1 starI deposited a check for $1300 through Chase's mobile app on November 22, 2024. Moments later I received an email from Chase acknowledging my deposit and advising that the funds would be available in my account in three weeks. This seemed unusually long for a check to clear so I called Chase Customer Service for clarification. The Chase agent I spoke with advised that mobile deposits take much longer than checks presented for deposit at a branch. He also indicated the local branch could speed up the deposit. After the call I went to my local branch at **** *********** *** ** ********** **. When I explained to the Chase representative my question about the deposited check, I was told it takes as long as it takes and it would still take three weeks if I presented the check at the bank. I couldn't understand the three week lead time to clear a $1300 check from the DC Treasury and stated that in the last few months I sent two bank wires to EU auction houses that took 2 days. While I was still talking, she said have a good day and walked away. This is the first time I needed to consult with a agent at my local Chase about a problem and I was certainly not treated like a valued customer.
I will be closing all of my accounts with Chase and looking for a bank where interaction with employees is not so grim and cheerless and where customer service strives to rise above careless and indifferent.Review fromJoseph H

1 starDO NOT USE CHASE'S FINANCIAL SERVICES!!
My mother, 82 years old, recently had her identity stolen. On October 29, 2024, $2,999 in charges appeared on her Chase checking account, all from the ***** online payment service.
On October 30, 2024, we reviewed the situation with Chase's customer protection group, who agreed that her identity had been stolen. Chase then said how they would automatically monitor my mother's accounts for the next 60 days to ensure additional fraudulent charges did not appear. On October 31, 2024, Chase reversed the charges and credited my mother's account for the $2,999.
On November 13, 2024, we discovered the $2,999 charges had been reinstated on my mother's account. After calling Chase's customer protection group, we were informed that after Chase's "investigation," the charges were deemed legit. However, Chase has refused to provide any documentation about these charges. Instead, they insist that we need to provide proof that these charges were fraudulent. HOW DO YOU PROVE SOMETHING FRAUDULENT, ESPECIALLY AFTER CHASE AGREED HER IDENTITY HAD BEEN STOLEN?!?
Chase clearly does not care for their customers and has damaged the financial security of an 82-year-old woman with limited income.Review fromAnthony B

1 starThis is horrible what they are doing to get customers, They advertised $300 bonus when you open up a checking account and I quote " direct deposits via ACH transfer totaling $500 or more" which I did, I work for myself and transfer ACH direct deposits to my personal checking several times a week.. I asked to representatives prior to opening the account, And I asked and called twice after I transferred money to the new account. Everything was good All four representatives told me that I would be receiving my bonus In 14 days.. NOW, They changed the rules in the middle AFTER YOU HAVE OPENED UP AN ACCOUNT! In two weeks later now all the sudden I don't meet the requirements and They say that it MUST come from your employer.. NOW I AM MY OWN EMPLOYER, UNDER MY S CORP.. I'M SO ANGRY I WILL NOT LET THIS GO.. THEY WILL SAY AND DO WHATEVER TO GET CUSTOMERS NOW WHEN IT COMES TIME, THEY WILL SAY AND MAKE UP THIS AND MAKE UP THAT.. I'M SO DISGUSTED I COULD JUST PUKE... THE SCAMS THAT THESE GIANT COMPANIES PULL IS UNBELIEVABLE... LIKE I SAID I HAD FOUR DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVES ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD BE RECEIVING MY BONUS AND THAT THE WAY I WAS TRANSFERRING THE MONEY WOULD MAKE ME ELIGIBLE FOR MY $300 BONUS... MY WIFE WILL BE LEAVING IN REVIEW MY MOTHER WILL BE LEAVING A REVIEW, MY BEST FRIENDS AND ALL MY COUSINS WILL BE LEAVING REVIEWS AS WELL.. BECAUSE I TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY MAD... I CAN'T STAND BEING LIED TO BY MAJOR CORPORATIONS WITH ALL THE FOOD ON THEIR PLATE.. TRYING TO ***** THE LITTLE GUY OVER who works for himself. We all know how hard it is to work for yourself sometimes.... JPMORGAN CHASE I WILL NOT AND NEVER STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO SCAMS THAT YOU WERE PULLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Review fromTre-vone D

1 starI’m deeply disappointed with how this company handled my account. As a first-time student opening an account, I initially felt positive about the process, especially when my account was approved. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. After some fraudulent activity occurred, the company restricted my account without clear communication, then ultimately closed it.
What’s most frustrating is the complete lack of transparency throughout this situation. I understand that security measures need to be taken in cases of fraud, but the company never provided me with a clear explanation of what happened or why my account was closed. I was left with no real answers, which feels unprofessional and unfair.
As a young student just starting to manage my finances, I expected a company that would guide me through any issues and treat me with respect. Instead, I was left in the dark with no reason for the restriction or closure. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Based on how this situation was handled, I cannot recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable and transparent service.Review fromDerek W

1 starChase decided one day to close my accounts with them. Right before the closing of my account, I had received a large sum of money to open my first restaurant. First, Chase said they were running an investigation into where the money came from and should I even have the money. After they sent me whatever they felt was mine ($11.63, to be exact), I was told that I need to prove that I should have that money. Why do I need to prove what was already in my account? I just want all of my money back.Review fromHaewon P

1 starIt seems that there is a gap in training and communication within the office. Customer service representative, her name is Iris, put me on hold for one hour when I asked for her manager to speak with as she was not able to communicate the problem effectively.Review fromCarlyle M

5 starsI love Chase Bank. I have been with them for several years and they have always treated me like I am the number one customer. I am a windowed father raising four children by myself and money can get tight at times yet Chase always treats me like a V.I.P...thank you Chase, I will be a customer for life!Review fromRicardo R

1 starChase bank did not protect the customer's rights., on May 20th I called them to stop a wire transfer which I was not doing. I told the operator to close the account and suspend the transfer, They suspended the account but they did not close and they send the money $2000 and after called to ask why is account not accredited, they told me its under investigation, and I will get the credit back in a few days, but it passed 3 weeks I still didn't get my money back, On July 10th I got a letter saying that they didn't find any fraud, and refused to give any information on findings, not where nor who received the money they refused to give any phone numbers to call. I will be taking to court and will be responsible for any attorney's fee and time that I spent trying to solve and getting my money back....

1 starDo not ever feel that your money is safe with chase. It may just vanish with no explanation at all. On August 29, 2024, I bought an item in one of the resort centers in ********** called ****** for $2075.00. The merchant soon told me that they could not give the item and to dispute the matter with my bank so that my bank could return my $2075.00 back to me. Chase bank spent one month investigating the situation and sent me mail saying my claim was rejected. When I called and asked for explanation, I was told, "the merchant provided evidence that your claim is illegitimate". When I asked what evidence? Who did you talk to? Did you specifically talked to the supervisor who told me to dispute the transaction with my bank? etc...customer service with CHASE BANK simply told me, "we can't discuss the matter with you any more. You can contact the merchant yourself if you want". I threatened to take legal action against the merchant and contacted department of Justice who also contacted the merchant and ended up getting my money back after a month and half. However, as far as Chase is concerned, my money would just have vanished with even no decency to even explain the process of their so called investigation. I immediately cancelled my direct deposit with chase and will continue to alert consumers to be careful about putting large amounts of money with chase bank as it may one day vanish with no explanation at all.
