****** keeps coming out of my paycheck for a policy that shows canceled every time I log in. My HR says that it shouldn't have been canceled and payments have been sent to Met life on my behalf. I was told it would take two months to fix, it has been two months and no progress. Frustrating that I am paying for policy that I cannot use.

I have been a registered nurse for 18 years with the same company. Out of the 18 years working for the same company I have had a diagnosis of depression. My son died at 6 years of age from meningitis, who wouldnt have some form of depression watching your son die? Metlife, after 18 years decided to reject my buy-up for short- term disability because of depression. What a heartless company! After receiving my masters degree in nursing in lieu of taking my boards in becoming a nurse practitioner, I cannot believe MetLife is AGAINST mental health and judging me after watching my son die on life support!

I had *** insurance coverage with Metlife for over 20 years. I switched jobs within the same company and when I continued with coverage, they responded that I had to have a physical and blood work and proceeded to deny my *** coverage stating I was a high risk. How can one be high risk when nothing has changed with their physical health and they have been covered previously? This was solely discrimination based upon age. This company is nothing shy of being a bunch of crooks that take your money and then find any excuse to either avoid paying or continuing coverage. Disgusting to say the very least! Every attempt at contacting them resulted in long waits on the phone, being placed on a never ending hold, or being hung up on. Avoid at all costs!!!!

I struggle with giving MetLife even one star. My company switched to MetLife STD during my leave following a major surgery. Prior we had ***************** as the STD provider. ***************** made the beginning of my leave smooth and flawless. As of January 1 2023, MetLife received all of my information from *****************, and I was told after the first week that they couldn't use the information from MetLife and was requesting their own information. Watch out when they say this because they say that they sent the request, but when asked three weeks later they did not request anything and I received no STD at that point. After they were caught for not acting, they sent the request but refuse to follow-up on their requests to doctor offices. If I hadn't called multiple times every week, I would've never known that they sent the request but then had fax issues. The funny part is the fax issue was on MetLife's side and since they don't follow-up they didn't know that it didn't go through until I asked them about it. So, yes, here I was trying to recover and enduring the stress that goes with not receiving any income due to MetLife's failures and having to monitor them. It was the worst experience. I don't recommend this company one bit. They do not care about their customers.

I called to report the death of a family member and their phone tree, which takes 2-3 minutes to navigate, eventually tells you they are too busy to take the call and hangs up on you. I was hung up on twice. In what universe is this acceptable or appropriate?

I have filed a claim on 2/8/2023. According to their documentation, claims are processed and reimbursements are mailed out with 15 business days. As of this 17th business day, my claim is still "in review" and there is never anyone available to answer my questions or to get resolution on this matter.

MetLife will do whatever they possibly can to avoid paying out on claims, including lie, fraudulently change claim information, not document correspondence, not process claims, and ensure their website does not work I have been dealing with MetLife since 2016, when I went on FMLA. They routinely fail to tell you what documents are needed to process your claims. If you ask, they'll tell you they want A, B, and C, but then deny your claim because you did not provide A, B, C, D, and E. They will not call you to make sure they get these documents. If your doctor is the one required to send them, MetLife will not request these from your doctor. You must do so yourself. If your doctor ***** them, MetLife won't accept them. You must get them from your doctor and fax them yourself. It makes no sense. They want it both (read: neither) ways. Once your claim is denied, they'll tell you that you can appeal your claim, and that it will take 90 days. Expect to wait the full 90 days and have them deny the claim again The above also applies to short term disability For dental claims, expect them to approve the claim the day you get the service done, and then deny the claim a year or two later. Expect to receive bills from your dentist around two years after the date of service Don't expect to use the website. It does not work. If you log in on mobile, you won't be able to access your account. It's just a blank white page that will never load. If you've had MetLife through current and previous employers, do not expect to be able to access your current account until you quit your job. MetLife won't show you your account for current employers online. Their account switch option won't show it, and you will not be able to register for a new account Their call center is horrible. You can call in, but they won't document your call. The agents lie and/or provide false information. This is especially true of intermittent FMLA claims There's more, but I've reached the character limit

I had to have surgery done on both of my arms (terrible decision) on January 25th. I started the claim January 18th so I could have the ball rolling. Well I was approved but I didn't start getting payments until a week later which was only approved for 2 weeks. 1 check was for ****** and the next was ******. I was told I had to request an ************** would take 5 business days. Ok, cool. My Doctor faxed over documents on the 13th.Today is the 23rd and my claim still states in review. I been calling every day because I still have bills. My electric is being shut off on Monday, I have kids. I requested 2 call backs still waiting ?? I know 1 thing, I'm dropping this policy and going with *****.

My grandfather recently passed. I filled out all required paperwork and over nighted a certified copy of the death certificate. After several calls, I keep getting told that the death certificate has not been received. I provided the tracking information and the name of the person who signed for it. I have repeatedly been told they are looking into it and have made a ticket to investigate. I am always told to call back in 2-3 business days but get the same response each time I call. This has been going on for weeks.
