Received Sports ************************** (I never ordered and don't know how my address was obtained). I tried to "Return to Sender" but the post master left it in my box. Then I threw it in the trash. A month afterwards, I received *********************** What the hay!!! I also tried the "Return to Sender" but it, was also left. I examined the label on the cover to see if I could locate a company or return address, but don't know how to read the label. I "Googled" how to read the address label of a magazine, and after several months of research, (and magazines), a site advised me to call Vanity Fair to cancel my subscription. I don't even know why I should have to go through so much to be able to cancel!! *********** told me the subscription was issued by a third party, therefore they are unable to cancel my subscription. I told her I am not paying for their magazine and I hoped she were OK with others seeing their magazines in the trash, because that is just where they are ending up. She finally disclosed to me the third party is We Scribe. NEVER HEARD OF IT! She gave me the number, but when I looked up We Scribe on the internet, their hours have them as "closed." I want both of my magazine subscriptions cancelled immediately and any money that they took from me refunded!!! I also want them to lose my information...forever!!! This is a violation of my privacy. I didn't get a choice to accept/reject these magazines, and don't appreciate them being forced on me. BBB has a requirement that businesses who join them are transparent and ethical. This practice is neither. Transparency begins with the shipping label...why did it take me months of research to discover who sent these magazines? Why is it not openly printed on the label? (Especially if We Scribe represents that I actually ordered them.) Ethical begins with ease of cancellation, a letter notifying to be on the lookout for the subscription ordered along with a way to cancel, or to dispute BEFORE they ship.

In March of 2023 I began receiving issues of Conde Nast Traveller, a magazine I did not subscribe to. I called Conde Nast and was told the subscription was created by *********************************** After googling the company I found multiple reports indicating this is a scam. I did not contact We Scribe directly because I don't want to become involved in whatever the scam is. Started getting *************************** issues. I called SI to find out why. They stated a third party company called Wescribe signed me up for an account. I have no relationship with either SI or Wescribe. Apparently Wescribe had a history of doing this to others. This should be illegal and I want my info removed from their system and an apology for using my info fraudulent to open an account with SI.

I am receiving a magazine subscription in my name that I did not order. I was informed by the magazine's customer service agent that ******************** ordered the magazine in my name and that I am unable to cancel the subscription because I am not the one that placed the order. Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.  All I would suggest to WeScribe in the future is to make their motives more transparent.  Nothing in life is free generally and definitely gives off scam vibes.  I was apprehensive about being billed for a subscription I didn't order and was concerned that an entity was acting with my personal information without permission.  I visited the WeScribe website after speaking to the Sports Illustrated Representative to figure out what was going on.  If the site simply explained that we offer trial subscriptions for free in the hopes that you might like them and want to pay for a subscription, I would have been amenable to it.  It's just in these times with scammers everywhere they should make their intentions more clear.  The WeScribe Rep emailed me the same day I made the complaint to explain the situation and assure me I would not be billed and would no longer receive products I didn't order.  I am satisfied with their prompt response.  Like I said I think if they explained their intentions in a way the layperson can understand they would get less complaints.  Because who doesn't like free stuff, ya know?

      Sincerely,

      *******************

I have been receiving magazines that I did not order nor subscribe to. I have been sending emails to and calling the magazine companies and they say they do not have permission to cancel my subscription or information on why these subscriptions were started. I contacted We Scribe one month ago to cancel the subscriptions and get more information on how and who gave them my information with no answer. One month later I am now again receiving a new magazine subscription different from the one already cancelled. We Scribe continues to create new subscriptions in my name. I'm not sure if they're collecting money from me but I again need them to cancel all subscriptions in my name immediately. I want zero magazine subscriptions now or in the future- and I take issue with any charges they have taken from me. Please cancel all subscriptions with immediate effect and permanently delete my personal information from your databases.

I am writing to file a complaint about a fraudulent and unauthorized subscription made under my name and on my behalf without my knowledge or my authorization. I did not provide this organization with any of my personal information. I did not have any prior knowledge of this agency until I started receiving unknown magazine subscriptions in the mail. *** tried to call the magazine subscriptions to cancel them myself, but they told me I had to reach out to WeScribe directly. To which I did call, but of course it went straight to voicemail. I then filled out their customer service form as well. Unfortunately, there was not an email provided for me to contact them, but so far, Ive done everything in my power to contact them and get this issue resolved immediately, however, I have not gotten a response back from them. I have read up on the history of complaints against this agency and I know I am not the only individual who has faced this similar issue which is why I am taking matters into my own hands and urging them to cancel this subscription immediately. I would like to be put on the Do Not Market List indefinitely and need to cancel all subscriptions or any other magazines that are in my name. I take issue with any charges that are being billed against me or have been taken from me. Most importantly, ** asking to cancel all subscriptions immediately and to stop using my personal information. Id like to speak to whoever is in charge, but alas Ive been unable to reach any of their customer service representatives. *** already tried contacting this agency via phone and left a voicemail. Id like for them to get back to me as soon as possible to resolve this matter.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and am satisfied that this specific subscription has been canceled and I have been placed on their Do Not Market list.

However, I would be happier to know who asked the business to subscribe me in the first place so that I could bring my complaint to them, but the business refuses to share this information.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

I received a subscription to GQ magazine on 10/5/22. I did not subscribe to this magazine or any other magazine. When I called the customer service phone number for GQ they told me that the subscription was placed by We Scribe. I was told that they are the only ones that can cancel the subscription. I did not give We Scribe or any other company my information, in order to subscribe to any magazine. I did not call We Scribe because, as stated, I did not give them any of my information in the first place and did not want to actually give it to them over the phone. As of now, I have not seen any purchases or charges to my accounts but would like for any and all subscriptions to be cancelled immediately.
