      My mother has passed away in February 2022. It is now November 2022. I’ve been attempting for 9 MONTHS to close her thrift account. When I call, someone take my info and tell me that someone will get back to me. When I tell them that I’ve been told that before, I’m then told that they’re busy. For 9 months??? I’ve tried walking into multiple locations; however they’re always deserted. One them wasn’t even in the building that the address indicated. The other tenants hadn’t ever heard of them. When we called to ask about it, the service agent just told us what was on the ****** page. When I FINALLY got a agent to email me the forms, THEY SENT THE WRONG ONE! I wish I could give them negative stars. It’s not even a lot of money, but it was my mother’s. It shouldn’t be this difficult. It feels like a scam.

      Spent hours on the phone to get terms of withdraw or summary plan description. Not only did I go through several customer service representatives who couldn't help me and put me on hold, they were rude. They gave me a name of a client manager who would be getting in touch with me. I asked if I could have the managers full name, number, email, anything- I was told no. They said the manager was over a branch and they couldnt give me the number to the branch- they didnt have it. To top it all off... I listened to the same ************** song for almost 2 hours... it didnt even play all the way through, it started over about half way through. Worst customer service and worst set up not allowing clients access to paperwork.

      They are the least accessible company I've ever worked with. I've been trying to rollover my 403b for weeks without response.

      They make it very difficult if not impossible to get your funds. Have been working since May 2022. Finally received an email response that the paperwork was received and if I do not here in a week all is good. This was in late Sept. They now have said that deposit was initiated on the 26th of Oct. According to email this would take 2 to 3 days to get. It has not been 8 business days.MAYBE IT IS TIME TO GET STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS TO LOOK INTO THIS. This seems like more than just being short staffed.

      I also have been waiting over hour on hold x 4 calls! They received my formal rollover request forms October 17th @ **** signed and received by N *******. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Excuse after excuse from them. This is totally unacceptable from a multi million dollar company. The first 2 calls said **** days then 3 and 4 th call said 2-4 weeks! I'm sorry but who's money is this! How can a company be able to do this to customers.I started this process in the beginning of October.I also had an account with Transamerica and that transaction was completed within a few days as MoA should have been. They make it extremely difficult to get your money. Also when trying to fill out all their mumbo jumbo paperwork they sent me incorrect forms that were missing certain sections. Their response was, "You must have been sent old forms". Incompetence... Finally figured this out on phone with support person. This company is an utter joke!

      If I could leave 0 stars I would, multiple times Ive waiting on The phone line for any customer support, I left an employer in June and to work for the my states attorney general office. I called Mutual America to close my account because I will not be contributing nor my former employer anymore, I filled out the requested paperwork in September past the **** business days the paperwork would take to process its now November still no funds paid, today Ive been on hold for more than hour and no customer rep has answered. Im starting to feel like no one works there. Must be nice to get paid to ignore customers.

      I have contacted mutual of America 3 times in reference to my withdrawal. the first time i was on hold for over and hour, the second Time i opted to be called back, which did not happen and this third time i have been on hold for 2 hours!!! all i am doing is checking the status of my withdrawal, which for some reason you cannot do on their website. you're forced to call.

      I've been trying for 2 months now to withdraw my 401a . You wait hours on the phone for them to tell me they got my forms months ago but still haven't looked at them. This company is delaying these withdrawals on purpose so there stocks don't crash meanwhile my money is hostage and loosing money everyday.

      It appears as though this company has no diligent customer service working in an office setting. If there were people in a traditional brick and mortar office, maybe it wouldn't take a request all day on the phone ( on hold) for weeks at a time to get the assistance you have requested.
