This company is average 25 complaints a month. How are they still in business after it took 1 month and a half to get my husbands disability claim.. they said they sent *********************************************************** his knee .. it never asked if he would need surgery ???then closed his case and now they have to get more information about his knee surgery before they can send any more payments . My husband calls them every day for the last two months the case manager (****** ******) has spoke to my husbands ONE TIME in 2 months.. she never answers the phone or returns calls.. our electric and our phone has been turned off waiting for a payment.. when we did get our payment was back dated but we had to pay our mortgage.. now we are waiting on almost another month for another payment they say the need more medical records about the surgery which I uploaded to their their portal it seems as if they are are scammers we have paid this short/ long term disability for over 10 years and this is only our second claim why do you all make it such a hassle to make a claim? He should receive $444 a week. Claim numberMetLife, Inc.

Same as everyone else. Submitted a claim for about $550, containing all of my new cats medical and adoption records- everything. After a week, still not reviewed. I had to submit another claim for about $180? My first one disappeared, then this second one, after literally 18 days, got rejected due to missing medical records. WHICH WERE IN MY FIRST CLAIM THAT THEY DELETED. They don't respond to emails. The chat feature does not work. I'm stuck paying out of pocket anyway so I want my $45 back and to cancel this unless scam of a policy.MetLife, Inc.

1 starMetropolitan life insurance company violated the fiduciary trust. My father paid for insurance for his daughter for burial expenses. Upon her unexpected death, Hi, the elder brother submitted certificates but the company refused to pay. The said that The policy was under my fathers ownership and I must be a court appointed estate holder. My sister, prior to her death contacted MetLife and asked that the policy be transferred over to me, her older brother, because she was undergoing a surgery. But they said that it had to be transferred over to her first for which she wrote a letter asking for. And then she died. her elder brother used personal funds to cover all funeral expenses, MetLife is holding the money. So the money will go to the State, and not to the purpose of which my father intended my sisters burial expenses. This is negligence. I warned my sister that it was dangerous having a delay to transfer the policy over to her & then to me when she had to do the surgery quickly. Sure enough the worst Happened. MetLife and the state to keep the money. In my opinion, it seems like legal theft. The Expenses of getting a lawyer and probate and travel out of state to resolve this issue is cost prohibitive. The system is set up that way so the house wins.Review fromLydia G

4 starsWould like to update my review. It is very confusing submitting claims and the communication is very delayed but if you call they can be very helpful although it takes a few calls sometimes to really get it right. However I love the ***** payment option and I’m convinced that future claims will be taken care of now that we’ve established our pets record historyReview fromAmy Q

1 starMetLife Pet Insurance Solutions LLC Insurance Companies THIS IS THE MOST TERRIBLE PET INSURANCE OUT THERE. You submit a claim and if they don't like how the vet worded the invoice or documents they will not cover the visit. Even after two months of appealing with the vets signature on the appeal they will not accept the claim.Review fromSamantha S

If i could give this company a ********* I would. This has been the most frustrating experience in my life. My dad was dx with Alzheimer's and his wife has POA. She sent me the forms from Metlife to fill out so I could take over my policy. I called Metlife to make sure I filled out the correct information and what was the best and fastest way for the policy to be transferred over. The agent explained what sections to fill in and where to return it. My dad's wife sent back all of the information. I called a week later to make sure everything was ok only to find out it was denied because I did not fill out a section. This is crazy because I specifically asked the agent about this section and was told not to fill it out. So I filled it out and sent that form back. I called today to check the status and was told I had to have my dad's SSN which I do not have and was told by Rome that he could not tell me if the the forms were received. This is crazy because everyone else was able to tell me about the forms without the **** Spoke with **** the supervisor who now tells me the whole packet has to be sent in not just the 1 pg. Now I have to wait another 7-10 days for them to process the new request for me to take ownership of my policy my dad had since I was a baby. At this point, I am cashing out and taking my business somewhere else. I can't imagine the whoops my family would have to go through if something were to happen to me and they try to collect my policy. TRAIN YOUR AGENTS BETTER!!!MetLife, Inc.

I had a child and through my company, I had MetLife insurance. In order to get my claim established and taken care of, I had to call on at least 7 different occasions, the last 2 of which I had to ask for a different caseworker and to speak to the Supervisor. Once I spoke with the Supervisor, my claim was taken care of-- but this is after calling them on 6 prior occasions, jumping through the automated phone system hoops, and then finally speaking to someone who, up until I spoken to the Supervisor, was completely unable to help me -- they were only ever able to leave a message from my caseworker, who never called me back. Not once. Each call took at least 45 minutes if not more. This was all time taken away from my newborn who was a NICU baby. I don't have a say in which insurance I have through my company, but if I am ever given the opportunity to choose an insurance company, it certainly won't be MetLife. I'm not sure exactly what they're doing over there are MetLife by way of training, but it certainly isn't working.MetLife, Inc.

1 starAfter over 50 years insured by MetLife, I received a notice of policy lapse due to insufficient payments (I have faithfully paid the requested premium every month without a lapse), one week after I contacted the company and asked to increase my monthly premium to make sure my payments were sufficient. I completed and emailed the requested form to do that, and was told my monthly premium would be increased to the needed amount. Fine. Then a week later I received a letter that the policy had lapsed. I am sending the amount requested in order to re-state the policy, but I was told that in the meantime I would be uninsured for 15 to 20 days. At my age, this is unacceptable. I should have been notified much earlier that the policy needed more funds and in any case should not be left uninsured for that amount of time while my "request is considered"
