats with extra legroom. We sent back supporting documentation showing we paid the $318 dollars for extra legroom and were still advised by the airline that we never paid this fee and that they could not accommodate our request. When we called Turkish airlines no one from customer service was able to answer our questions. The airline insists on handling all inquiries via online forms and email correspondence only. We also werent able to speak with anyone at the airport about this issue. The staff at the customer service desk at the airport refused to address our concern.Customer Answer

Reservation number-****** Confirmation******* I had a life threating emergency the day I was supposed to travel. I was hospitalized for days and had an emergency surgery. My family member contacted the airline and was told that all they need was my medical documentation. I have provided that and even disputed with the credit card but the airline stated they will not refund my money. They stated even with my medical document their policy does not allow a refund. In January 2024, I had a flight from ***** to ********, with a connecting flight to *****, ***************. Due to a delay in my ************* flight, I missed my connection and had to obtain another flight from ******** to *****. I am now in the process of submitting a claim through **********, which I had purchased at the time of booking my ticket with Turkish Airlines. ********** requires several documents for my claim, including:Proof of delay Proof of complete itinerary Proof of payment for booking Proof of alternative transport booking Unfortunately, after signing into my Turkish Airlines account, I was unable to retrieve these documents. I have since contacted the Turkish Airlines Miami office via email, yet I have not received any response. Additionally, my repeated attempts to reach them by phone have gone unanswered, making it extremely difficult to obtain the necessary documentation.I find it unacceptable that Turkish Airlines lacks a responsive customer support system. As a paying customer, I expect timely assistance, particularly when dealing with travel disruptions and insurance claims. This lack of communication has caused unnecessary delays in my claims process, and I urge Turkish Airlines to address this issue by ensuring their offices in the **** are more accessible and responsive to customer inquiries.Initial Complaint

ON February 8, 2025, I arrived at *********** at 2:47 PM for my flight to *** on the Turkish airlines with a layover in ********. At ************* Turkish airlines counter, I proceeded to check my bags. The employee was rude and liberally stated my full name pointing to the fact that I am a ********* and it was obvious from my name. The employee denied me boarding on my flight annd asked me to pay $600 for a change. Although I knew that this is discriminatory and illegal, I proceeded to the airline office at the airport and requested to pay and board the flight based on the employees request. As he was attempting to make the change, he was talking on the phone with the check in counter employee. After a few minutes, Turkish airline employee at the office stated that he failed to make the change and attributed it to failure in the internet connection. I sensed that this was internationally done to make me miss the flight. As a result, the flight took off and I missed the first half of my flight (CAI to IST). I tried to work again with the employee at the office but then he asked for even higher amount to make the change.Since the price unreasonably went up by the hour, I sensed that I was being scammed. I decided to book another flight the next day and flew Delta.Turkish Airline business practices are the worst Ive seen. I flew many international airlines, yet no airline pressured me for money at any point not discriminated based on my religion. I understand that *****, ***** and ******/Turkish airlines are predominantly ******* but they should set aside their religious beliefs and inclinations when it comes to their passengers business.I tried to contact Turkish airlines and request.l refund. Unfortunately, the information they provided was not accurate and they claimed that I never showed up at the airport or the counter to take the flight. On January 21st, 2025, I was charged $765.70 three times, none of which was authorized. My first attempt to get this fixed was by contacting Turkish Airlines. However, they made it clear that I was not authorized for anything, given that my name was not associated with the tickets. Afterwards, I contacted my bank, *****, and disputed this as unauthorized transactions. I was issued a new card since the old card was compromised. After two weeks of trying, I contacted the ********************** and they said they were unable to rescue the funds from that business. After speaking to their manager, I was advised that BBB is the only solution to my concern. I am filing this complaint to seek help from BBB to reach out and secure the funds for me, which add up to $2,297.10. I am a student with class fees coming, which that money was saved for; I kindly request this help solely to not get dropped from my classes, which will set me back for at least 6 months.Initial Complaint

I have reported the cost of the delayed luggage and finally the agreed and sent a check for $30. I have received the check and deposited it in my bank account. And it was returned. It came back insufficient funds. Now I am going to get a return check fee. I now expect a $30+$15 return item fee check for a total of $45. I don't understand how a large company like Turkish Airlines has an account and sends checks with no money in the account. I been contacting them multiple times and the responses are very minimal, but nobody is doing anything. They agreed on the $30 and it took a long time to get the check and then it bounced. All I want is the $30 + $15 return fee. Every time I do contact them they say they are looking into it but I still get no responses.Initial Complaint

Overly charged for airflight. On October 2, 2024, Turkish airline charged us $******** unfairly for the flight that was took off from *** to ******, ******. Originally , on May 31, 2024, I purchased for three people round trip tickets that cost $3720.60. How ever we missed the flight and the Turkish airline charged us additional airfare which is $ ********. We attempted to reach out the customer service several time, yet unable to reach for resolution. I now urge that BBB examine the charges made by Turkish Airlines on October 2nd and, on our behalf, request a refund of $********, as we paid $3720.60 for the same flight.
