      I am sitting here with my daughter who has jumped through hoops with New York Life Short Term Disability for over a month and after endless wait times and numerous voicemails gets a letter in her account saying they have not yet received the faxed information from her doctors. Her doctors have faxed the information 3 times! New York Life has definitely received the information. As stated in so many of these reviews, New York Life's motivation is to discourage you from pursuing payment to them. That is the TRUE mission of their "Advocates". Any corporation considering using NYL services is doing a disservice to their employees. F minus. Do not recommend. Getting ready to compose a letter to the attorney general. I hope charges or a class action lawsuit results.

      Sent in paperwork over 15 days ago, via my doctor. Still havent heard anything from them AND Ive sent emails and tried calling multiple times. This is ridiculous. We dont work for you, you work for us, so do your **** jobs!

      This company handles short term disability claims for my company and they do pay out . **************** is not very helpful and will hang up on you

      What ever you do , dont buy new york life insurance on a spouse.. me and my spouse was together for over 10 yrs and I took a policy out on him in 2017 with my work job they knew we wasn't married and knew we lived together and took my money every 2 weeks for the policy , well come last year my spouse passed away unexpectedly and I turned the policy in and lord and behold they said oh you wasn't married and so we can't approve it but took my money the whole time we was together and he was alive .. I will never ; ever use this insurance company again because they fooled me out of alot of money and shame on them .

      New York life/*****, they can’t decide what name to go by they can’t pay me. Checks say they have been delivered but I don’t have mine . Case manager ******* will not return calls. Out on short term and paperwork reviews sent in and now Of course they don’t want to pay so one or two little words they don’t have so they have an issue . Do you think a stage 3a cancer diagnosis changes???do you think taking chemo goes away ? Do you know the mental distress these people have put me through and I have no one to turn to for help and it’s like I’m not the first first person this has happened to .

      Not the best atleast in disability coverage atleast in my experience. I couldn't get approved because I wasn't basically crippling through my condition. They took 2 months just to tell me only this lol. 2 months to deny me. Make sure you have your doctors notate very detailed information, be smart about what you tell your doctors because they will go off of exactly their words like that I can walk just fine and disregard everything else lol and not so much your journey through what you're going through. God forbid you have any invisible disabilities. My spine is deteriorating and I suffer from pain daily but because I'm not dependent on others, even when I have no one to depend on or wasn't using devices It wasn't enough to get me approved. Thanks NYL, forever a disappointing experience.

      I just recently had a baby via c section my claim manager ***** has refused to call me back, I have left multiple messages expressing my concern that he has sent me the same paper for my dr to fill out which they have filled out completely and sent over and I have to keep getting in my car after having a major surgery to take papers to my dr I called the office to speak to anyone since my claim manager is in the office and never able to take my phone calls and wont return them to sit on hold for a hour for a representative to be rude and hang up on me after I asked to speak with a supervisor. Now I am receiving threatening letters saying they are going to close out my case because my dr ***** provided enough information which is untrue. This place needs to be investigated and the employees need better communication skills it literally takes 2 minutes to explain why they are having issues. I have also called and let them know what kind of delivery I have had and the date and the recent paper work states that I have not provided that information to them which is also untrue. I want to file a complaint with the business bureau and will get an attorney and take lawful action.

      I filed for STD back in March 2022 and never heard from the company. I sent several emails requesting an update on my STD claim but never received a response. I have called and left the case manager messages with no response. i was told that the case manager called and requested information from me. I never received a call from the case manager or a voicemail. Now today I receive a letter regarding *** which I don't understand because my STD claim has not been processed. At this point I am going to contact the insurance commission to make a compliant and an attorney for help. T

      Absolutely needs investigated by the insurance commission ! They never had any issues taking a deduction from my paycheck for STD and *** insurance but when it's time to pay for a claim they require a claim update every 3 weeks or they close your claim out even though I've had multiple Dr's send in disability claims stating I'd be off a minimum of 3 months which now turned into indefinitely with a cancer diagnosis and major surgery coming with chemo possibly to follow, They want documentation of every doctors visit with prognosis and medications regardless of what doctors originally wrote for the claim,God forbid your appointments are more than 3 weeks apart or they close your claim ! Case managers are worthless refusing to answer phone calls, never return calls left on answering machines ! Send out notifications in the mail hoping your claim will expire before you are notified, ask for email address never use it. They are scamming people who don't have the health to play their games, Again they need investigates by Insurance commission and anyone that in connected to insurance scamming !!!!

      I have not received a check from them for 7 weeks already. Last check was $36. They could not even explain how they came up with their dollar amount. Also. they keep saying well we didn't get this form or release or whatever. I uploaded every doctor note to them. Still nothing. Like other reviews state they will do anything not to pay you. I've never had issues with other disability companies. I WOULDN'T USE THIS COMPANY IF I HAD A CHOICE FOR ANYTHING.. Unfortunately this is who my employer chose.
