I had a child and through my company, I had MetLife insurance. In order to get my claim established and taken care of, I had to call on at least 7 different occasions, the last 2 of which I had to ask for a different caseworker and to speak to the Supervisor. Once I spoke with the Supervisor, my claim was taken care of-- but this is after calling them on 6 prior occasions, jumping through the automated phone system hoops, and then finally speaking to someone who, up until I spoken to the Supervisor, was completely unable to help me -- they were only ever able to leave a message from my caseworker, who never called me back. Not once. Each call took at least 45 minutes if not more. This was all time taken away from my newborn who was a NICU baby. I don't have a say in which insurance I have through my company, but if I am ever given the opportunity to choose an insurance company, it certainly won't be MetLife. I'm not sure exactly what they're doing over there are MetLife by way of training, but it certainly isn't working.

After over 50 years insured by MetLife, I received a notice of policy lapse due to insufficient payments (I have faithfully paid the requested premium every month without a lapse), one week after I contacted the company and asked to increase my monthly premium to make sure my payments were sufficient. I completed and emailed the requested form to do that, and was told my monthly premium would be increased to the needed amount. Fine. Then a week later I received a letter that the policy had lapsed. I am sending the amount requested in order to re-state the policy, but I was told that in the meantime I would be uninsured for 15 to 20 days. At my age, this is unacceptable. I should have been notified much earlier that the policy needed more funds and in any case should not be left uninsured for that amount of time while my "request is considered"

I have Met Life dental. I have never dealt with anything like this. Constantly ask for more information over and over and over. Want to wear you down. Dentist sent a plan preview 7mos ago and the asking for more info never ends. Ridiculous requests such as what side of the mouth will work be done when we all know teeth are individually identified by numbers. Asked if bridge is old or would be a replacement when treatment plan called for sectioning and removal of old bridge. No end to it, this has gone on for seven months. There is no case manager, no one person follows through. Read a consumer report where out of 245 respondents, 243 ranked them at the lowest. Some reviews said that after approval of pre-estimate parts or all of claim were still denied. I don't know what to do, will try my state insurance commissioner and attorney general, this company shouldn't be allowed in my state.estimate

Metlife has been wonderful. My dad had a term life policy. When he passed, I notified Metlife. They were very helpful. They quickly paid the portion to the funeral home and then very quickly sent the remainder of the money to my mom. Thank you, MetLife, for all that you have done and for doing it all in a timely manner. My dad hasn't been gone a month yet and all of this was done.

I filed a complaint last year in 23 and was paid out in full. There was a recent surgery was done again this year on 7/2/24. I was advised by my attorney to submit all paperwork to MetLife whether its a follow up appointment or visit. My attorney wanted to assure that the *** has been reached for benefits while my case is still open. I was advised by a supervisor, I was reaching out to get more money for a claim. That wasnt the case at all, I was really just doing what I was told. Then to be told by a call center supervisor I was attempting to gain more money was an insult. If I was another race she wouldnt have said that. Shes such a low life for making that statement. Who wants to be put in a situation where they have to file a claim?????? Training is definitely needed to work in empathy because this is ridiculous.

My employer offered vision insurance with MetLife. As part of my benefits, I have option to purchase frames in-network and outside-of-network which entitle me to a reimbursement when filing a claim. The reimbursement is supposed to be $130 in-network and $70 out-of-network. I filed a claim within the timeline and was denied per letter dated March 6, 2024. I called them on March 26, 2024 to inquire and was told they made a mistake they would send a check no more than 30 days. I called two months later on May 20, 2024 because I still had no check. Supposedly it was missing the apartment number and I should receive a new check by mid-June. Interesting that I did receive the denial letter which miraculously stated the apartment number but suspicious that letters with reimbursement checks keep missing the apartment numbers. I called today July 23, 2024 and I was informed that it was mailed but seems it was still missing the apartment number. They claim to have fixed it (again) and will be mailed. I asked how long and the agent refused to advise an expected timeline. This activity blatantly shows that they DO NOT WANT TO REIMBURSE customers and hope we give up. Beware of ********************** and these practices on how customers are treated.

The first reimbursement check/ck#:3681981 was issued out on 4/25/24 in the amount of $70 but two months later the customer contact ********************** again about not receiving the check. And it was confirmed that the apartment number was missing from the initial check, and another check/ck#:3701402 was issued on to the member on 6/3/24. The member never received the check and called back to customer service on 7/23/24 stating she did not receive the 2nd check and again the apartment number was not included. A third check/#:3726262 was issued out on 7/24/24 and it was confirmed that the apartment number was included. The member has not contact MetLife again about not receiving the third check that was mailed out to her.

I filed my STD and NY PFL claim through MetLife on 2/20/2024. My leave started on 6/24/2024, and I gave birth on 7/6/2024. On 7/9/2024, I emailed my claim specialist to process my claim, but it is still pending and shows as requiring additional information. My claim specialist has not responded for two weeks, so I have no idea which documents are needed or where to send them. I have called their customer service multiple times, and they always say my claim specialist will reach out soon, but she never does. This has been the worst experience.
