I have had nothing except the run around regarding long term disability. I can't get an answer of why the *** did not automatically start after the *** ended. NO ONE KNOWS OR ANSWERS THEIR PHONE. All I want is my *** to kick in. I feel the *** does NOT want to pay out any money.

The customer service is absolutely ridiculous!!! Or should I say the LACK of customer service is ridiculous! I couldn't get anyone on the phone to answer one simple question. I literally spent an entire afternoon on the phone and was still unable to get my question answered. I have had short-term disability insurance with every company I have ever been employed with and because of the runaround that I have had with **** I will no longer be signing up for this benefit.... What a shame.

I was put on Medical in May and the company I work for has them listed for STD. I opened a claim On May 30 to activate the policy. Around the middle of June, they paid out for 1 week. I assume it will be a weekly payment but as the weeks went by, found out it wasnt. Been in contact with customer service several days a week and its always they waiting on paper work from my Dr. I personally took in every form they mailed out and faxed them out myself. They confirmed that they got everything since I always follow up. Been leaving vmails for my case manager about every week since June and still to this day, not one call back. Finally got a advocate that was able to reach her throw chat and I was told that the medical team TYPED out some questions and sent to my Dr and they didnt get it back yet. I told them several times that its going to a VA facility and asked for the questions to be mailed to me or sent via email. After that, I just got a different form with the same questions. Got it filled out n turned in. Checked back, same thing. Asked again for the questions to be mailed. Wrote a statement and sent in asking for the same thing. Checked back in to see they closed my case without payment. Reason is because they didnt get the questions back that I been requesting they mail to me. Now I gotta go through my job to appeal their decision before I take action against the company. This is absolute BS and Im still not released back to work smh. This company has gots to be the absolute worst to work with in your time of need. Being on medical leave, they sure do not make this process any helpful at all. Will definitely discontinue payments to them because of this service. Will pay out of pocket for a better company.

My company's third party associate filed my short term disability claim through NY Life in Apr. I waited till June for any updates about my claim. I called and they told me my claim was inactive - for 2 months and nobody contacted me for any information. They activated for me and said I will be contacted if they need anything from me. I was not called for another month. I called the 2nd time. This time they said they have been waiting on my physician's medical request form. They still told me to wait as they will escalate the case and follow up with my physician. I called my physician's office and NY Life every week to check if they receive any requests from NY Life and they never received anything. It turned out NY Life has the wrong contact number on file. I gave them the correct one and requested them to fax AND email the request form to my physician's office. They never did. And my physician's office gave me the form and faxed one to NY Life without NY Life requesting it. And I called again to follow up. My normal claim manager, Sr. claim manager, case team lead are all on leave for another 2 weeks. Till now, my claim has been opened for more than 4 months and I have already gone back to work. Along the way, I have been calling my claim manager ******* and he never picked up the phone. I left many voice messages and he never called back. Everything in this process is an absolute disappointment. I rate 1 star for the customer advocate. They've done nothing wrong and they are polite and empathetic. They do not have any power for anything though. Very bad experience and I wish I could have not used this company's service.

***** lost all credibility when selling out to New York Life. It is a useless disaster and waste of time. Hire an attorney and be prepared to get no response and continual lies from case management. Trying to reach a supervisor is impossible. If your employer uses them go find ************** to protect yourself.

I opened a policy in 2019 when they came to my work. They constantly changed reps and when a new rep came out in 2021 when I told her to increase my contribution from 10 to ******************************************************** that's what she was doing. I only found out because I have since left that employer and now have to pay my own premium instead of it coming out of my paycheck. Her name is Madison ***** so if you ever come across her, be careful

It is a waste of money. They work hard to find every reason not to pay a claim. My wife could not get into her RA doctor for four weeks and he sent them a fax saying she was unable to work for 12 more. They paid the first four weeks but stopped after that saying there were no medical grounds. They could not tell us what the criteria for paying the first four weeks was.We appealed and saw a new RA doctor who did extensive testing and faxed the results to them. They denied our appeal and it was apparent they did no investigation or follow up. We asked for an appeal extension and again had our doctor send them our entire file. Today we get a call saying they had received nothing and are closing our file. It was only a few thousand dollars so they know we wont hire a lawyer for that. We spent numerous hours and a lot of effort trying to comply with their requests but it was a goose chase. ******, our last contact, was less than helpful and always called before 7 a.m. before we were up. They should get negative stars.

i would give zero stars. We have this Insurance thru our company. i had surgery and needed 5-6 weeks off. I started the claim early, called to make sure they have everything they need. called a week before the surgery and then again the day before the surgery to let them know. Surgery was on 05/19/2022. after 2 weeks of not hearing anything i called and was told the check is on its way. after 3 days i checked my status online and no check number and said it is in progress so i called again. said they don't have all the information so we went over this again. confirmed with our HR department that they have everything they need. after 4 weeks nothing again, so i called again and had a young man, that went above and beyond but couldn't help me, tried everything to get my Claim manager or a supervisor (go figure they didn't want to deal with it) and told me they would call me back. nothing happened. Week 5 i get my claim manager on the phone and i see that they changed the claim to not pay for the first week. My claim manager then tells me my surgery was on 05/26/2022. I said no i had surgery on the 19th and have paperwork to prove it. then she checks again and apologized and changed it to the right date. said check will come but it will take 10 days!!!! called my manager and she contacted the HR, and they called the Insurance company. check came 5 days later in week 6. so far i have spoken to at least 8 coworkers that had the same experience and i am sure seeing all the comments that there are many more. will have a meeting with our HR department and see if they really wanna do business with an Insurance company that is so sketchy. our Company is all over the world so i really hope they dump them and find a better Insurance company. also the last week i did not get any money from them said they didn't get my paperwork (go figure). i wanted to do a long term disability Insurance thru them and my work. i will look private and will stay away from them.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I have been denied obtaining a Short Term Disability Policy with New York Life Insurance/***** because I told them on the Evidence of Insurability Form for Disability insurance that I had anxiety/depression. I am not even filing a claim, just trying to obtain the policy offered through my employer. What a JOKE!! I have generalized Anxiety Disorder for which I take routine low dose medication. My doctor even sent an appeal letter stating that this was a common condition that half of America has and they still denied. They won't discuss anything with you on the phone, don't return emails, just send you letters in the mail at their convenience. I LEFT A ONE STAR RATING BECAUSE ZERO STARS WAS NOT AN OPTION. I hope my employer chooses another company to provide these benefits moving forward.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would! I had the short-term and long-term disability insurance through my employer and ended up with a medical condition that will require the insurance transitioning from the ST to the LT. I have been trying to get someone to answer the phone or call me back for weeks, my social worker has been trying to get someone to answer the questions and everyone is so rude and no one seems to know what is going on! If you have to deal with them I pray "********" isn't your case manager because that girl has more PTO than she does hours required at work! She's never there and NEVER returns calls! I am now facing the transition time and have no idea how I'm going to cover my bills since I don't even know when the claim will change over and what I need to do to get it changed over. This place is just ridiculous! If you have an option get coverage somewhere else!
