      I canceled my residential trash service 01/25 due to continued problems with service. I only kept them as long as I did as a service provider because there were no other options in my area at the time. There were over 14 occurrences In a 2 year span that my trash was not collected and reported directly to rumpke customer service and the account was not credited. On a separate occurrence, a large rolling cart that was just purchased($125) was thrown out along with the trash, and was also reported and met without remedy. I made countless calls and emails, both during and after canceling service to remedy this situation. I have also recently received collection notices from a 3rd party.
      Its also important to note that after canceling service with Rumpke, they continued randomly picking up my trash all the way into June which caused a bit of confusion with the new service provider, as there was usually nothing to pick up for the first 6 months. (Service pick up date is the same day as Rumpke) My issue is not an isolated event. Several neighbors have also switched to a new provider due to similar ongoing incidents.

      I did not receive service for which I had paid and felt I was owed a refund. The customer service representative that took my call when i canceled, stated there was no blance owed on the account and that any refund would be mailed out. Now Rumpke claims I owe more money for service that was not properly credited. This is an absolutely terrible business to deal with.

      I rented and scheduled a 10-yard dumpster pickup with Rumpke for July 1, 2025. On that day, my husband and I both witnessed the driver pass our home without stopping. The dumpster is located on a steep driveway and not visible from the road — the only way to see it is to drive down the driveway, which the driver never attempted to do. I strongly dispute the claim that the dumpster was "too full to pick up," and I have photos showing it was within the allowable fill line.

      When I called customer service on July 2, I was told the pickup was rescheduled for July 3. However, no one came on July 3, and the dumpster remains at my property, obstructing scheduled renovation work and incurring additional contractor costs.

      I was not provided a formal service agreement outlining these terms. The false “overfilled” report and failure to complete the rescheduled pickup have caused avoidable delays, stress, and financial loss.

      The total cost of the dumpster was $201.95.

      Desired Resolution:

      1. Acknowledge the missed pickup and incorrect report.

      2. Expedite removal of the dumpster immediately.

      3. At minimum, refund or offer compensation or credit for project delays and resulting inconvenience.

      4. Staff training.

      Due to the repeated failures and lack of resolution, I am filing this formal complaint with the BBB and requesting prompt action.

      Several occasions of yard waste not being picked up even though we are paying for the service. We've had to call several times on different occasions about this. We never get a reason on why it's not being picked up. We've been with Rumpke for over 7 years now and I am very disappointed on how they are handling this. We are paying for a service that is starting to come with a hit or miss. If the day of the pickup is a problem than why not just change the day of pickup? We are not having issues with the regular pickup, just the yard waste. This is starting to become a big inconvenience. If they are shirt on people and know they can't make it, why not send a text saying they won't be out that day? They send a text for everything else. They are not doing right by the customer. Why not be honest on what the issue is? We are paying for a service that is not being fulfilled. This is the third time now that we've had to call about our yard waste not being picked up. There needs to be some type of credit for the missed pickups. We pay our bill on time so there's no excuse.

      My trash was set out on the street at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 17, 2025 for the scheduled Wednesday pick up. It was not picked up, driver reported the trash was not set out. This is not correct. I spoke with customer service rep Erin on Thursday, June 19, who filed a dispute and said it would be picked up within 24-48 hours. It was not. The trash has been at the street since Tuesday 6/17. Yesterday was Wednesday, June 25, the scheduled pick up day. Once again, my trash was not picked up. Today, Thursday, June 26, 2025, I spoke with customer service rep Brandon, and was told that the driver again had reported the trash was not set out, when in fact, it has been at the street for 10 consecutive days. I asked Brandon to transfer me to a supervisor, and he refused. This problem needs to be corrected, and quickly. Our trash container is full and has no room for more bags.
      This is by far the worst service I have ever had from a garbage collection company. I am paying for trash removal. Rumpke needs to do their job.

      I am being charge for a service that I DID NOT request, I had told them that "I am done with the dumpster and need them to come and get it". I have contacted them and I have been told that they ASSUMED that I wanted an exchange. When it was provide I immediately called and told they that I DID NOT ask for another one. I have attached a copy of the bill showing that on the 28 a charge for $330.00 and the 2 days later another charge for $330.00. It states that I requested an exchange and I DID NOT request that. I was also told by a representative the day that I called and told them about the mistake, they would review the call. I received a call back after they had review the call and they stated to me that I would be getting credit for the amount, but would have to wait until the unit was pickup and that there was no trash in the unit. I check the unit myself to make sure there was nothing in it. I also was never told that I would have to use the word removal or exchange. I have rented from them multiple times and I have never used either of those words. I asked them to review all of my calls and compare them. They refused. I am in business for myself and the first lesson learned is you never assume what someone else is thinking.

      The Rumpke drivers are careless and lazy. Every time we try to contact them via their website, it magically times out. Trash pick up was today. The driver picked up 90% of the items on the curb, but he launched one on our lawn, which is now blocking our sidewalk. If your drivers cant handle a piece of PVC pipe, why are they driving a 20,000lb truck? I have video proof that shows your driver launching our trash in our yard. Your drivers also are carless and let trash fly out onto the street because they are moving so fast to let the containers empty fully. Everyone on our street has had to pick up trash that has been left by the drivers. Ridiculous. The video is to large to upload. I can email to whoever

      multiple times a month they dont pick up our trash or anyone else on our road. we have a low water crossing that floods often from the south, when the water is up they just dont pick up trash. they can easily go from the north and service our road (12-15 customers) but they dont. trouble is we cant store extra week of trash till the next weeks scheduled run. there is another route on *** *** thats only 1.5 miles away that can take this road over on their route and then the low water crossing is irrelevant. i have to actually call every time and wait 15-20 mins on hold to ask for credit for the skipped week. then find a place to store extra stinking trash until they do get it the next week. this is terrible that i have to keep calling and others on my road suffer the same fate. a route change would resolve this.

      only issue is they offered no solution when wet season is back from November through april and the creek floods again then it will be same issue  but yes they picked up trash and should be fine till early winter and it will be same issue again since they dont have a small truck to turn around even though my driveway is the county school bus turn around spot.    Plenty big enough for trash truck to turn around

      I am the property manager for an apartment complex, and we have three dumpsters that are supposed to be emptied every week. One of those dumpsters has not been emptied in 3 weeks. I have called dispatch on 6/4 and 6/17 and both times they said that the dumpster will be emptied that day. That dumpster is still full, I called today, and dispatch told me today that they couldn't get to the dumpster cause of the cars in the public street. This is the first time I was made aware of this, and it has not been an issue before. I have tenants and neighbors calling daily about the dumpster

      I pay for two cans and walk out service which means they are supposed to retrieve the cans from beside my garage, empty them, and return them to their original location. For the last 4-6 months they have missed at least one weekly pickup per month, often more, forcing me to call in and request they send someone back out to do their job. Sometimes they make it the next day, sometimes they don't come again until the next scheduled pickup date. This week they dragged the cans to the end of the driveway in the morning and left them blocking access to the driveway so that I had to park in the street and move them myself when I got home at which time I discovered they hadn't been emptied yet again. I have called in to address this issue no less than a dozen times and they have not corrected it. Blocking the driveway is an act of retaliation for reporting their incompetence. There is no logical reason to bring the cans to the end of the driveway and not empty them. At this point they've known about and failed to correct the issue for 3 billing cycles which makes it theft in my eyes as they knowingly bill me for services they are not providing.

      I am unhappy that my account was sent to collection prior to a complete billing cycle. I believe Rumpke was angry that I canceled by service. It took Rumpke just short of a month to come pick up their equipment at my house. I called numerous times to ask that it be picked up. It has to be moved and mowed around and the Township in which we reside had called to complain about leaving the trash cans out for so long. When they finally picked them up and issued a final invoice some time later I was planning on paying it in the same number of days they took to pick up their property. It was paid in full 6/12/2025 and 6/14/2025 I received a letter from ***** ** ***** ********* ********* - a collection agency. I can imagine this will reflect on my credit score and believe Rumpke needs to correct this immediately and provide proof it was corrected to all 3 major credit bureaus.
