I sold an item on depop and shipped it out via **** using the depop label. The post office did not scan the item into acceptance, so it was not marked as shipped in the depop app.The buyer began messaging me asking for updates, which I provided. They opened a dispute with depop about not receiving the item. I gave them an update again that the item had been shipped but not scanned, and to wait more time so that **** can determine if it will deliver or not. Depop stepped in and closed the dispute, siding with the buyer and refunding them -- including charging me the shipping/depop fees. Now I am out both the item and the fees, and the buyer may still receive the item if **** delivers it. If that happens, I have no recourse for my item or funds because depop closed the dispute prematurely. The buyer was also able to rate me negatively for not receiving the item (yet), and I am unable to rate them back due to the item not being marked shipped. The buyer deserves a low rating as well since I have no other recourse, and I have suffered multiple detractions while they have been more than fully 'righted' by depop. This 'resolution' is incomplete and I need to be refunded the fees by depop. Also, because without the acceptance scan, the label is not in use by ****.Customer Answer

I sold an item on Depop's website on October 13, 2023. They claim to have buyer protection. The buyer and postal tracking confirmed receipt of item. No issue was flagged. A month later, on November 13, 2023 the buyer canceled payment. I flagged the issue to Depop. They said this issue should be handled by PayPal, since that's where the payment was issues. PayPal kicked the issue back to Depop. Depop still refused to do anything about it. I don't understand why I should use Depop's service if they provide no protection for their clients as they say they do.Customer Answer

the app depop is withholding my funds from me and will not provide a solution or answers. i have been emailing them for weeks and their first response was that it was a holiday weekend. their second response was that a form of ID needed to be uploaded but would not indicate where that could be done as there is nowhere on the app. where you can upload an ID. they are being incredibly confusing and not providing any information to me. i have used and sold on this app for years without issue and i am just at a loss now with not receiving my funds. depop has taken their fees from all my sales yet still will not release my money to me. again i dont know how to further communicate with them when i only get automated email responses back. im simply asking for the money that is owed to me. i have received hundreds of payments from them without issue. they recently updated the app. and included a different way to pay and be payed out. i have received payouts already even with the new system so again im not sure why there is an issue now. they have all my bank account information including my SSN so i am not sure how they could need more information from me. i sent them a photo id through email and still have not gotten any response. $142.28 is the total amount owed to me from my own sales. depop would not exist if it weren't for sellers like me who use the app. so for them to withhold my money with no explanation does not seem right to me at all. it feels like something weird is going on and again im not sure why im not receiving answers or why they would even be withholding my money from me? i am shocked at low level of professionalism here. they need to release my funds to me and give me an explanation as to what is going on with my account. i have given them every piece of information they could have from me included id, ssn, bank account routing and checking number ontop of back up credit card. they need to pay up and start giving some professional answers and solutionsCustomer Answer

Hi,I sold a Ganni Tall Country Boots at $160 at Depop on Oct 26, and shipped them on Oct 28 at **** Package weight is 5 lbs 10oz. The tracking number is **************************, status shows it is in transit as **** lost the package. Depop credits my earring from my account without any notice, and refunded $185.10 to the buyer.Depop should reimburse my earrings which is $137.44 as the package was not founded. According to Depop seller protection, all my transactions were on Depop, shipping address was correct-- I used Depop provided code, Seller should have up to $300 protection from lost packages. I bought a piece of clothing and it never was sent. I went to put in a dispute and it said I couldn't as it has been 1 day over a month (I ordered the item on the 12th). I sent an email explaining the situation and they still said they just can't do anything to help. I had also messaged the individual seller to try and work it out with them. Other secondhand sites automatically refund you if the seller never ships the item for a certain amount of time. They also don't have any reminders that tell you that you should file a dispute before a certain time. I haven't had any issues before now so I never needed to do it.Customer Answer

On 11/9/23 I received and order I had purchased from depop. When I opened my item I was surprised to see what looked like a splatter of grease stains. I went back to the original listing to see if I had missed anything the seller had said about the item being defective to which I found the listing picture had the sleeves folded over the front of the product covering up the grease stains and the item description indicating that it was never worn and in perfect condition. I reached out to depop feeling assured that they would help me resolve the issue as they claim to have excellent buyer purchase protection. I provided a picture of the stains, and you can clearly see where they were covered ** in the original listing and the most they would offer me was a $10 refund to go get my item dry cleaned. No regard to my time or gas or the fact that I highly doubt $10 will cover dry cleaning in *********. I am very frustrated at the lack of help and buyer protection I have received.Customer Answer

On October 23, Depop sent me an email that they were suspending my sellers account and I would no longer have access to my storefront. I was scammed by one of the other buyers on the site and was in the process of having my bank issue a chargeback for a purchase of ~17 for an item which was unusable condition and nothing like the photo provided of it. Because of this, Depop suspended my account even though they claim to have buyers protection and I had clearly provided them photo proof of the item in question being different than what I had thought I purchased. That same day I sent them several emails informing them that I had already emailed out several packages from purchased made from my storefront by other buyers on the site and that I had an estimated ~$98 in sales that I was expecting to be paid out. These packages have been delivered to their respective buyers for over a week now and Ive sent Depop multiple emails begging for them to give me my storefront payout for goods I sold and which my buyers received with no issue. They are definitely being vindictive about not being willing to give me my payout because I issued a chargeback with my bank due to a scammer on their website.Initial Complaint

I purchased items from this company.im new to this site .I tried to get refunds for 3 items that were never shipped and never responded to my messages...pretty dishonest.There dispute was 180days...I guess starting on September 3rd,it is now only 30 days. So even though they can clearly see I have reached out the the sellers and they can clearly see it wasn't shipped,they just keep your $. Very dishonest! And I'm new on there! I sold merchandise on depop.com and didnt receive my money after the transaction completed. The depop emails kept moving the date. On the website you sell your clothes, depop holds the money until the buyer receives what they paid for, and then they release the money to your account. They started by saying it would be a couple days after the item was received, then they have continued to move the date for well over a month so they have my money and I have gave my clothes away basically.Customer Answer

I sold an item to a buyer on depot. I sold the item September 17th. they now have the item, I have not been paid yet. I as well sold another item and the item has been delivered now for three weeks and I still have no received payment from depop. depop keeps pushing back the payments to my account. I have reconnected and connected my bank account information and verified my identity and still nothing has been resolved.
