Deceiving tactics! At the beginning of the year I made the mistake to accept a credit card offer from American Airlines/Citibank. After several purchases mostly airfare I received an offer to use their "Flex Plan". At the time it just sounded like a good idea since most of my air travel was for the summer or fall. After been told that those could be cancelled at anytime, I was just told by a very rude and unprofessional customer service lady that it was not possible. Neither to say that I closed the account on the spot, since this is the kind of tactics that some of this banks use to get your in debt. My hope is that nobody else uses this "Flex payment" options and that the BBB makes an investigation on why are this tactics even tolerated.

DONT DO IT!!!!! I got an accelerated savings account - SAVINGS! When I didn't touch it for a year they inactivated it. I call immediately and was told that snail mail was the only way to get my account activated because the nearest branch was so far away. I jumped through those hoops - got it up, tried to transfer the money out, they bounced it back. I called and closed the account (or so I thought) and the guy said they had to snail mail me the check. I waited a month - nothing. I called - Oh, guess what? My account is inactive again and they want me to start over with the snail mail. Now, tell me they aren't just railroading me to keep my money? Are you kidding me? In this day and age there is no reason I cannot verify my identity online and transfer my money out. My advice - STAY AWAY!

Beware of filling out an application for a Citi credit card, I saved an application and the next thing I received a card in the mail. I never approved or activated the card but I now have a collection agent harassing me for a huge fee. by not finishing my application, I never agreed to receiving a card, I never activated the card or never used the Citi card. What a scam they have going.

CITIBANK MAILED MY CHECKBOOK TO THE WRONG ADDRESS, even though my address is on my account and I verified it over the phone in order to be able to place the order for the same checks that were mailed to the wrong address. The best part is, the bank is totally nonchalant and doesn't care about breaching the consumer's trust and flailing the client's personal account number out to the public. I immediately closed my account with this horrendous bank and will be working with ***** moving forward. These people do not care if your money is stolen, they do not verify information properly and accurately, they are not trustworthy of your personal information. Take your business elsewhere.

I cannot believe the stupidity of this company. They are unable to use common sense or deviate from the written script. Citicard is my primary credit card; I use it for reoccurring expenses and essential things like train and subway tickets, car insurance, and many other items. I received six **** purchases from ****** pay; since I did not authorize the charge, I had to cancel the card. My choice was either accept the charges or get a card reissued. Then when my replacement cards were being shipped, they said they could not remove signature delivery (my address has not changed). According to them, it is up to the driver. The same information by a customer representative is repeated by the supervisor, regardless of how unapplicable it is to the current situation. What a shame, I will have to look for another credit card.

I have an savings account open with Citibank for its higher interest rate here in ***** rather than using my ***** ***** which does not have a high interest rate savings. They do not have a branch in ***** so everything is online. Even linking my accounts to my ***** ***** to get my money when needed there are limits you can send daily monthly and anything over a certain amount has to be wired to yourself which cost $25. The wire has to be done online as well and there is a limit you can wire to yourself or anyone else. I needed to get money wired for an emergency situation which was going to be the *** to wire and my online access would not let me do the transaction and called customer service/tech support for 3 days trying to fix it and ended up blocking me from access to my account. I am having to go to ******* branch to try to get this straight and my money in which not sure if theres going to be an issue getting it at this point but I dont have any other options but to hope I can get my money. Be aware of the fine lines of this business and that it is not worth the interest if you cant get your money when needed. I can only hope that the branch in ******* will let me get my money and I dont have to legally file to get my money. Bottom line is there was nothing wrong with my account to not get my money but citibank which is not BBB credited is keeping my money from me. Please be aware and this inconvenience and my life savings is being held and Im sick that they can do this.

I called Citi to close my Savings acct & after being transferred around several times I got in touch with someone who could assist me & confirmed that my account was closed. The following day I was not able to log into my Citi account for my CC. I called support to resolve this & I have never had a worse experience. No matter what I told them I was unable to verify my account, I kept getting transferred & gave them all of my info. One rep even updated the security word since it apparently wasn't matching..I then was transferred a few more times & still had issues with the security word. I had been trying to get support for around an hour & had spoken with 5-6 people. Finally, I reached someone who was able to verify my info & informed me that the issue was that since my savings account was closed I could no longer use my username to access Citi online since that account had been closed. So he assisted in setting a new user ID that only had my credit card associated with it. Then today I received an email from Citi that I had overdrawn the service fee on my savings account. I called Citi support & I got transferred to 5 different people,1 of which had an issue with verification & another said there was no record of cancellation & that there were no notes indicating the closure. I finally got someone who was able to assist me & ensured me they had given me a credit so that they would be able to process the cancellation. They also said that they did see the closure attempt on 4/30 but that it didn't go through because of the negative balance, which doesn't make sense since the email said the attempt to charge the account was made on 6/07 (not sure how that would affect a closure on 4/30). Again I never received any correspondence from Citi regarding this account besides the email today for the overdraw & have not had access to the account or account information since 4/30.This not only screams gross incompetence but it also seems fraudulent & predatory.

The one start is too generous for Citi. There is a reason not too many people use this bank or their credit cards. I have been trying to use their double cash back credit card for a few months now. I am stating trying because it simply is impossible with them. I had a payment due and even though I had a specific bank account on autopay they proceeded to use an old bank account that was removed a few months back. That pushed my account to overdraft protection and caused me about $60 in fees. When I called them to find out why and how they still had an old bank information that was removed still in their files they immediately transferred me to a manager and the manager simply said. We need to move on with this so please contact your bank to reverse the transaction. My bank disputed the charge and I went ahead and completed the payment with the bank they had in file. 10 days later and my account is still showing overdrawn even though they already took the money. I called multiple times to resolve it and every time they claimed that the amount was too large and they had t call my bank to verify the funds. They attempted twice to communicate with my bank with me on the phone and both times failed miserably since their call center (***** or ********** or who knows where) had very bad connection and we could not hear what they were trying to achieve with that call. I spoke with my Bank and they told me that Citi already took the money so they fail to see the need of funds verification from the minute they already received the funds.Such a bad experience with them these last two weeks. I am done with this company for good. I am so glad that ***** ***** already offered the same product.
