I've been trying to get a hold of someone in customer service to help me. Every phone number leaves to a dead end. And possible to speak to a human for guidance.

American Express operates in a very unethical manner. They use unlawful business practices for example taking money from a bank account without prior authorization, lying about sending new cards knowingly, and then closing my account because the payment that they processed without my permission was returned. You can't legally go into my account without authorization then close my business accounts because you didn't get the unauthorized payment. That is called FRAUD. Amex is a fraudulent company and can't be relied upon. They use deceptive business practices and should be investigated by the ************************ for unlawful practices.

I had ordered a ******* refrigerator and upon its delivery I realized that although it fit in my corner space, the dimensions did not allow for the doors to fully open. Therefore, I refused delivery and, of course, never signed for the delivery. ******* has refused to refund my money despite my finally getting the appliance division to acknowledge that the refusal of delivery is documented. I have had to speak repeatedly with American Express about this; whomever **** is speaking to at ******* continues to deny that the delivery was refused and **** completely ignores me when I state that ******* has no record of my having signed for the delivery. I have also given **** the direct phone number (and extension) to the appliance department where confirmation can be obtained about my claim. After speaking with **** at least six times, I have informed them that I have removed my money from their savings division and that I will no longer use the **** card until they fix this problem. NO WONDER THEIR OVERALL RATING HERE IS ONE STAR!!

I also have a dispute with AMEX, after signing up for the ******** card, they are now refusing to issue the 40k miles they promised. I spent the amount required in the time frame. They also refused to reimburse for the Global entry fee. I was given an reference number for my initial inquiry and promised a rapid response, within **** days. Today when I called back after 4 weeks of no response, I get this explanation. Do not believe AMEX

Very misleading points program offering of *******. When I applied for American Express card, first time user. I called to ask how it worked and the phone rep who was very helpful said it was simple spend $6k and then pay it off and your points are there. So we did that and no points showed up. So I then chatted with an agent that said the month-end statement needed to be closed and then within 72 hours the points will show up. Which seemed fair. However, once again the points weren't there when the statement closed. So I chatted with an agent who couldn't help and just gave me the canned automated type of answers so I went to a supervisor and they now mentioned 8 to 12 weeks which is the first time this was shared. That turned into a complete waste of over 50 mins of my time where they were just saying we need to talk to the agents to make sure they understand how the program works (What?) and would not acknowledge that I was given information from two of their employees that said differently of how the program works (now three if you count this latest) and would not make good on what I was told by employees. **** the supervisor was very script-focused at first but then he started to work with me and give me guidance. It was very disappointed he wasn't empowered to do the right thing. Very disappointing in this day and age where customer service is key, especially with so many credit card offers out there. And in fact, I had to pay $750 for this one and could have got others that were just as good for free. **** has agreed to check in with me later on the status of this.

Terrible rude service at Centurion lounge in ******* Airport : ask customers to check in digitally then force them to wait while personnel is chatting while a long line of customers is waiting (get an outdated scanner like every other lounge?). Only one attendant at the front desk ****, which will make you feel like you never want to use the lounge again and better of taking your business elsewhere but to AmEx. The rest of to the assistants are around not helping at all. Not with the annual fee for this treatment and the card barely accepted.

The Gift Card customer service is horrible. I use the gift cards for work purposes so I run into issues now and then with cards. You wait and wait for a representative and then its gets disconnected and you have to call back and wait and wait again. 40 minutes of wait time is not unusual. It has happened too often to be a coincidence. Either the people that work there are not interested in helping with issues or their system is flawed and disconnects people. I was issued a card that when I check the # online says that there is an error, so now I have spent about an hour and 10 minutes (and counting) so far trying to get someone to tell me what is wrong with this one card. Terrible service.

The customer service was actually polite and tried to be helpful. However, when I called to close my account I specifically asked for the *total* amount - including interest fees - to do so. A month later I'm still being charged interest. Today a polite customer service agent explained that this is due to "rotating charges" not shown in their system at the time I called to cancel. This seems to be an American Express system issue, however, if a customer calls *specifically* for that reason there should be a way for customer representatives to calculate the amount *to date* being requested. Made me remember the reason I cancelled another account years ago. Not opening another AE account ever again.

Run from American Express. Don't ever use this credit card unless emergency! If you do not pay off your card in full every time, the next time you do, there are hidden interest charges. They charge interest by the day. Never stated it any where! And when you do pay in full and all charges accrued, they don't include all the interest charges. SURPRISE! Very deceptive business practice. Now I'm out $230.

American Express has been very negligent with a fraud case that I opened in January 2022 I have spoken to multiple representatives and a manager which all states this matter will be taken care of within 30 days. All to get a letter 2 weeks later stating they have been trying to reach me and will have to close the claim due to not enough information from me.They have my correct phone number and address but no attempt to try to reach **** have spent more than 40 plus hours on the phone with American Express and now a collections company (that they sent me to) since January when the fraud was brought to my attention. The transaction was 1 single transaction from a card that was not used in over 8 years. (Supposed to be a closed card)
