Aon is not very good travel insurance .First cruise was disrupted by hurricane Ion. September 29 to October 3 2022. Cruise was cancelled by cruise line for Thursday and Friday. ***** ***** hotel even cancelled our room September 28 2022. Port canaveral was closed .mariner of the seas wasn’t allowed to dock. Filed for trip interruption. October 4, 2022. Say they need documentation of my home owners insurance . I called to tell them I don’t have home owners insurance.calling them by the way is a joke.I haven’t a clue as to what my home owners insurance has to do with anything. I call and they always give me it will be another three weeks. Last email I received in November 19 2022 says they need another 30 days to process the claim. Interestingly two other families filed at the same time and the same claim did receive credit in the first three weeks. I think they just pick a claim to reject regardless of whether you claim is legit or not.

Not sure of what score to give them. Eventually they paid most of our claim. We were quarantined in ***** for 12 days starting the night before we were supposed to fly home. The help number people were great and reassuring, though there was nothing that they ever helped us with except for telling us to keep receipts and assure us we were covered. If we'd have had to find a Doctor I suppose they would have been good. Took over 6 months for AON to evaluate and pay. No warning of how long it might take, just told us they were backed up whenever we inquired. After about 5 months, they said they needed another 30 days and they completed the evaluation a little after 30 days from that notice. They told us what they were paying which was around $200 short of what we asked and said our case was closed. The preliminary information has some broad cost categories with numbers that we couldn't directly relate to what we had requested. When the checks came, there was a letter that said the included attachment explained the reimbursements. There was no attachment. As we were quarantined and most all charges were on one bill which would be had to dispute, we're guessing maybe they didn't pay the Covid tests we needed to get home. It also looks like they shorted us a little on airfare. Hard to believe reducing the payment by that small amount is worth not trying to satisfy a customer after such a wait. We told them in the survey we never had the reimbursement explained, but have not heard back. Too tired to deal with them anymore. Best of luck to those of you waiting.

AON insurance is a rip off! I was suddenly put on military orders and sent to *************** and upon my return they DENIED my claim because the policy does not specify military orders. i will make sure every person I know, is aware of this SCAM!

If it was possible to give zero stars for this company I would do that. My experience echos that of the other 221 people wh0o have posted on this *********** travelers for a trip in June and one ended up with a blood clot so he couldn't fly. Claim was placed in June with the required documentation. I call every week and they continue to stall. It's unconscionable.

*** seems to be deliberately delaying resolving my claim. I filed in August, its now December. I have called several times. The representative reads from a script and has absolutely NOTHING to add. They will not/cannot answer any questions directly. At this point, it feels like fraud especially since they will give no details or names or numbers to call for more information. I have no recourse other than to continue to call. I wish I had read reviews before using AON, I would have gone with a different agency. Is this company an actual insurance agency or is it just a scam?

This is the worst travel insurance company that I have ever had to deal with. They are doing everything that they can, to not pay this legitimate claim. When I 1st called them about putting in the claim, they stated that their system was down. This happened for 3 days. Finally, I asked to speak to someone in the US. I have followed all of their instructions. I always ask, if there is anything else that I need to do, or any other documentation that I need to provide. Every representative LIES, & tells me that no other documentation is needed. After checking back with them (after 2 weeks), they will say that it is under review, & that they have a lot of claims to process. After I call them a month later, they tell me that they are sending me a letter, with additional info that is needed. I never requested that they send me anything in the mail. I did everything electronically. Again, this is another delay tactic. This same delay tactic has happened repeatedly, over the course of 5 months. When getting travel insurance for a cruise, PLEASE (I BEG YOU), LOOK FOR ANOTHER TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPANY! DON'T USE AON TRAVEL INSURANCE!

I traveled in late June to the Baltic and *******. My luggage was lost at ******** on day one. I put a claim in to AON for reimbursement of expenses after the airline paid for lost baggage.. I provided AON with the airlines letteR, as well as well as a receipt for every item purchased. It took AON claims two months to open my email claim form. I've called several times for updates and were told they are "very busy", needed more info (which was initially submitted), and they couldn't open attachments although I sent it in the preferred PDF form. I've been in the insurance business for 30 years and have never dealt with such blatant stalling and disregard for policyholders. I reported AON to the CA department of insurance and encourage each if you experiencing the same issue to do so.

I had to cancel my cruise due to medical reasons and have been trying for 3 months to get claim papers so I can file my claim. They claim they emailed it and cannot email more than two times. I never received it once. It has been 3 weeks since I last spoke with a supervisor and I have yet to receive anything and today was told they need more time. The supervisor, I do not remember his name, was very polite and never lost his patience with me, but still it is very bad customer service.I was not given a choice of insurance companies but if you are do not chose AON Affinity Travel Insurance

This company is a joke and will do everything in their power to deny your claim. I bought this insurance under the sales pitch of if anything happens they will refund you my flight to get to a Cruise, which is what I bout the insurance for, was cancelled 8 hours before it was scheduled to take off due to covid was the reason I got from the airline company. Not only did aon deny my claim but it took them over 8 months to do that. They told me if my flight was cancelled for inclement weather they could have granted me a refund but because a flight was cancelled due to covid in the beginning of 2022 they cant approve my claim because its not in their approved reasons for not being able to attend the cruise my cruise was in March I just got the denial in December. This company should seriously be investigated for the promises they are making when selling their plans through other companies. Extremely disappointed and just lost out on over 700 dollars.. plus what I paid for this stupid insurance policy. Absolute joke, either go with a different company or dont use it at all either way youd be better off.
