      I think customer service representative, *****, is a super helpful, kind and professional representative of Mutual of America.While visiting in a foreign country and needing assistance with tax forms, I was fortunate to get ***** on line. She was kind enough to call me back when my call dropped and went on to further assist me. She went the extra mile for me to have peace of mind and confidence in Mutual of America.

      I called to rollover my old 401k into my new one. The rep I spoke with said I had to fill out a form to complete this. Having worked in personal finance service and completing hundreds of rollover requests, this is atypical. The form was unavailable online and only a rep can send it to you despite their website stating that you can complete rollovers and withdrawals online. ******* never sent me the form. I have called twice to try to get the form again. The first time I was on hold for over an hour and I had to hang up to go do something else. The second time I was on hold and hung up on immediately.

      Aweful customer service. I have called every 3 days over the last 13 business days. Each time I call about my withdrawal they tell me a new story and say I will have my money in 3-5 business days. Yet I cant speak with a manger. I am beyond frustrated at their process. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.

      I have had issues with withdrawals for the past 2 months-July and august 2023. In August, = from mu 401k. I requested a withdrawal In July via an EFT. Although I had e=received a withdrawal from my account via EFT previously, evidently Mutual of America had no record of this-although it is on my statement-they (1) said they has no records and (2) they advised me that it would take **** days. Nothing appeared online advising of any pending transaction. After calling my representative for about a week and receiving no answer, I found that my rep had changed and, after getting s supervisor at customer service on the phone, was told that my request for an EFT had gone through. When I reached my new representative, he looked online as well and told me that he could find nothing but would check on my request. I finally received my funds, but not the funds I had requested, Instead, there were 2 transfers to my bank account-one for $2,500 and ne for $2,000.00, I had requested only $2,500 with 20% retained for federal taxes. Interestingly, neither transfer appeared on my statement-just the amount that remained in my 401k. I decided to request a total withdrawal of the remainder of my funds-less that 15k. I sent that request to my representative about 5 business days ago, and the to date have heard nothing from Mutual of America, nor does the request appear under "pending transactions", nor does anyone at Mutual of America answer their telephones. I understand that the company has lost money over the past year, but the comparatively meager amount that i asked for must be available. I am a widow living on social security and a meager pension, and this withdrawal if very important at this time. I am very disappointed and angry,

      Requested a withdrawal from my 401(k) account electronically 08/07/23. I sent in all the documentations that I need it. I received an email confirming they processed it on 08/11/23 and that I will receive my funds 3 to 5 business days if I requested it electronically and 7 to 10 days if I requested a check. Five days go by I still didnt receive my funds so I called them on 08/21/23, and a representative informed me that they mailed my funds I immediately told them that they were not supposed to send the check through mail because I no longer lived at the address they had on file, Thats why I requested my funds electronically, if I would've updated my address, it would take 14 days for them to verify and I needed my money asap. She placed me on hold a supervisor now takes over the call and tells me that he has to email someone to see if they can place a hold on the check and that he will call back. Of course he didnt call back. Now its 08/22/23. I called back a representative, told me that they mailed my funds because they dont accept my bank. I immediately said to her when my application was under review, they shouldve emailed me or call me to let me know that I asked to speak to a supervisor. He informs me that they do accept the bank that I have. After I spoke to that supervisor, he transfer me to another supervisor name *********, who told me that they were going to place a hold on the check. It should take a day and that they will process the check EST. So I waited a day. I called back on 08/24/23. Just for a representative to tell me that the check was cashed. I was livid all they could do was say sorry we will figure this out, and they will get my funds to me within the next few days here it is 08/28/23, and I still didnt receive my funds. ****** called me this morning, stating that it was approved for them to wire me my funds and it shouldnt take no more than a few hours. My funds still didnt didnt show up I no longer trust this company.

      Such a pain to deal with. This company was nearly impossible to get my rollover completed to my new 401k. It honestly made me feel like they REALLY did not want to release my money. I've been passed around to multiple people over the past few months and this is still not resolved, and they have still not put my money back in the original account (I gave up on the rollover for now).

      Without a doubt: this is the largest gathering of incompetent fools I have ever known. From call center representatives to claims-workers, nothing but non-caring action. I talked to one fellow: "I don't know what kind of support I will get, once I submit the issue." That was two months ago. The idiot's can't even decide if I should be talking with Life Claims or Plan Sponsor. They now owe my mother $1,994.97. Rest assured, CEO is going to get a letter from me. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!

      They are unprofessional in their handling of legitimate claims. My wife passed away on 10/22/22 and I am the certified heir to her retirement pension. I filed a claim in late January./early February of 2023 and as of 8/4/2023...I have not received a single one of the monthly payments I'm legally entitled to. payment. Their Payments Manager lied to me in June when she said she had my claim in front of her and was processing it. She said I would receive a lump sum payment in July representing 9 months of back payments plus interest. Additionally monthly direct deposits to y checking account would begin on 8/1. On 7/31. a call center agent told me that the claim had not yet been processed in their system.

      The company I work for chose to move their plan to Mutual of America from another large provider in January of 2023 and so far the customer experience has been excellent. With my prior carrier, I was only afforded the opportunity to participate in group meetings or at most, invited to drive 70 miles to the closest office. With Mutual of America, my representative (*******) came on-site and met with me for a little over an hour. We discussed where I currently was invested and what goals I had in retirement. We left our meeting with a plan and I have already scheduled a follow up meeting with her. To be honest, I don't have a ton of money in my account but my representative treated me like I was their largest client.

      My father passed away suddenly to begin this year. I filed a claim within the month of January. *** spoken to several representatives including a ***************************** who is the supervisor in claims department as Ive been told. Since April I was told by this man that due to overwhelming work loads and staffing complications my payments have taken so long and will not come into effect for another two weeks. This was ****** Since I have called incessantly to no avail. My paperwork has been approved since February and this company continues to ******* me. I a have been counseled to consider legal action. These people have not made this transition any easier for me.
