I was on Paid Family Leave. ** week program. It took 7 weeks to process my claim and every time I called to check in. Always a different answer from a different agent. My mom passed away I was caring for, week #** they cancelled my benefits and made me pay back the remainder balance for week #**, she died half way through the week, weekly pay, then completely no pay on last week of leave #**.

Stay away from this company if youre going on short/long term disability! I have been recovering from a surgery since December 18, 2023. Its February 2 **** and I had only received one payment. I am a diabetic and I am struggling to pay for my medication and my bills. They havent been helpful at all. I have been hung up on and given the runaround. I regret ever trusting such a horrible company. They took my money from my checks on time while I was working, but when I needed them, they were no help. ****** learned. Hopefully someone will learn from my mistake with this terrible company. Its a toss up and I wouldnt bet on them ever again.

By far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Every time I have to renew my FMLA, which they make me do every 6 months, there is an issue. This time they lost my paperwork and didn't notify me. Within 2 weeks they are supposed to notify with an acceptance or denial. When that 2 weeks was over and I called my dr to make sure the paperwork was sent and they told me they had a confirmation letter I decided to call guardian and guess what. It was lost. No kidding. Lost? You didn't notify me that it wasn't received within the 2 week time frame that you push for insanely hard yet its just lost? With all my information on there? Just misplaced? Thrown away? You don't know, just not in your system. So I get written up at work and the reason being is guardian claims they never got my paperwork. Hiw come I have a confirmation letter it was received? I absolutely hate dealing with them and wish my company stopped using them. Not one person I've spoken to at my work has had a good experience dealing with them. Its always headaches and hassle. Thanks for losing my stuff again.

Horrible experience!!!! They locked out my account (I do know my log in info) and I can't access it for days. I called today customer support, spent 45 min on the phone, spoke to NINE!!!! reps and still can't review my account. What a mess!!!!!

I am a dentist and I took a disability policy with this company and I am writing to make other consumers aware of their bad business practices. The agent completely misrepresented the policy, he assured me that the policy would protect me if I lost my income as a dentist but was still able to teach or do consulting. This is even the language on their website. Now that I am disabled they are telling me that my part time teaching and consulting income count as own occupation and will count against my benefits. I was disabled in a car accident a year ago and they are still processing my claim. They have created unnecessary delays, they have misinformed me about the claims process, they request information and then change the information they need and keeping adding to the list of documents required. Just last week they requested new information that I could have provided a year ago. They are pressuring me to undergo procedures for my pain that are life threatening and could cause permanent paralysis. I would not recommend this company to anyone considering disability insurance. I have faithfully paid my premiums even during the difficult Covid pandemic when I was shut down, and now that I need the benefits they are showing themselves as the unethical company that they are. My advice: Stay Away from Guardian Berkshire.

Horrible company. Just taking Premiums and not helping. For a tooth surgery they only reimbursed $65 because they feel that is fair and reasonable.

During my companies open enrollment period, I had a question regarding a previous existing injury and whether or not it would be covered. I was told to call because the person handling questions on site, didn't know the answer. After being transferred 3 times and put on extended holds twice...my question was passed UP to the supervisory level with an expected answer in ***** hours so I could still make changes during open enrollment. That was over a week ago and I still have no answer, no email, no message, no voicemail, no contact through my employer....Nothing!So, I have to realize that even the company doesn't know it's own policy. Or they just hoped I would sign up for a "benefit" that would not pay a cent when needed most.I didn't sign up since they, Guardian, obviously don't care about you once they have your commitment to pay.I recommend getting a petition together at your workplace to stop them from using Guardian. This company is clearly just collecting payments with no intention of ever paying out.

After my first phone conversation with **** at Guardian I immediately knew that they were a scam company and would find a reason to deny payments on my disability claim .I was diagnosed with AML and all they're asking for is redundant information from me my doctors and HR at my job. They also ask for meaningless information like activities of daily living.work history and training. This company is good at being scam artist and have no compassion for someone who is fighting for their life. I hate this company.they are only pouring salt on my wounds.

TERRIBLE. I confirmed with BOTH the insurance company and the practice that a regular dentist check up would be in-network before my visit - that's a key reason I decided to go to *************** in *********. However, I received a $115 bill afterwards bc apparently it's actually NOT in-work. After many conversations with inept, scripted Guardian representatives, they clarified that the old dentist (****************) is in-network, though he left 5 yrs ago, while the new dentist (*********************) is out-of-network. Their website has both names listed as in-network - they said they're not responsible for maintaining up-to-date information on their site and claim it's the responsibility of the practice (what the heck?!) Needless to say, my insurance claim and appeal were NOT approved despite clear evidence that this was MISLEADING info and totally UNFAIR.

Horrible company! Ripoff! I had two crowns put in based on recommendation of my dentist whom I trust. Aprox 1/2 of the $1500 claim should have been covered by Guardian dental. They refused to pay anything. Despite sending photos and x-rays showing the cracks, they refused to pay. ************************* is the dentist who denied the claim and she is focused soley of corporate profits and NOT on assisting humans with receiving necessary dental procedures.
