After 22 years of service as a career conditional federal employee, with fully successful performance appraisals every single year, my agency thinks they can terminate me with some bs charges??? HA! So I retained TR. I had two options: fight the charges and most certainly prevail at the MSPB level (way too long and costly) or counter offer to settle. I had ZERO interest in fighting to keep a job I was no longer interested in anyways ( I was already leaving in my head and had a job interview lined up the day after they put me on Admin Leave! Providence at work!). So the obvious choice for me was propose a Settlement and resign with a clean SF50, which of course the agency accepted. TR handled everything well, working with the government Attorney on the settlement details. They negotiated that my agency even cover my attorney fees! So it cost me absolutely nothing to utilize their services. Now mind you, had I been forced to go all the way to MSPB with TR, this was going to cost many many thousands more so I cannot speak to TR performance for more complicated and longer cases. And there were a few times I had to ask for things from them that I felt should be obvious that they send me. Also, when squaring my account at the end and returning the unused retainer funds, I saw that TR decided to increase the hourly billing rate for a few of the things they did right at the end. So I was not happy that the hourly billing rate was increased DURING the time of retainer. For these infractions I deducted 2 stars. I did have to stay on top of everything. You cannot just assume they know anything, you must stay on top of what is going on and work with them, There is no way any attorney can know the intimate details of every case anyways so this is standard. But overall I could not be happier with the outcome! SO HAPPY to be released from my previous agency, and continuing my federal career with a new agency this month. Bravo Zulu TR! PTL everything in my favor!

Tully Rinckey assisted me to respond to 'preliminary fitness assessment' ineligibility finding based on concerns about 'guideline B - Foreign Influence'. This was related to my first-time application for a government TS clearance for an international affairs (non IC or DOD) role.
After a reassuring consultation with Heather T (Albany) my case was assigned to Dan M (Washington, D.C.). Heather advised how TR would assist; gave strong answers when I asked 'why TR not the competition?'; did not apply needless scare tactics as another reputable competitor had during my research; and provided a fair cost estimate which turned out to be accurate.
Dan was exemplary to work with. He provided a structured approach in terms of formatting and content of the response to DS. Most importantly, he responded to me at all times in a succinct and clear manner - and I mean all times. This provided me with great confidence. He represented me to the agency in a businesslike manner and developed a legal brief with exhaustive, relevant case history and legal referencing, as well as advising me perfectly on my own evidence/declaration.
I am very glad to have taken the time to research options and to have picked TR and having been assigned Dan Meyer. And very happy with the service provided and outcome - my clearance came through yesterday.

Thanks to TR and Mr. M****! I had a Guideline F, Financial Considerations, proceeding before the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals. I sought out Tully Rinckey and they assigned Dan M****, a national security partner working out of the Washington, D.C. Office, to represent me. Mr. M**** is a former security officer and knew exactly where to point me in the evidence collection and hearing process. After I got the evidence together, Dan did the legal brief and represented me at the hearing, doing the examination and defending the cross examination. My decision is in, and we won I would highly recommend Mr. M**** and TR!

I hired the firm in Albany NY for a legal matter. My lawyer kept saying it was an easy case, no worries, and that the other attorney was a hack who was just a female dog, if you know the reference. My impression is that the guy was lazy and just drug this out way too long only to come out at a loss from what he said I could expect. Then after all was said and done, I paid my final bill - above the retainer fee that was supposed to cover it all since it was an "easy case". Finished? Not quite. I received yet another final bill. Some extra hours, perhaps, that weren't properly logged at first? Very lazy, very unprofessional, never took my case seriously. Shop elsewhere.

Poor service. Absence of attention to detail. Addressing letters to Joan as Mr. Gouging on hourly rates while authoring letters a junior high student could write. Avoid this firm if you value money.

Terrible law firm. I hired them to prepare a QDRO. In over two years and all my money, the only thing they accomplished was emailing me an incomplete set of documents, some of which were missing pages. Very unprofessional and unproductive. All their self promoting advertisements are lies. I am filing a complaint against them with the NYS Bar Association.

While we cannot address the specific issues Mr. ***** has posted due to attorney confidentiality concerns, we do strongly disagree with his comments in this review. We have tried addressing the concerns with Mr. ***** directly, but he refuses to engage with us and instead responds with hyperbole. Our attorneys and staff handled this matter, as we do all matters, with professionalism and respect for the client. We would be happy to address Mr. *****’s comments with him and our Client Assurance team.

“I was the victim of mobbing and bullying in the work place. As a disabled veteran, I was staring at a Notice of Proposed Removal. Tully Rinckey PLLC put their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) subject matter expert on the case. Dan M****, a partner in the DC Office, put together not only a great written reply, but dominated the hearing as well. The mobbers and bullies were routed. My removal was downgraded to a one-day suspension. Thank you Dan M***** thanks TR !”

Thanks to Tully Rinckey! Facing a Statement of Reasons from the Department of Energy, I did a consult with Tully Rinckey. National security law expert, Dan M****, who used to oversight the Department of Energy when he was an intelligence officer, was given my file. Dan organized us for the response, and guided me in collecting the evidence necessary to mitigate the Office of Security’s concerns. Dan’s legal brief was the capstone to the filing. We had to wait for what seemed like an eternity, but I just received word I am back on the job. Thank you to Dan M**** and the folks at Tully Rinkey!

The question always comes up, do you represent yourself in a security clearance proceeding, or do you get a lawyer? I did both, and I can say getting my file to Tully Rinckey put the ball over the goal line. Great win at the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals; thanks to Dan M**** in the Washington DC Office and the entire TR national security team!
