We regret that this customer had a poor experience with our **********************. When a customer files a claim, we are required to gather information to determine whether they satisfy the provisions of the policy. In this case, we show that the claim was approved on 12/15/23 and the customer has been receiving monthly *** benefits since that time. The policy requires continued proof of Disability and the customers cooperation with gathering the information. We encourage the customer to work with his Claim Manager to ensure the ongoing receipt of their benefits. Should the customer have any concerns, they may contact our Claim Manager, ****, for assistance.

They have denied twice FMLA for taking care of my mother while she was dying. My mother had terminal cancer plus mental illness and multiple organ failure, believe or not they open the case twice because first time their excuse was for me not sending medical records in time, which it wasnt true because they never sent any message requesting my mother medical records. After that I called them and we re open the case and the next day *************** sent all info they have requested, and we got a confirmation that they received the fax. My mother had not medical insurance so she was not be able to apply for any medical insurance and she was 24/7 under my care the last 2 months before she passed away. They have denied even it was ************ me to keep the job. It wasnt a disability Claim. Worse experience ever.

To be in insurance you have to have some sort of empathy and respect towards clients whether they been with NYL for 5 minutes or 50 years. The Claims Manager working on my wife's FMLA/ STD case has been nothing short of rude and extremly disrespectful towards her from start to finish. My wife was having an issue with some paperwork NYL submitted for her STD claim to the state, my wife called in to speak to the Claims Manager to see if they can get the issue rectified OR see what needs to be done to get it rectified, not that tall of an order I must say right? The Claims Manager did nothing to help at all and when speaking to her on the phone had a very condescending tone and extremly bad attitude even going as far as telling my wife "if you don't like it thats not my problem", I could NOT believe this. It's unfortunate that her co pany works with NYL in scenarios like this, its even more unfortunate that I'm not directly dealing with NYL because if I was I'd tell that Claims Manager some choice words of my own. Have more respect for your clients you c*** and maybe you wouldn't be so miserable yourself.

Submitted and was approved for short-term disability for recovery from surgery at a 66% rate. First of all, NY Life errored and only paid me at a 33% rate, which hopefully they will fix. Second, they never mentioned to me that I also had to file for a state disability to get the extra 170 dollars to hit the full 66% rate. All in all, currently Im only getting paid at a 10% rate under $100 per week, even though my paperwork says they are paying me 66%. In my time of need Im let down by a company that would seem to be reputable, but Im not so sure now.

We regret that the customer had a poor experience with our **********************. We understand his frustration and hope he can understand it is our goal to administer the policy according to its terms. The policy provides a weekly benefit of *****% of the customers Covered Earnings. Covered Earnings are obtained from his Employer at the initiation of the claim. Correction of Covered Earnings was recently received, and an adjustment was issued to the customer on March 27, 2024. Should the customer have any questions, they may contact our Claim Manager, ***** for further assistance.

NYL group benefit solutions only solves delaying payments and shorting you of what you pay for. They are the slowest responders and constantly saying they havent received all necessary paperwork needed to process your claim, no matter how many times we fax it to them with confirmation of their retrieval, email pdf documents, etc. I highly recommend that you find a different insurance company because this company goes above and beyond to do all they can to make sure you dont get the benefits you pay for. When you are on short term disability and have bills to pay, NYL group benefit solutions will leave you high and dry when you need the benefits youve paid for the most.

I have been out for short-term disability for a cardiac issue then turned into a vision issue, which caused me to lose vision in both eyes, enough that I could not see. I underwent a series of injections over months while healing from the cardiac issue to have optical surgery which is scheduled for ***** My short-term disability (covered by the state) ended at the end of Feb. My employer then contacted NY Life and started the process of Long Term Disability to see me through until I can return to work in a few months. What started off as what I thought was a nice transparent website where I could see my claim and keep in communication with my Claim accountant ****** was just the opposite. I have preemptively uploaded Drs letters stating I cannot drive, and the expected date to return to work .. after I get the surgery, the date of my surgery, and my forms all filled out. I received 1 call from my rep ****** which I missed because I was at my Drs ****, and have been repeatedly attempting to get in contact with her for days now, no callback, I can't send her a message on the website, and no one else can talk to me to progress the claim. I have no income coming in , I have no way of paying my mortgage or my bills, credit cars, utilities, or keeping my benefits paid. The projected dates they give you on processing your claims is UNREALISTIC. The fact that no one else can talk to you about your case or what else is needed is ridiculous .. one more day I could be working on something that is needed for progressing my claim. This seems to be what someone else said a stall tactic. They get paid to provide a service for people that really don't want to have to be want to be using long term disability. but when we need it, NYLife do your job.

Beyond frustrated with NewYork Life! Im still waiting to receive a check from them after making several calls, almost daily. I have a case manager assigned to me and have only been able to speak to her once, every time I call its a new person. My drs office and myself have sent all documents and requested forms at least three times, as I was told each time it wasnt received (even though drs office received confirmation it was received). Was finally *********** was eventually found and would send check asapbut now asking for more notes and will have to wait several more days to make sure they receive the notes and then wait longer for it to be approved and then hopefully will get a checkThis has been going on for several weeks, still waiting! *

I was diagnosed with several disabilites covered under the *** act. I have been diagnosed through multiple evaluations/tests and received conclusive diagnosis from multiple doctors, all specialists in their field. I followed all recommendations from my doctors. I struggled while continuing to work in extreme pain, fatigue, migraine headaches and among other debilitating factors. With the support of psychotherapy, specialists, physical and clinical therapy, and pharmacotherapy, and progressing through a pain clinic to help with my symptoms and conditions, I follow every medical protocol to help with my conditions to get back to work. Recently, I had a decline in my mental health with an additional diagnosis, and had major surgery to still be in pending status on my claim. the claim process is broken by NYL Insurance. My long-term disability case is still pending they are delaying/still reviewing eligibility since October. I haven't had any income since 11/22/2023. I have used every resource to pay my bills. It is now to the point that I have to request a deferment on my mortgage loan, car loan, and credit card loan. Prior to this, I had an excellent credit rating. When I talk to my case manager, she blames me, or my doctors, for the delay. Claims adjuster states that they have not received medical documentation, my doctors confirm exact times and dates documentation was sent. Im told they are still waiting on or need certain documents. Then my claims adjuster finds it with annoyance that it was loaded in the wrong place? On their end. files state no longer seeking paperwork and that the documentation is incomplete when no one states what is missing and my doctors reassure me everything requested has been sent. No follow up unless I call! The Patient Portal is useless. NYL notes the patient can obtain the medical information to expedite the process, no access to any information. System is set up for failure. NYL does not want to pay, delay after delay.

We regret that the customer had a poor experience with our **********************. We understand her frustration and hope she can understand it is our goal to administer the policy according to its terms. On March 21, 2024, our Claim Manager spoke with the customer and advised that the claim is being denied as the available medical records fail to provide sufficient evidence to support that shes Disabled according to the policy terms. Once the determination is finalized, a letter will be sent to the customer. Should the customer have any concerns, they may contact our Claim Manager, **********, for assistance

I would like to give zero stars. I had a pretty good experience until my worker switched to ********. I have given her everything she has asked for and yet it is still pending. This feels like retaliation for me advocating for myself. I made ******** mad and now she is retaliating against me. She asks for the information and I give it to her and then she asks for it again. She has asked me the same question over and over again and then she says she has to speak to her superiors. Then nothing. Two weeks ago she said she approved the claim yet nothing. So I call her back and she said it was kicked back because of further information she needed which I provided. Then she said she would call me back in ten minutes and actually called me back two days later. My first worker already asked for the preexisting conditions information way back in December and already cleared that. I dont understand if they work for the same company why my new worker cant access this information. None of this makes sense and I am considering having my sister who is a lawyer get involved.

We regret that the customer had a poor experience with our **********************. We understand her frustration and hope she can understand it is our goal to administer the plan according to its terms. Based on the policy provisions, we determined the customer was subject to a pre-existing condition limitation investigation. The policy also requires that we receive proof that the customer is Disabled according to the policy terms. We acknowledge there was a delay with making a decision on the claim. However, we approved the claim on March 15, 2024 through her return to work date. Benefits were issued on March 15, 2024 and the customer was notified of the approval. Should the customer have any questions, they may contact our Claim Manager, for assistance.

I thought fighting cancer was bad. Fighting New York Life has been worse. They changed my return to work date based on their estimate. Not my doctor's. I called February 21st to straighten it out. My doctor's ****** and I both sent what we thought were the correct forms. The forms that were provided by NYLife. 2-weeks later, my paycheck was zero. I've spoke to at least 6 different Reps many who are from out of the country. I thought the info was lost in translation. Apparently not. I've called my nurse several times with no return call. ****** has told me that my paperwork was ok yet, they tell my employer that it is lacking information.I'm a supervisor where I work. One of my direct reports is out as well and has missed a check as well. My daughter is out on maternity leave. She has missed 2 checks.
