I needed a website and ended up going with Squarespace, and this is by far the worst business Ive ever dealt with. As soon as I got someone on the phone, I was rushed and pressured by a very aggressive Indian man named **** to buy a specific package that includes everything needed to run a ********** first question to him was whether I could get a refund if I wasnt satisfied. He immediately said, Yes, absolutelyno questions asked. So, I proceeded with the purchase. The very next day, I received a call saying I needed to purchase all sorts of additional things before they could even start building the website! When I asked for specifics on what I actually needed, they began talking down to me as if I were an idiot and then abruptly said theyd just call me ******** this point, I was already unhappy with the service, so I requested a refund to take my business elsewhere. I was then transferred to a higher-up who told me he didnt think I deserved a refund because they hadnt started the website yet. He claimed they could only cancel if I wasnt satisfied with the final product.I explained that I already didnt like the service and wanted to cancel, reminding him that **** had said I could do so at any time. When I mentioned that I would take legal action if they didnt refund my money, he laughed and said, Good luck. This happens every day, and our lawyers are way better than anything you can affordso well win anyway this is absolutely insane that apparently this is happening every day to small businesses and it needs to stop!

Horrible customer service - I have been trying to gain access to my domain since they took over from ******************. They charged me for the domain and then somehow transferred it to another registrar - stay way from this company if you want your business to stay online.

SQUARESPACE. DO NOT BUILD your site with Squarespace. They held onto to 10k then released it. My account was find and now they need to verify it again and are holding onto ANOTHER 10k. I have a thread of 26 emails to support and reached out to their customer “support” on X. This company is totally fraud. They can turn off releasing your funds to you and claim it’s for verification on ALREADY verified accounts. They are corrupt.

Been a loyal, paying subscriber for my site since 2014. Was wanting to apply a custom template design to my existing website. Squarespace hasn't developed a simple way to do this. Instead, they have the custom template set up as a separate "trial" website. You'd then have to transfer your existing domain and pay for a brand new site. The catch is, since I've been a member since 2014, I'm currently on a legacy subscription. Doing this would lose my legacy subscription plan and force me to pay more for a brand new plan since they increased their pricing. I did not want any new features or changes to my existing plan. All I wanted was to apply a custom template to my existing site. Yet Squarespace requires all these additional steps and expects to charge you more for doing so. The chat associate that did not help whatsoever was named ******** *.

Squarespace has no clue about creating websites for success with ******, which is what websites are all about. Their support staff {online only. no live support} must just type in issues and allow AI to respond. Unfortunately, their AI isn't loaded with correct info either. Been struggling with issues for several months, and they just don't get it. Even the basics of web search.

I must add yet another bad review with little hope of a resolution from Squarespace. Ive recently started having issues with their templates glitching out randomly from one browser and device to another, having to spend many hours troubleshooting or eventually compromising my design to avoid the problem. At first I thought I was just not experienced enough but after trying out many different templates including the newest update I realized its caused by poor software on their end. Even the help page is glitchy and goes into an endless refresh cycle when you most need to search for a solution. If you have hours to spend searching through help topics you can eventually find a helpful how-to but they are buried and nonintuitive. The biggest fail is in their billing and domains area which often makes the experience of starting a new website sheer h*** I just signed up a client with Squarespace and Im deeply regretting it. For a company that offers ZERO live support youd think their self-service would be stellar. But you cant correct anything on your own, the steps are poorly explained or not at all, and the chat support is perpetually down. The only option is to send an email and waitIm now on day 5 of waiting and running up against my website getting deleted. Not surprisingly, you cant move or export your site elsewhere so youre trapped with a company that takes your money and runs. Dont be fooled by their new launch promising improvements and new features, or their positive incentivized reviews by the likes of ******. This is a company that doesnt care about its customer base OR is so poorly run that it cant deliver its services properly.

The current business status of squarespace should be illegal. We have clients who's businesses are almost literally shut down because they cannot access their domains & billing (recently migrated to squarespace after their purchase of ****** Domains.)Squarespace has NO customer support... at all. Around the time of the ****** purchase, instead of actually hiring extra customer support and technical support (since you are about to be involved in a massive very technical process) they removed all forms of support except an email ticket - which either takes days or never gets responded to at all. After we experienced this a very quick search on both their ******** page and reddit shows that hundreds of people (just the ones posting) are going through this. Business cannot interact with their customers, process orders... nothing.Having no customer support or real technical support under the conditions of their migration seems like legal negligence as there are many real people experiencing real quantifying suffering over this.

It's not all bad. Their service at least exists. But they do just a bit less than the absolute minimum for their ******** main issue is as follows: the company that managed my domain name sold all of its registrations to Squarespace. My previous registrar allowed the use of Dynamic DNS updates (DDNS). Squarespace does not. Since not having **** was a dealbreaker for me, I had to move my domain outside of Squarespace. The transfer can take up to five days, but between big companies it usually takes less than an hour. It's been just over five days. The domain is marked as "pending transfer" on ***** and on my new registrar's site. Squarespace says that the transfer can take up to fifteen days. I have not found any other company that claims that its transfers can take that ******* appears that Squarespace is trying to make transfers from its own registration system to another as slow as possible, maybe in an attempt to keep customers by making the transfer process as irritating as they can. I have no way of proving this, of course, but given what I've managed to find about the respective delays of Squarespace and every other similar company, I think it would be very strange if anything more fair-minded were the **************'s seem short-sighted and naive to use frustration and inconvenience as a tactic to keep customers.Furthermore, my domain is about to expire. If the transfer took five days, that would not be a problem. Neither would ten days. But if it's a full fifteen days, particularly if it's fifteen weekdays, that will be a real problem. My only recourse would be to cancel the transfer, renew it on Squarespace, and try the transfer again. This would allow them to keep their cut of the renewal fee.If this is what they are betting on, I'd say that it may be outright fraudulent and a form of abuse of the power their services grants them.If others agree with this assessment, it may be worth looking into.

The company is maliciously trying to charge me for a subscription I know I cancelled. This is typical of a "clever" tech company that has gotten too big for its britches. Buyer BEWARE. Even with proof of cancellation they will try every excuse under the sun to keep your money. For such a "successful" company you would think they wouldn't be so egregiously eager to keep $200 they are not owed. Take your business over to *** or any other website hosting company. The ** is better elsewhere anyway.
