ACS is trying to hustle customers into paying for additional shows that they did not anticipate signing up for. I too received emails from them indicating that I have an invoice for an upcoming show that I did not sign up for. They refer to the box on the contract that indicates if you want a multi year discount of $50 check this box. The wording here is very deceptive and not clear so that consumers know this means you are agreeing to pay for another show. They are saying this meant I wanted to sign up for another year and now owe them over $1,000. This is more than I paid for the 1st show so how is this a discount. By the way, I did not receive 1 customer as a result of the show from last year.I am on my way to talk to my lawyer because this is absolutely a scam and deceptive business practices.American Consumer Shows LLC

******, I am sorry that you are upset. However, your statement that we are hustling vendors in not true. Bottom line is that you are a business owner that signed a contract and specifically opted in to be on the multi year auto renewal. You had nine months to cancel your participation with no penalty, but did not. Now it's time to pay for this year's show and you are claiming you are out of business. You should have reached out to advise us, prior to your 11/1/23 cancel date and we would have cancelled you. You are personally responsible for the contract you signed. We have been trying to resolve this matter with you but if you do not pay for your booth, we will have no choice but to send your account to an outside collection agency. We have offered you solutions that I hope you will accept. Im sure your attorney will advise you the same. Regards, American Consumer Shows.Review fromRon D

American Consumer Shows (ACS) are requesting money for an ACS show I do not wish to participate in regarding Bridal ***********************. At this time, they have 12 different travel agencies represented in the January 13 and 14, **** show which is 3x the normal number of travel agencies represented. For this reason, I have asked to postpone my show payment and show participation to ****. The person I spoke to was ***************************, the Senior Account Manager with ****** shared our current financial hardship with ******* in regard to many lost bookings due to the war in ******. I truly do not have the money to pay ACS for this show and kindly asked for her willingness to work with our business. She was quite firm and did not budge on demanding payment for the January **** show. As a means to negotiate, I asked ******* to place our business on a list for a Bridal show for **** however, ******* is forcing me to make payments on the January 13 and 14 show for the amount of $1795 due to the contract wording. At the time, when I signed the contract for future shows, their ACS representative had me sign off on a future contract during the same time I was setting up for the 2018 show. Since I was trying to prepare for the 2018 show, I was not aware of all the details of the contract and wanted to focus on getting everything ready. They really pulled a fast one on me regarding the show details and payments when I signed the contract in 2018. As of this morning, I asked *************************** if we could work together but for a future show later in ****. She refused to work with me and is demanding the payment of $1795 on an account I signed off on a multi-year contract (for a discount of $50 per year). Since she is unwilling to work with our business, I need this issue to go to remediation through BBB and help me resolve the issue before ACS sends this contract to a 3rd party collection agency. Thank you for your assistance.American Consumer Shows LLC

ACS has been trying to work with the customer. However, the customer has a contract that needs to be fulfilled. We are allowing her to set up a payment plan and get credit to a future show. Once the payment plan is received her account will be in good standing and will not be sent to an outside collections agency. Kind regards, ACS.Review fromYas F

We have many satisfied, returning vendors. Please reach out with your company name and contact info so that we may review your account. It appears that you, ****************, make it your business to target african American small business owners to extort vendor booth payments for multiple ACS shows that they did not sign up for claiming that there is a signed contract via email. You need to be investigated for shady sales practices. You owe me my booth fee for the one show I signed up for in 2022 because the was a breach of contract. I was informed that I would receive full leads for all of the attendees but never received them. A whole year has gone by. Prospective business lost.Poor attendance at that show in *************.Now you say that I owe you for a fraudulent multi year contract that I did not sign up for.You are a shady sales person and need to be investigated.www.chezkevito.com I welcome contact from any business owners who have been scammed by this sales agent and the company he works for - ACS ShowsAmerican Consumer Shows LLC

Hello,!Without providing your company name, we cannot be specific in our response. If you had canceled your multi year contract prior to the cancel date clearly stated on your contract, you would have been cancelled. Cancels are not accepted after the cancel date. As far as receiving the lead list, it might have gotten stuck in your spam folder. Again, without company specifics, further assistance cannot be provided. Regards, ACS.Review fromCourtney C

DO NOT work with this company! They are predatory scammers! In November of ********************************* the Georgia Bridal Expo that was put on by ACS. When the representative signed us up for the show, we were offered a discount off of our registration fee if we signed a multiyear contract. We were promised that we could cancel the second year if we did not want to participate in the show the following year.On March 13, 2023, we were asked if we would like to participate in the April show. At that time, we informed ACS via email that we would no longer be participating. We were then contacted on September 4, 2023 with an email informing us that we owed payment for the November 2023 show. We responded again via email that we would not be participating and wanted to cancel. We were then informed that the deadline for cancellation was September 1st and we were obligated to a booth. I sent a copy of the email from March in which we stated that we would no longer be participating. ACS will not work with us and did not consider this a cancellation. They are threatening collections.Upon review of our contract initially signed we discovered that we did not initial the box for the participation in multiple years. We feel that we have informed them of our cancellation in a reasonable time and should not be obligated to participate. The company is deceptive in their cancellation terms and also did not provide notice prior to the deadline for us to cancel.American Consumer Shows LLC

The customer signed a multi year contract and canceled after the cancel date. Yes, their cancellation was only a few days late, but our cancel policy is strict and we do not accept cancellations after the cancel date.Multi year is something the customer chooses, not something that is required. They signed for the fall '22 show which placed them automatically in the fall '23 show with an 8/1 cancel date that was not exercised. The fall contract only enrolls a vendor into the following years fall show, it does not place them in the spring show. Each season has its own contract. We did call to renew the vendor into the spring '23 show, which the declined. The customer replied via email stating they were not able to to April, but did not cancel from November 2023. The customer has paid for their booth space and is released from their multi year contract moving forward. We are looking forward to having them at the show in a few weeks and appreciate their participation. best, ACS.Review fromLinds F

Im 36 years old and this is the first time Ive ever written a bad review. This place does bad business - make sure you read the fine print!!This is a SCAM- such a shame this company hasnt been investigated enough for taking advantage of small business owners. We were prepared (all 6 of my employees plus myself). We walked around, worked our booth and had amazing giveaways at our table. We did not get a single lead from this show and we followed up with all!The guests are truly just looking for free stuff. They do not do quality marketing. The put you on the website with every other vendor from all the shows they do across the nation and give you a small space to giveaway free stuff. Dont waste your time or you my money. They say they have an 80% return rate bc they put you in a multi year contract and if you dont pay they are going to report you to a collection agency. They tell you that you have the option but oh wow do they sell you on it with a bunch of fluff. The marketing they have at the show is literally a poster board with logos. So being featured means have your logo with a bunch of other logos. Do yourself a favor and just use the $1000+ towards your own ******** ad.We were also promised a list with bride contact info and got it very late after the show. There were other businesses that received the same week. Worst thing about all of this was *****************- when I talked with her she was so rude, defensive and disrespectful she literally said its not my fault people dont know how to read the fine print and think its our fault. - no I get it but you could certainly respect your customers and have a more professional approach- they had called me everyday after the cancel date for money but they send out NO REMINDERS about cancelling. Then her boss, ************************* was nice at first then when I called her with list on concerns she was very snippy and defensive and honestly didnt care about anything we said.American Consumer Shows LLC

ACS does a huge marketing campaign and delivered over **** brides plus guests at this event. We are sorry that you were disappointed with the show. While many vendors do get great results from our shows, not all vendors have the same experience. Yes, brides like free stuff! But most vendors are able to focus on those attendees that are truly at the event to hire service providers they need for their upcoming wedding. Also, we do not require a multi year contract. That is a choice a vendor makes. We clearly state on the front of the contract the multi year cancel date. Vendors can cancel for any reason without any penalty or fee up until that date. The cancel date is not buried in small print. We allow multi year cancellations anytime, as early as the day after the show or up until almost 9 months after the event, allowing for plenty of time to measure your results. You could have cancelled simply by emailing us prior to that date. Our cancel policy does not allow for cancel after the cancel date. Once your booth is paid in full, you can either do the show, accept the registered bride lead list if you do not choose to exhibit, or have credit on file for future use. Credit never expires. And your multi year contract will be cancelled. As far as a representative being disrespectful to you on the phone, we are deeply sorry. That is not taken lightly and is being addressed internally. We hope that you will decide to participate again in the show. Either way, we wish you much success. Best, ACS.Review fromJulia K

Customers deserve reminders. Especially if it will cost them over $1,000. My gym reminds me monthly of my $35 payment and allows me to cancel if needed. ACS is a vulturous company, giving no regard to people's livelihood. I understand that your clients signed a contract stating they'd participate in the following expos as well, but it is incredibly sketchy for a business to go radio silent immediately after signing that contract. It is clearly an issue amongst your customers, ACS, so why don't you fix it? Take some of that money that you're happily taking away from people who can't afford it and invest in software that will send out email reminders BEFORE the option of opting out is expired. BBB is here to review the way a business functions... whoever responds to these things is arguing, "ACS is the biggest blah blah blah." Just because people show up for your events doesn't mean you are successful with your clients and how you serve them. You lack integrity, and that, to me, makes for one terribly run business. They're also making it sound like we owe for booths that we've previously run... NO! We're complaining about coming years and threats to be put into collections for booths we haven't even started considering yet. WITH NO WARNING. Now we get communication when it's past the time we can cancel, and your mouths need feeding? Again, they have no integrity, no regard for their clients, and no shame. For those of you who have been sweet-talked and victimized by ****** am praying for financial health and for you to get through this. I have over ****** followers on social media and will post a video regarding all of this. I have been picked up by major news outlets before and expect them to pick up on this. If you'd like to share your story, please leave a comment and I'll reach out. ****** hope you change your ways and take some sound advice. Learn how to run a business. The most successful businesses care about their people. Step up.American Consumer Shows LLC

*****, our contracts do NOT require that a business be on auto renew. You, as the business owner, specifically opted for the multi year contract. The contract clearly states the cancel date right on the front, and explains the multi year. You owe for the upcoming show because you did not choose to cancel prior to the cancel date. If you had, we would have taken you out with no penalty or fee. After the cancel date cancellations are not accepted. Our representatives will help you resolve this mater. You will need to pay for the booth, but If you cannot attend we issue credit to a future show and cancel your multi year status. Regards, ACS.Review fromAlaina H

Twrrible company with very predatory contracts. BUYER BEWARE. In April of ******************************************** June 2023. After reading bad reviews and no longer being able to attend on the date I had requested I requested a refund which they refused to provide stating that I was not fulfilling my end of the contract by wanting out of the contract despite having paid them. After talking back and forth with the sales manager on how I was told that I could cancel anytime by my initial sales rep, I finally relented and agreed to do the fall show. Come fall I am no longer able to attend and I was told initially by the sales manager this credit was never expiring only for them to come back very agitated and say if I rescheduled my credit would be split between two future shows. No where in the contract does it say this and so I called the sales manager who raised their voice at me explaining she was not going to argue with me before I had a chance to speak. I decided to just take the loss on my money and walk away rather than sit there being yelled at by the company I hired to be a platform for my business. To all my wedding vendor family, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT book a show with ACS consumer shows. The people and process will leave you frustrated, confused, and now out -almost $600.American Consumer Shows LLC

I do see that your credit was applied in full and that you are exhibiting at the ************** Bridal expo this upcoming October 29, 2023. We hope that the show is a good experience for your business and welcome your feedback after the event. Kind regards,ACS.Review fromHaylee U

The other reviews are correct and 100% true! This company is a complete scam and trash! We did one show last year and decided not to ever do it again (it wasn't worth the extreme amount of money we had to pay and the turnout was terrible). They have not stopped calling me and emailing me. I told them I would not be attending this year's show and ***** with ACS told me I am obligated to attend this year's show and each show thereafter because I initialed some BS contract (which by the way doesn't state anything she was telling me on the phone) and that I owe them $1000 or I'll be sent to collections.. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!American Consumer Shows LLC

ACS is the #1 producer of consumer shows nationwide. The show in reference was extremely well attended. ACS delivered over **** brides for the fall '22 show in *******, **. Most vendors do very well. Its unfortunate this particular company did not find the show beneficial. Vendors, not the account rep, specifically choose to register as multi year or not. The contract does NOT require a multi year commitment. It is the vendor's responsibility to opt out by the cancel date. There is no penalty to cancel for any reason as long as the cancel is prior to the cancel date. After the cancel date we dont accept cancellations and payment is required. ACS events are well advertised, well attended and a smart marketing opportunity for those vendors that prepare well, work their booth and follow up on their leads! Kind regards, ACS.
