I had a buyer buy from me on July 31,2022. They bought Balenciaga Track Runners. I shipped the package August 1,2022. The package was delivered in/at mailbox at 7:07pm *******,** on August 4, 2022. The buyer text me the following day, August 5,2022 at 6:26am stating their package was stolen/lost. So, depop told me to open a lost claim with ***** I received a message on September 12,2022 that the package was not found. The whole time the buyer was not in contact with me for an update. I tried contacting them but no response. Depop refunded the money back to the buyer and he kept the shoes. So I lost out on both. I feel like I been scammed by both the buyer and Depop because the buyer HAS the item. They are just lying about it.Initial Complaint

I am a seller on Depop. My payout date was supposed to be Wednesday, then said Thursday, then Friday, then today(Saturday), and now Sunday. My payout is continuing to be held for no apparent reason. I have tried reaching out to Depop more than 10 times. They fail to solve this problem and look into the issue. It is not legal for my money to be held from me this long. This complaint is an overarching issue with Depop and I feel the business needs to be investigated for poor business practices and customer service attention. ********************** is only there to blindly make money, not facilitate with protection. While posting to the app shipping sizes change from one charge. Ex: if we put in for XL shipping it will change to L. This then undercharges the buyer and Depop will backcharge the seller for a full retail price adjustment when it was noted properly at posting. Other times we find this out when packing and the label is incorrect, again Depop charges the seller full retail. After app updates profile elections will be changed for the app's betterment. The last app took away a "bundle" option and replaced it with "bundled shipping discounts". As a seller we NEVER elect for free shipping, but somehow this update changed bundled purchases to "free shipping" in which Depop was rude and unwilling to correct after a sale. After a huge amount of communication we were reimbursed with another underhanded "this is how to post" response. The customer service portal is a sad excuse for canned responses with rotating names at the bottom of emails. We used an industry standard word of "rep" or repetition of a design in an ad. This ad was flagged for being counterfeit. Depop removed the ad and wanted several forms of proof of purchase for a 15 year old sweatshirt, they had zero client support and kept sending responses needing receipts, more photos and personal information. The payment set up is sketchy at best with 2 different ways to pay/receive money. Internally or via Paypal. Unfortunately they have made no agreement with Paypal about how the transactions show. Thus Paypal marks these transactions as scam/fraud and limits the account. The account owner then has to supply proof of items, tracking info, and other unneeded information to unlock. This company is outrageous, offering fake buyer protection. I purchased from their website, with my debit card, and then when my order did not arrive, and tracking **** ********************** shows returned to sender, Depop kept telling me to file a dispute with Paypal. Eventually Depop promised to refund me and asked for my bank info, but that was a week ago and I still have not received my $75.04 refund. I told them if they are doing an international wire, they need to pay the $25 fee I will incur for receiving such! They have now been unresponsive for a week.Customer Answer

2 charges showed up on my bank account for Depop purchases. I didn't even know what Depop was until the charges showed. I currently still do not have a Depop account. Filed a dispute with my bank who have recently said the charges are valid because the seller verified that I purchased some from them. My account, @************* was banned for having requested or accepted payments outside of the BUY button to avoid our fees. according to the Depop support team. I have told them repeatedly via email that I have never done this. I have not even been on the app/used my account in years and the items on my page have been expired (aka available for purchase) for 2+ years. I have for any proof they had: - what is the name of product I allegedly sold? - when did this allegedly take place? - who did i allegedly sell to? - where is the visual proof of this alleged activity? what are you looking at that confirms I have requested or accepted payments outside of the BUY button to avoid fees? and was they could not provide any information for security reasons. Accounts should not be banned for alleged behavior or behavior that cannot be confirmed with the account user. They have made it virtually impossible to prove I did not do what they are claiming because they will not provide basic evidence. Evidence that does endanger any users security. If fact, it is my security that has been breached because actions were taken on my account possibly via another user or bot that I did not approve of. However, none of this can be dealt with because they will not confirm that any ban-able action that was taken was actually me.Initial Complaint

I listed items to sell on their website, which sold. I mailed them to the buyers and never received payment from Depop. They owe me $11.86 and $13.85 .. I have attempted to contact their help center which doesn't work and one payment they sent thru PayPal which my minor child doesn't have because it's her Depop account. This has been going on since March 2022. They have defrauded a child and this is unacceptable. As a seller to their platform my account was suspended because I added stock photos to some of my listings up for sale.Depop blocked all listings that showed stock photos which was fine, as per their policy I understand.The next day however, Depop suspended the entire account and was being punitive for no reason.I am opening up a case with BBB so I can have a response from the company as to why my account was suspended and sets up their own sellers for failure?I have been selling on other platforms such as **** and amazon for 10 years, they only block a listing and never suspend a seller.Customer Answer
