      I had MetLife pet insurance. When I needed to take my cat to the vet on account of vomiting and diarrhea. The exam was pretty standard, the invoice and vet notes I was supplied were straghtforward. Then MetLife tried to say I didn't include the vet notes (but I did). They say it only takes 5-10 days for them to process a claim. I waited 2 weeks and still heard nothing from them. So, I call and ask what is taking them so long. They said they were finalizing my claim. I found out later they had closed my claim and didn't even notify me (yep just dropped it). I felt like they were just jerking me around. So, I had no interest in continuing to talk with them since I had come to see that their costomer service personnel were clearly not honest with their customers. Furthermore I stopped paying them for the policy. Why should I give one more red cent to an insurance company that doesn't uphold their end of things and doesn't compensate their customers claims in accordance with the policies they are paying for? I won't give MetLife any more of my money or my business.

      My husband died two months ago and MetLife has not approved his life insurance claim over two months later. **************** says "it is being reviewed." What is there to review? I sent the death certificate along with the claim. Terrible. My husband had a Critical Illness policy as well. He died from *** and kidney failure. I sent all the documentation. They are doing everything to avoid paying that claim also. My husband worked for a very large corporation, and I will be informing them of the poor service from MetLife.

      The customer service is terrible. I waited on hold for mins for a girl to tell me they haven't received my updated paperwork. Then she said they did receive it. I asked to speak with supervisor and she hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and was transferred to voicemail. People's lively hoods are at stake, and MetLife hires people who lack empathy and want to pass you around in the call tree. TRASH!!!!!! I do not recommend them ever! This is the 2nd time I had to file a claim and it's never easy or cut and dry. There's ALWAYS a miscommunication from the staff. If you don't have an hour to waste, and still don't get your questions answered.

      Spent months waiting on my checks to come in for my maternity leave after being tossed around whenever I call them to ask about it. Spent HOURS on hold only to get paid out for 2 weeks and then withhold the rest of my money when I should've been paid out for 6. I was told that my case manager was supposed to reach out to me but it has been over 2 months now and I have not received a single call from this person.

      My Mother had a life insurance policy with MetLife and it has been almost 2 months since her death and they continue to ask for the same information over and over. They state that it has been received, then a week later state that they have not received it and need it. Each time we call we get a different story and are told it will be "7-10 more days". They are blaming the Funeral Home, but we are able to see where the funeral home has sent all that is needed. I have been through this with 3 other loved ones and always paid within 2-3 weeks. (Of course the companies were not MetLife.) They told the funeral home now they are waiting on a 2nd beneficiary, but told us that there were only one beneficiary, which is correct. I will never use this company again, and will make sure everyone knows the heartache that it has been to collect, so no one else has to experience this.

      They are so slow at processing your pets claim! They find every excuse to deny it for more information. Then they take forever to reprocess it! Find a different pet insurance company! This company is terrible. **************** is not very helpful either.

      Denied claim 10 months after submitting. All calls are routed to call centers outside the ***. Nobody ever calls you back when promised. This is supposed to be an American Healthcare Company? Not having insurance is the same as having MetLife dental insurance.

      I have been going back and forth with them for almost a year now. My child is double covered for dental and per the divorce decree I am supposed to carry insurance on her. So my ex husband who just recently added her to his insurance. Now Met Life is refusing to pay because they want to be found as the secondary but they cant. We have sent a mailed copy of my divorce decree and a faxed copy. They refuse to take an email and every time I call in they say there are no notes on my account and nobody knows what is going on. Now the oral surgeon is about to make me pay out of pocket. i have been with them for over 10 years and never I have I had the issues I have had with them this year. The phone bank people are rude its impossible to get them to call back. I had one man from the escalation team call me then hang up "on accident" when I called back in they refuse to let me speak to him and once again claimed there were no notes on my account. It has been frustrating to say the least.

      I had a dental exam done in January 2025 then I had treatment done in March 2025. Here we are in May and both my self and the dentist office have been trying to get Metlife to pay my claims. I have kept a log of all the dats and times I have called, And they tell me ***** business day it will get processed. If that was truly the case, my first claim would have been pain in January...

      Been trying for months to collect my deceased Fathers life insurance. They keep asking for more and different things. I had my Lawyer send them everything they asked for and still nothing. **************** is completely useless. I wish could leave less than 1 star rating. I read the other complaints here, I know I am not alone.
