Schweiger Dermatology has repeatedly failed to properly bill ******************* of March 31, 2022 and May 4, 2022 pertaining to pathology and surgery even though I have ******** and supplemental BC/BS Excellus coverage. I have phoned their billing department to sort out the matter FIVE TIMES! July 20 I spoke with ******* because I was surprised to see a bill for $1878.98 that didnt reflect any insurance. I waited for my ******** statement to arrive reflecting these services, but nothing. I spoke with Schweiger November 8. They said that insurance had denied the pathology claim due to a problem with coordination of benefits. But ******** never sent a notice of denial (?!). I discovered that the July bill showed theyd incorrectly applied credit card payments I had used to pay for minor cosmetic treatments on July 19 and Aug 30 to outstanding medical services (all but $8.98 which oddly vanished). On November 14 I discussed this confusion with ******* who said to wait for a response, and if no response came that I should call again and request an escalated response. Decembers statement from Schweiger was the same as before. Finally a ******** statement dated December 15 reflected that the March 31 charges had been approved-but oddly, the amount of the charges didnt match up exactly with the Schweiger statement. December 30 I spoke with ******* who told me she submitted my account for an escalated response. Januarys bill from Schweiger arrived-absolutely nothing had changed! Not even reflecting what the ******** statement covered! And now the account is sent to collections!! I spoke with ****** (sp) February 2 who said I would get an email explanation in **** days. I checked my inbox religiously but didnt see any email response from Schweiger. Nothing came! I got a voice message from ****** February 27 to call and discuss my account. I called back Wednesday March 1 and spoke with *****. BACK TO SQUARE ONE and waiting to hear yet another response.Business Response

Schweiger Dermatology Group recently took over the ** Dermatology Group. I have been paying every single month on a bill that 1) keeps coming under the wrong last name as my married name has been updated several times in their system and 2) keeps coming using the account number and letterhead of the old company. Every time I try to pay this bill, I run into difficulties with them either not being able to locate my account, or telling me I have a 0 balance. I received a monthly statement in the amount of $249.12 with a statement date of 1/19/2023. For the past month, I have been calling, emailing and speaking to managers regarding this issue.1) I was told that my balance as of 1/3/2023 is $0 2) They cashed a check in the amount of $40 on 1/17/2023 3) They sent me a statement on 1/19/2023 without the $40 dollars they applied and with a total of $249.12 If my balance is 0 as of 1/3/2023, why am I still getting monthly statements with a balance (under an account number that cannot be located) and why was my $40 dollar check cashed. Where did that money go?It seems no matter how many times this company is contacted, they continue to "research" the issue but with absolutely no resolution.Business Response

We were referred to Schweiger Dermatology in ***** ** for a consultation regarding what our pediatrician thought may have been Molluscum our daughter had little, barely noticeable, bumps on her knee. After performing her exam, the Nurse Practitioner did not explain her assessment to us, she did not provide us with treatment options, nor did she explain the course and duration of treatment she chose cryotherapy, which we eventually found out is not only painful but also very expensive. Shortly after the first visit I received a bill showing they charged us $500 of which Insurance paid $369.99 leaving $130.01 as my responsibility. I was astounded by the charge but assumed due to the inordinate cost that it must be a treatment plan and paid the bill. We proceeded to have 3 more visits, ~***** minutes each, where my daughter was subjected to the painful process of cryotherapy. Only once in that timeframe was I notified, via their messaging system and not the mail, of an outstanding balance for the same amount I had already paid to which I responded Ive already paid this. After a period of several weeks, I received a bill showing that they charged our insurance $2,000 for four ~15-minute visits. At this point, between the insurance and myself, not only had Schweiger Dermatology received over $1,600 but I now owed $390.63!!! In addition, we were scheduled for a 5th appointment with no end in sight. It was at that point I canceled her next appointment and began what to date has been the long, arduous and fruitless effort to get someone at this office to address what I hope is a correctable anomaly or explain how it is acceptable to treat clients like this.I've gone through great lengths resolve this but it's near impossible to speak to someone in the office and when you get someone, of which I was successful twice, they don't call you back. My full accounting and complaint won't fit so I uploaded it as an attachment.Business Response

Since my only two options were Accept or Reject and there's only 6 days to respond I had to pick reject for now.

I have been to the Schweiger Dermatology office numerous times over the past year. I have paid my co-pay every visit. Most of my appointments are 5 minutes long including speaking to the nurse and maybe 2 minutes with the provider, not including my skin check which was maybe 10 minutes at most. I received a text explaining I was to pay a bill. Naturally, I called asking why I have a bill for one visit and not a bill from my previous visits. As you can see on my attachment this bill is from a visit in November 2022, which was my last visit in 2022. I never received a bill from my 3 prior visits in 2022. I called asking why I was billed for 30+ minutes of provider time when at most my appointment was 10 minutes. I asked why I have yet to receive a bill from my prior visits, and I asked why ********** of ******* ** was billed, when I do have a ********** product but its a commercial plan through my employer. I have never had ********** of ******* **. I have provided my insurance card at almost every appointment. I was told that I need to submit my insurance information so they have the correct information. I explained that I have submitted my insurance information to the office repeatedly and that my insurance has not changed at any point during any of my appointments. I was told that all of my concerns would be submitted to the research department, and that I would be emailed an adjusted bill shortly. I have yet to receive an email. To add, I always receive an explanation of benefits from my insurance company any time I get lab work, imaging, and for regular appointments. I have not received anything from my insurance company regarding any of my visits from this office. I am not opposed to paying a bill, but only if its for the services I actually received.Business Response

On 12/12/2022 We recd a letter from a collection agency stating that we owed Schweiger Dermatology $56.40 from 2/4/21 for my husband. On 9/22/2022 my husband went to Schweiger Dermatology for an office visit. They made him make a payment of $124.73. Ive been trying since then to get a breakdown of where that money was applied. I call the # on the bill & was on hold for over 40 minutes & disconnected without ever speaking with a person. Today I was on hold for over 30 minutes & disconnected while they tried to transfer me to someone. When I asked who? & what #? I was told they couldnt provide that. After numerous calls someone called me today but could not provide me with a breakdown & would not provide a name or number of someone who could help me. I dont mind paying what I owe but until they can provide a correct accounting, I will not pay.Business Response

Had a mole removed from my back 10/3/2022 that was supposed to be paid under the ****************** Health Registry. Schweiger is charging me a co-pay which I am not responsible for. Spoke with Schweiger on many occasions and even had a representative from the *** at Rutgers call them to confirm. Schweiger has been harassing me regarding this co-pay which was $20 but now they are asking for $40. No one at Schweiger knows who spoke to the representative from Rutgers *** Health Registry offices. A representative from Schweiger's billing department (***** ************) informed me he would handle this. I gave him the representative and contact number from the *** at Rutgers 4 times. I left voicemail messages that were never returned and did finally speak with him on November 14th 2022 and the latest on 12/23/2022. I gave Schweiger my *** information but they are insisting on billing my personal medical insurance. I have attached a bill from December 1, 2022 and a recent email from January 3, 2023. ThanksBusiness Response

This is a complaint about tattoo removal. I 1st went with this group in ********** **. The original dr told me it would be $350 and take about 3-4 sessions. On the 3rd session with them they wasted my tiime and scheduled an appt knowing the dr had moved on to *****. So i showed up to that appt and found a hostile environment where i felt threatened and very uncomfortable with the new people they introduced me too. They then reffered me to this Schweiger group. This dr worked on me for another 4 sessions. The tattoo has not been removed. It has turned from army green to brown. The dr's ****** me and i believe they took advantage of me becuase i am bi-polar and mentally hanicapped. Not to mention i have neurological problems due to complications from Long Covid. The dr knew this as he saw my medications and i complained of skin problems from LC.I would like to avoid small claims court and have a representive of yours deal with this group and dr's to get a fair outcome for me. Be it free work to have it removed as promised or to get a refund in full for the shoddy work and not telling the truth as advertised by the original group in **********, **********..Thank-you for your time and i appreciate any help you can provide. ***************************** ************Business Response
