I attempted to purchase car insurance in 2024. At the time I was told there was something on my LexisNexis credit report making me high risk. *** also canceled my service after 20 years out of the blue. I have not had any major accidents or reasons for me to be a high risk insurance customer. Also, there is nothing on the reports from the big three reporting agencies. I filled out the LexisNexis online credit request form. They mailed a reply to my home stating they couldn't prove my identity, so I couldn't gain access to my report. I did this process several times. There also was no recourse for me to gain the information on my report except filling out the form again. I need access to whatever they have on my credit report, so I can either dispute it or repair it. How can their company claim I am high risk and ruin my ability to purchase insurance, but not allow me the ability to dispute the claim. After my information has been leaked in several major data breaches (******, *******, ********, etc...), I need to verify what they have on my report.Business Response

Lexisnexis provided wrong information on a clue report to my car insurance provider. This incorrect information has resulted in assessing higher premiums on me. I have contacted them numerous times and filed a dispute (dispute case# ********). Lexisnexis continues to insist the information they have is accurate when it is not. The **** ******** who was involved in the reported accident on April 15, 2025, is a different **** ******** (not me) who lives in a completely different town with completely different parents and who has a completely different date of birth, ss#, and driver's license number than I do. For Better Business Bureau (‘BBB’) complaints, we continue to use a generic response for posting on the BBB website and a mail a more fulsome response to the consumer.? We have taken this approach to safeguard consumer-specific data; the BBB has confirmed that this is the better approach.
If the consumer does not agree with the BBB website response he or she can then reject the case on the BBB website; however, it keeps the consumer’s data safe.??

I requested a copy of my consumer report per the **** from LexisNexis via ********************************************************. Case Number: ******** I received a letter dated for June 1, 2025 stating I had 30 days to access the *** link provided and enter the pin sent. The pin sent doesn't work. I tried every troubleshooting step listed on the letter and website. The problem is that LexisNexis makes it impossible to reach anyone. I called the number provided on June 10, 2025 at 1:58pm and was on hold for over an half hour and the staff didn't say anything at all. The only response I have received via email is from an auto bot with no actual help. It should not be this difficult to obtain a consumer report.Business Response

They also haven't sent a pin so that I can access my consumer report that I'm legally entitled to. They're dismissive and respond with generic messages and say to call different numbers which nobody answers.
I'll escalate the situation since LexisNexis is violating the FCRA.

My LexisNexis report has an at fault accident which is not correct. They refuse to answer the phone. Every time I inquire about filing a dispute online the computer takes me to obtaining the erroneous report which I do not want. I want my report fixed NOW not in 30 days. LexisNexis Risk Solutions is not delivering my requested Consumer Disclosure Report, a service they are obligated to provide. A motor vehicle insurance company erroneously tacked on two at-fault accidents onto my record/name (I believe they have a customer who I share a similar name with). When I was attempting to acquire new motor vehicle insurance, I discovered these accidents were placed on my record despite me not committing them. I pulled my official Oregon DMV driving record that shows there are zero accidents on my record and got an official letter from my previous insurance agency stating they have never had to go through a claim from myself. I was told that in order to remove these off my record, I had to go through the Consumer Disclosure Report from LexisNexis. However, I filled out the form two months ago and have not received the documents so I can dispute the "accidents" on my record. I also attempted to call them to contact a service representative but was on hold for hours.The lack of action from LexisNexis is causing me emotional and financial harm, forcing me to pay hundreds of dollars extra a month than I should pay.Business Response
