      Renting clothes shouldn't be a complete hassle.Bad fit recommendations, poor customer service, clothes are worn out and damaged.Horrible experience!

      Total scam. Charged my card for 7 ($1200) months of membership, never reaching out to let me know I had an active membership (with no activity). Asked to speak with a manager and was told Id be contacted via email. Received a generic- sorry were keeping your money with no manager last name or contact information. Theyve figured out how to legally scam people.

      My experience with RTR was terrible. I ordered two dresses to wear to a wedding. I read the reviews, I ordered what seemed to be the right sizes. When the dresses arrived, every, single one was too small. Like crazy small. I was impressed when I asked for a replacement how quickly they sent new ones out. None of the replacements fit, so so small! I immediately put the prepaid return label on them and sent them back. Then I started getting emails stating my returns were late. So, I contacted customer service only to discover they expected the returns to be shipped via **** This was never made clear, and honestly how easy is it to misread *** for ***** They ought to be using logos and bold font to make sure customers know this. So, now two of my return shipments are lost since I put them into the packages slot at the ************ I've been charged $600 for dresses I couldn't wear in the first place because they were so small. I am so upset with this company! They suggest I go back to the post office and ask if they happen to have my returns siting around. And after all this I ended up wearing a $60 Amazon dress because of the size issues with RTR.

      Returned my items via THEIR carrier and they charged me late fees AND for the cost of the items. Have receipts from the carrier that the items were collected. This is what we call fraud. And I would not recommend ANYONE use this service given their scammy practices.

      I have Nest video footage of *** picking up the dresses in the package and now I'm dealing with dresses that were never scanned and lost in transit. Rent the Runway charged me for a late fee (unjustified) and won't refund me and now says they'll give me a 2 day grace ****** to see if the dresses show up. And then what? I don't trust them or ***...This is on them for using *** and they should not be pushing it back on me to go and investigate this third party. You can raid my house all you want. The dresses did not come back with me from this trip. It's not with me and I returned it on time. This has been a huge headache all Saturday morning and because of this, I will no longer be a returning customer.

      I would give 0 stars if I could. I agree with previous reviews, there always seems to be a cloud of confusion around their membership rules and billing practices. I paused my membership because the most items that I want are never in stock in my size. Per RTR, I should be charged $15 for any items still at home when the pause begins (I noticed, without notification that this was changed to $20). During a pause, my credit card was replaced by the issuer (I did not know) for security reasons. I received notification asking for a new card number, which I promptly gave. I was then charged $207 for the dress that I was told would come with a $15 hold fee! When I contacted them, I was told that I HAD TO BE CHARGED, because my membership was in pause without a credit card!?!? Why not just resume my membership?!?! Ridiculous. After a year and over $1700 in membership fees. Every time I contact them, there is literally a different answer. I dont know if the people who work there are capable of keeping up with their convoluted policies. The truth is, most of the items that I received were discolored, worn and or torn. Many items did NOT appear recently cleaned. Never again.

      Ive tried to use rent the runway and I enjoy the idea of the service and a lot of the items Ive rented. However, the quality is poor on many of the items and they dont look to be inspected prior to being shipped. Once I ordered a dress for rent because we were doing family photos, and they sent the dress without the included belt. The belt was needed and I was unable to use the dress, they also didnt have another they could send me. I also recently ordered 2 items for purchase that I was very excited about. I received one of the items, but the other was something completely different that I never, ever would have ordered. They say theyll refund me for that item but that they cannot locate it, but once they do theyll put it back into their inventory. Why cant they locate their own items and why would they not send it to me once they do, considering that I paid for it? Just a poor system all around that I am no longer happy to spend my money on. Ill be looking for similar, better quality rental companies to rent clothes from.

      Their renewal program is predatory. It auto renews and does not send you any notice that it will charge you. I was out of the country without access to internet to cancel my subscription when I was charged. Upon my return, I immediately contacted them to request a refund as I won't be continuing the rental service. They would absolutely not budge even after several requests and said they were unable to refund the previous transaction. When I said I would be cancelling and asked them to handle that, they offered me a 30% refund on this bill and 30% discount on my future month's subscription. Obviously I do not want to do that as I don't want to continue the subscription. When I asked to be given the 30% refund on my bill but not cancel - they refused. This is not a) customer centric or b) even fair to the client. Charging someone without reminding them it's upcoming AND not being willing to refund the transactions is just a horrible way to do business. I'm sad about this experience because overall I've had a great time renting from RTR. The site is great and makes shopping easy and things have delivered quickly. However, I can't, in good faith, continue giving money to a company like this who blatantly disregards their customers needs.

      I signed up for a 5 items a month membership. I could not order any items due to a glitch in the system. It took 6 days to fix and many hours of customer support. Without any notification from customer support my account was finally working though I had to search the items I wanted all over again. On a positive note once I placed the order the 5 items arrived the next day late afternoon. They gave me a 25% inconvenience fee on my membership.Two of the items I received were in very poor condition. A formal dress had a significant tear in the hem and a blouse had a tassel missing and was fit for a charity store.Disappointed I returned the items the very next day.Despite having received defective items, when I asked to cancel my membership the company refused to return the full membership fee.

      Businesses have their policies and I get that. They are in the business to make money. However, one of Rent the Runways policies is extremely unfair to the consumer.If you place an order and have to cancel it within 30 days of the ship date (regardless of the reason) not only will they deduct a $9.95 cancellation fee from your order total, but you will not get a refund, only a store credit. I feel this is deceptive- if they are going to only offer a credit, it should be for the full amount of what you paid OR offer a refund minus the cancellation fee. I completely understand not getting your money back 100% but this is ridiculous.Additionally, I had placed a previous order 5 months before an event. When I received the shipment I only received 1 of the 4 items with no previous notice. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to a one time issue but now its clear that this is not a good company to order from.
