    I signed up with Talkiatry as a way that I could receive convenient and affordable online therapy for issues relating to anxiety and depression. I was led to believe that I could have online counseling after having an initial evaluation with a psychiatrist. After having my first appointment randomly cancelled, I was able to make another appointment. I spent 40 minutes with a psychiatrist online as part of their intake for first-time patients and was told that I could have counseling and medication and asked which I preferred. I responded that I was not interested in medication and that I only wanted counseling, and the psychiatrist told me she would write up a referral. After a few days of not hearing anything, I emailed Talkiatry and was told they were looking into things, and then a few days later, I was emailed a list of local counselors in my area to contact. I responded back that I was under the understanding that I could receive online counseling through them and was told that I could only get this if I had agreed to medication. So, now I received a bill that was initially ****** when billed to my insurance and 300 of that was for therapy that I did not receive. I spoke with a representative over the phone and was told that since the psychiatrist has asked me questions about my childhood and my reason for seeking therapy, she added an extra code on top of the intake. They provided me with nothing beyond a diagnosis of "generalized anxiety" and "PTSD" with a list of people to call, but billed my insurance for 700, and I would need to pay ****** of that.

    The preliminary online assessment is designed as a tool for Talkiatry to help determine whether their services are "right" for you prior to moving forward. I gave all of the information that would've been necessary to determine that they would not be able to provide the only service I was seeking, yet I passed the assessment. I was advised that my medications were accessible through Talkiatry and that I'd be connected with a psychiatrist who would be able to prescribe/manage them, and those things were false. Talkiatry ultimately neglected to inform me of their guaranteed lack of ability to provide what I reported to be seeking in order to ensure I scheduled an appointment. I've now (5 months later) been billed in excess of $400 just for that doctor to tell me that Talkiatry couldn't help **** reached out to the ****************** explaining the situation and they did not address any of the misinformation I was given leading up to the appointment, or the failure of the online assessment to do the only thing it was designed to do. After they asserted it'd be impossible for them to waive/reduce the bill, they also refused to resubmit the claim for a service more in line with what I received. Even having let them know I couldn't afford the bill, they have not offered any assistance or a payment plan. Talkiatry's business practices are predatory, and they deserve to be shut down for misleading/lying to vulnerable people who are seeking mental healthcare in order to line their pockets.

    This business acknowledged a billing error and now they are threatening to send me to collections for the amount of their billing error. They will not respond to my emails with names, dates and exact emails in regards to this. They are harassing me for this again and I will *** them if they do not acknowledge their error and nothing is done to prevent this from happening to others.

    Visit was 12/21/2023. I reached out to talkiatry to bill my 2 insurances on April 15. As of July 2 2024 this has no occurred. This is pure negligence on the part of this business.

    Twice after spending hours on the phone and on the computer submitting paperwork, they cancelled two appointments stating the provider did not treat my condition. It was stated on the website that the provider did treat my condition.

    Dr I met with refused to help me after meeting for the full time allotted. All of this was provide in the paperwork provided prior to the appointment. I was charged for an appointment with him regardless. I am paying off a $400 bill for no medical advice and unable to afford another appointment elsewhere. The Dr could have reviewed my intake paperwork and not taken the appointment if it was out of his scope of practice. Rather he met with me for over and hour ending the call stating he would not/ could not help me based on my previous diagnosis and already established medications.

    The wrote a review on ****** and the company posted and asked I email them. I contacted the company only for them to tell me they will not help me. It was a pointless exchanged in which they refused to do anything to help resolve the issue. I still have an unresolved bill for medical help this company lied about providing to me.

    On April 22nd 2023 I was seeing if there was availability for an appointment with a doctor through Talkiatry. Through the very misleading website setup I accidentally scheduled an appointment. I immediately attempted to call and cancel but they were closed due to it being the weekend. The website does not allow you to cancel online of course, because how would they stick people with late cancellations fees if they could schedule AND cancel online? On April 24th **************************** the morning and cancelled the appointment. I was assured that there would be no cancellation fee. Of course there was and I received a bill the next day for a $100 no show fee. I attempted to email and call with no answer. Today they sent the bill that I never should have received to collections. They need to get rid of this bill entirely because of their terrible business practices and no service was ever provided, plus I was assured by their own employees that there would be no fee to cancel.

    This is my 2nd complaint with the BBB against Talkiatry. I have asked Talkiatry 5 times to stop contacting me or I would pursue harassment charges. I have asked them to remove me from their system. I have rescinded consents. As of today, they have ignored my requests and continue to email me. I ask that Talkiatry do not contact me. I dont want to pursue criminal charges but I will if the harassment continues. I politely asked them to stop contacting me after three times as I felt harassed. Now its almost daily. This will be resolved by you or talkiatry immediately or I will take further action.

    I reached out and scheduled an appointment for a couple weeks from now. A couple hours later I received a call from a New York # that claimed to be calling on behalf of Talkiatry. They then requested I give personal identifying information before they could continue to speak with me. I asked if the call was being recorded, and they said yes. Florida law requires consent from all parties to record a call, and they did not divulge the recording up front. I was highly suspicious of any call that comes to me and then requires personal identifying information, as that is a very common way scammers collect additional info. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the representative hung up on me. I went to the website and called the number there, a very different one than had called me, and I cancelled my appointment. I don't want to use a company that has so many red flags when if comes to following the law and security protocols.

    Before my initial consult I spoke with an appointment coordinator on the phone. I told them I was **** go with another company but I was scheduled 2 weeks out and that they were gonna charge me 100 to start. They replied that they could get me in much sooner and advised fees would be comparable. Coms to find out that is not the case. In my second visit I never received any therapy so I should not be charges for it
