I work for a company that runs 34 ***** *** locations throughout the state of Pennsylvania. We had the company Buffalo Biodiesel collecting used kitchen oil/grease from 14 of our locations. At some point during the pandemic (2021), they stopped servicing our locations due to theft, but they never notified us that they stopped servicing us. Our contract was active the whole time and they were not collecting from our locations at all. Anyway, our contracts ended in April of 2024, except for one contract that ended in November of 2024. We have a new company now, but Buffalo Biodiesel left their grease collection containers at our locations. I called several times and was told to email their customer service email to request that all bins be removed. I received no response. I mailed a letter to them via certified mail on October 2, 2024 and asked that they please remove their bins no later than November 5, 2024. I received no response and the bins were not removed. Every time I call their number now, there is no answer, the line just rings continuously. I am not exaggerating when I say that I let the phone ring for 15 minutes this past week before hanging up. I am having an incredibly difficult time getting their bins removed now that I have done my due diligence in alerting them that I would resort to junk removal/law enforcement. Law enforcement and junk removal services will not help me. I need their bins removed. I don't understand how they can even abandon that many containers, their ****** reviews show that they do this to many other customers. I just want the bins removed, I do not want to cause them any loss, but I am so close to pursuing litigation at this point.

We are getting caught up with removals in this area.  We should have all these locations removed by 02/28/25.  We have removed location ***** already.  ****** can call me directly if needed ************

      Customer Answer

      Date: 02/12/2025

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. This response is unacceptable. I originally requested the removal of these bins via certified mail in October 2024, with a deadline of November 1, 2024. It is now February 2025, and the bins remain on our properties. Your company ignored my multiple requests, failed to communicate, and even went so far as to block my phone number. The fact that I had to escalate this issue to the Better Business Bureau just to receive a response is completely unreasonable. I will consider this issue resolved ONLY when ALL bins have been removed from our premises. I have no interest in further phone communication; I have made myself perfectly clear and I expect this matter to be handled as requested, without delay.

We are not blocking your phone number.  We Have been short-staffed in this service zone but are now fully staffed and running removals.  We have made these removals a priority and anticipate them to be removed in the next two weeks but wanted to provide a realistic time line so we are still saying all vats will be removed by 2/28/25.  It typically takes up to 90 days for removals, these were added to our schedule in November.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 02/12/2025

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

Allow me to correct myself: the first time I requested for these bins to be removed was JULY of 2024 via email, as I was directed to do by someone named Scott. That email went ignored. The certified letter was received by your company on October 7th of 2024, yet the bins were only listed for removal in November.  The reason why I believe that your company blocked my number is because when I called from my office phone (the phone I had been using to make daily calls to your company), the phone rang for 15 minutes before I hung up. I am not exaggerating when I say 15 minutes. When I called from my personal phone, my call was answered on the second ring. These calls happened back-to-back. I do not care if you were short staffed, the lack of communication on your end is appalling and from what I have read about your company in ****** reviews and *********, I am hardly the first to have been ignored for MONTHS regarding abandoned equipment - I will be letting as many people as possible know that they can elicit a response from you through the BBB. The fact that I had to contact the BBB, the Attorney General, law enforcement, and junk removal services due to your gross negligence has frustrated me to no end and while I do not wish to cause your company any harm, I will not let this go quietly. An apology would be a great start for you - I have yet to see you take any accountability for your shortcomings and the massive inconvenience you have caused my company.  As I have already stated, I will not close out this case until ALL Buffalo Biodiesel equipment has been removed from ALL of our premises.  Regards,
      ****** *******

      Business Response

      Date: 02/19/2025

We are sorry for any inconvenience and we have your removals flagged as a priority.  We provided a date as to when we will have all of the vats removed.  Our 1 800 number is managed by a third party so we do not have the ability to block numbers.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 03/05/2025

Problem:This is the second time I am reaching out about the same issue: Buffalo Biodiesel has STILL not removed their equipment from our premises. I have made countless requests in writing and over the phone asking them to please remove their grease collection containers from our ***** *** properties - I have been asking them since July of 2024. In the first BBB complaint, I was assured by Buffalo that they would have the bins removed no later than 2/28/2025. To my knowledge, out of the 14 containers, only 2 have been removed. I want their equipment off our property immediately. Also, the phone number (717-949-2092) that was provided by Buffalo in their message through BBB is not working. The first time I called, the phone rang once and went to voicemail. The second and third time I called, the phone number was not in service - why is there such an issue with answering the phone? I wanted to try calling the number before opening another BBB complaint, but I am at my wits end with this business. I want absolutely nothing to do with them, I just want their bins off our premises. Their lack of transparency and accountability is not what makes a good business. They absolutely SHOULD NOT have a BBB rating of A+ if this is how they operate - they cannot be trusted to do as they say and no one is holding them accountable. I should not have to track them down through the BBB to get them to fulfill their duty as a company. This whole circus of them refusing to remove these bins is EGREGIOUS. Law enforcement told me that I am legally free to do with these bins as I like. I would have scrapped them by now if they were not contaminated. Buffalo should consider themselves lucky I am even still reaching out to them. Please get the bins removed YESTERDAY.   selectDesired Outcome:Removal of equipment from our premises.

We have started removing the Vats from your locations and will have all remaining equipment removed by 04/15/2025.  You have a lot of locations spread across PA, the April Date is the best we can do.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Ok, April 15th, I'm marking my calendar and will be checking with my stores regularly. I will not resolve this complaint until all Buffalo Biodiesel vats are removed from our premises. Since Buffalo previously stated no later than 2/28/25, I cannot take them at their word. I will keep this dialogue open until all vats are removed.

I filed this complaint back in January.  Buffalo Biodiesel will not remove the vats.  They said they would but never did.  Then, after BBB pushed them to provide a date that the vats would be removed by, Buffalo Biodiesel stated they would remove the vats by 4-15-2025.  THEY STILL HAVE NOT REMOVED THE VATS.

In the four years we have been with Buffalo Biodiesel, we have never received a check for our oil. We have received this “warning” from them a few times now. Unsure as to how they “know our oil has been stolen”.. but it sounds like an excuse to not pay anyone. When you call any number on that sheet it is unavailable. We will be looking into another company. I have seen nothing but bad reviews regarding this company when it comes to removing containers. Hopefully we will not have that issue and can part peacefully.

Buffalo Biodiesel Inc has abandoned an oil container (dumpster size) on my property for over 4 months. The prior owner of the property was a restaurant and the current use no longer needs this. The service was ended in early 2024. They were notified by me following our closing in August 2024 that they need to remove their biodiesel container from our property. We have construction going on at the property and it was blocking this construction. I had to have a lift move the container to container to continue my construction project. Needless to say, the container is still at my property. I have reached out to the business on multiple occasions to have them remove the container that belongs to them and they have continued to say "it is scheduled". This is not the case as they are not able to confirm a time, date or anything. The person I most recently spoke to stated that they do not have a box truck to pick it up in the area so when they next get one theyd go get it. Again, this is not suffice, they need to come and remove the container from our property. It has been over 90 days.

On August 6, 2024 a sales person named Ross B******* came into my pizzeria after noticing that my oil disposal tank with a ***** ***** ********** logo on it was in the back of my restaurant. He came into my store and informed me that ***** ***** ********** was no longer in business and asked if I wanted to sign up for oil disposal with his company called Buffalo Biodiesel. What he failed to mention was that ***** ***** was purchased by a company called ********* **********. Without that information I entered into a 1 year agreement with his company. A few weeks later a representative from ********* ********** came in stating that they were coming by because they received a cancellation notice and request to pick up the current oil tank on my behalf. I reached out to Buffalo Biodiesel explaining to them the situation and hoping that since they misrepresented the facts to me that they would let me out of the agreement that I signed with them and allow me to continue on with business as usual. After a week of not hearing back from them I called again and spoke to a "Mike" who would not give me his last name and essentially said that they were not going to let me out of the agreement. Since signing this agreement they still have not placed an oil removal tank in the back of my restaurant. I would like for this company to either provide the service they signed up for or let me out of the contract since it has been more than 60 days since agreement execution.

I have a commercial property where a tenant hired this company’s cooking oil disposal service. The tenant left the property over a year ago and Buffalo Biodiesel still has not removed their large oil container from the property. It stinks and is attracting pests. I have contacted them many times, left messages and now they won’t answer my call or return my call.

Kevin, I called ******* today to discuss this matter as there was some confusion with this account.  Apparently, ****** is the property owner not the restaurant owner so when our customer service rep called the restaurant owner to ask if they were still in business the owner stated they were.  Our customer service rep closed removal request because the restaurant was confirmed still in business and under contract with us.  When I talked with ****** I was able to confirm that the restaurant was still open but had moved to another location so we will schedule the Vat to be removed.  I told ****** it would take us up to 14 days to remove the Vat.  I also gave him my cell phone number to contact me directly if needed. Thanks, Scott

We are under contract with Buffalo Biodiesel and have had nothing but issues with them. They are horrible at timeliness with oil pickup, they leave a huge mess every time they come pick up. They refuse to pickup their oil disposal bin that we no longer want to use.

We have been calling them for over a year now to remove their bin off of our property. We talked to the health department and wanted it gone because it’s not being used. She told us to call and tell them the health department wants it gone and nothing has worked me and my husband and manager have called dozens of times over the last year or more. Complaint: Unresolved Request for Container Removal from My Property

Business Name: ****** ***** prior tenant
      Property Address: ***** ****** **** *** ***** ******* ** *****  Complaint Details:

I recently purchased the property located at ***** ****** **** *** ***** ******* ** *****. For the past 60 days, I have been requesting that Buffalo Biodiesel remove a container they have on my property. Initially, they assured me that the container would be removed within 45 days or less. However, despite multiple follow-up calls and reminders, the container has not been removed.

This container is no longer needed as the previous tenant, who utilized it, has moved out. I need the container removed immediately to proceed with necessary construction work on the property. The delay is causing unnecessary setbacks, and I find it unacceptable that my repeated requests have been ignored.

I am asking that Buffalo Biodiesel remove the container from my property as soon as possible to prevent further delays in my construction project.

I've been informed that the removal will take a long time, longer than the date you mentioned of 07/06/2024. This delay is unfair and excessive. We can't wait two months for its removal, as we're waiting on you to proceed with laying new concrete on the property. This is causing significant delays for us! I want a confirmed date for its removal, not just being told we're on a list or a top priority. It needs to be scheduled right away

We signed a lease to open a new restaurant a year ago. We worked to open this business doing so in July 2023. After almost 10 months of trying to contact Buffalo Bio to remove their waste container from our property we finally were able to get someone to answer our phone call around May 1st 2024. We were told by Jeff Freier we would need to submit in writing that we wanted it removed and why. He was to email us that day so we could respond to the email about the removal. On May 8th 2024 at 9:12am we finally received the email from Jeff. We responded on May 8th at 10:22am that we wanted it removed because we don't have a contract with them and the container is in bad shape. Sarah in customer service replied on May 23rd that they had scheduled removal and to allow a week to coordinate the pickup. We have made multiple attempts to contact them by email since with no responses. They have no right to have this container on our property and it is hindering our business operations. This container should have been removed 2 months ago.

******** ****** *** ***** is not a customer of ours and has never been a customer of ours.  Our equipment was placed on the property Oct 3, 2019 when the business was under a different owner (****** ******* *****), we were never contacted by anyone at ******* ******* to remove our equipment.     On May 7th   2024.  ****** ***** the new owner called requesting the removal.  On May 23rd  2024 the removal was scheduled.  Our customer service notes do indicate our Customer Service Rep did tell them the removal would take a week to coordinate (meaning it could take a week to get scheduled)  On Jun 28th, the new owner called to see why the equipment wasn’t picked up.  We then escalated the pickup and it is on or “hot list”.  We have made this pick up a priority even though this business has never been a customer of ours.  Again our policy is to remove equipment within 90 days.  Most removals ate well under that time frame but depending on where the business is located and current staffing levels, it can take up to the full 90 days.  The owner called again on Jul 8th and we did inform him we would get out ASAP and the removal is on our schedule.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  It does not matter if we aren't a customer of yours. There has been more than enough time to remove your equipment. You are storing a container  on my property without my permission. Also, as i noted in my complaint i have been trying to get your company to pick this up since 2023. ****** ******* ***** closed in January 2023.  It took me calling 27 times in a row one day for me to finally talk to someone who was willing to help me. I noticed I am not the only business who has had this issue with your company. Please send me the date you will be on site yo pick up your container. We will need to coordinate with you to have it removed.
      Regards,

      **** *****

We have tried to call the company about money they are obligated to pay us for taking our used cooking oil. They have refused to pay and refuse to pick up their container that is on our property. I have called and left numerous messages without any response. If you read their reviews this is their M.O. and have been ripping customers off for years.
