      The low cost investment option is nice, but its almost as if the company has gone out of business. They dont show you what fees you have paid for the year, and trying to get ahold of someone to ask seems impossible. Ive endlessly been on hold. This info should be included in my online statements! And I shouldnt have to spend time calculating the fees myself based on their formula for each option Ive chosen.

      1 star ONLY because 0 or negative stars is not an option!!!!!
      I have been dealing with Mutual of America for over 3-months trying to complete my withdrawal because I left my company. I have gotten nothing but runaround, lies, and utter **! I've spent well over 30hrs on the phone in just the last 3 weeks, 99% of which has been on hold, only to be hung up on by every member of withdrawal call center! Today I was told by a withdrawal call center operator: "because of the down turn in the economy withdrawal processing is being delayed, we cannot estimate when your withdrawal will be processed or deposited in your account"! ***?!?!?!?! This after being told REPEATEDLY over the last 3+ months that it would be 5-7 business days to process the request & an additional 3-5 days for the deposit to appear.
      No matter how many times I asked, I was refused access to a supervisor/manager & was hung up on EVERY TIME I asked, and was td there is no way to contact them. What????? The only way I have gotten ANYTHING done was through the VP of the Chicago Regional Office, ****! He has been a lifesaver the last few weeks and TODAY...HE was the one to finally get something done! Less than 30mins after I left him a message...AGAIN...I had an email from *** stating my funds would be deposited within 48hrs!!! This is FAR & ABOVE ****'s job duties, especially since *** is corporate's responsibility, but he has a true desire to help people & proved it thru the whole 3 phone calls we had. Nothing happened AT ALL until he got involved!
      Mutual doesn't care that people desperately need their money to survive or that people are losing massive amounts from their retirement/pension plans DAILY because they're trying to protect their bottom line! I seriously wonder if a class action lawsuit is needed at this point...I know I've lost upwards of 20k in this process & I know I'm not the only one!
      BBB...how can you help ALL of us suffering at the hands of this corporate giant?

      I had to file the paperwork to withdraw my funds at the local office because couldn't do it online couldn't access the website. I have called local office as well as the 800 number never getting any answers. I went to the local office and filled out the forms to withdraw my funds, the worker there fax the paperwork to whoever was supposed to get them, told us we should see our checks in 14 days, not counting the weekends ,16 days passed no funds or communication. When I finally got someone on the phone, was told the paperwork was still in the fax machine. Was told it would be processed, never got a time frame for this. I called again 21 days after filing the costumer service rep. **** she was sending it to her supervisor to process, again wasn't given a time to see these funds. I called again 27 days later no word was sent to a supervisor I was told the supervisor would process theses funds and email the next day, so far there has been no word, are they deliberately holding on to these because they don't want to lose money ,my accounts lose approximately ****** dollars every three months. Can you help retrieve these funds.

      How are they still operating?!?! Its MIND BOGGLING. There is next to no customer service. These people are literally in charge of your life's savings!!!!!!

      I've been waiting on my withdrawal for more than a month. I've talked to several associates about the withdrawal they still saying it's still processing. I've cancelled two eye surgeries being not working due to the surgery I need. When I left the company and owed for a loan with them they took the money from the loan over night, but they are taking their time with my withdrawal. I have also asked to talk to leadership but one representative told me I couldn't his boss we're busy and they gonna tell me the same thing. There ought to be somebody on the withdrawal department set up to talk to the customers.

      I submitted a request for withdrawal as I am now with a new company and have a new 401(k) started. I chose not to roll-over for personal reasons. I submitted the withdrawal and all required documentation via email on September 6, 2022 with two follow up emails over the following 2 weeks to be sure it was received. I received NO response to any of my emails. On September 26, 2022 I utilized the call-back option which is the ONLY time I have ever had success reaching someone at this company! All other calls were a minimum of 1 hour on hold. I spoke with a rep who sounded like she'd rather be anywhere else, but she at least looked into it - told me that all of the documents were received and looked good so she was going to send it over to her "team" to process is right away. I asked about how long the process typically takes and she said about 10 days to process and another 3-5 days for the funds to be in my account. Given that information, I fully expected my money to be in my bank account by Friday, 10/14/22. On 10/11/22 I called again and got a call back from a different rep who just said it hasn't been processed yet and she'd put in to have a call made to me once it was done. I complained on ******* and was asked to give them three dates/times that they can have rep call me. I did that and am now at the end of those dates/time and STILL no call! I am now on day 41 (29 business days) with nothing but generic and non-helpful replies to my ******** and ******* messages calling them out. I just want my money and, given technology and an electronic transfer, even if there were a staff shortage there's no excuse for this. Their customer service is the absolute worst I have experienced with any company. I am a patient person and this has caused me nothing but stress - I'm disgusted! I better NOT get that same canned ** response to this asking me when I'm available for a call.

      Do not waste your time dealing with Mutual of America. I have waited forc2 months and have not received any of my money. **************** is very rude and refuses to allow you to speak with a supervisor.

      Having been calling for days to inquire about my 403(b) plan. Keep getting a message about unusually long call volume- no one ever answers the phone.Even called toll free number- left message for call back- been days and no response.What use is this company is no one answers the phone or has decency to return calls???

      I've been trying to get in contact with this company via telephone (the only option for communication with them) and have been on hold for a total of 16 hours over the past week and a half. I've never written a review like this before, but this is absolutely unacceptable. I need to get documents from my 403b account, but am to able to access my online account and can do nothing to resolve the situation without their assistance. The only time I was able to talk to someone was when I chose the "plan sponsor" option (they answered right away, of course)- I was told that someone would call me to help with an account and then was taken off the call. No one has called me. I cannot access the money that I have in an account with them. My money, that I've invested and NEED access to. Why they think this is an appropriate way for them to treat their clients is beyond me. I do plan on getting an attorney at this point, I would never trust this company with my money again. And at this point, is it even my money if they won't give it back?

      Absolutely the worse financial group! If you invest with this company (mine is through work) 401K Please reconsider. Here are the reasons: 1. Horrible website, limited ability to utilize 2. ZERO customer service, they simple do not answer their phones 3. Transfering funds out of this account is moving at a snails pace. In the past I have rolled retirement money into my TIAA and it literally took a few hours.. this appears to take weeks and perhaps months.. I can't wait to remove every ***** and never deal with this incompetent company again. I wish I knew ahead how horrible they were, so I could had avoided them all together.
