Every other Tuesday on recycling and lawn pickup the Rumpke drivers drive around our block in reverse causing a major safety issue for drivers and pedestrians who assume like most people would that the trucks are moving forward not backward.Business Response

We received two invoices from RUMPKE on 5/13/25 and 6/9/25.
We do not subscribe to RUMPKE's service, nor have we ever initiated contact to sign up for their service. They have billed us and created an account under our names without our consent. We have been using Republic Services for nearly a decade and have never once used RUMPKE.
My wife and I have made multiple calls to inform them of this error and requested them to cancel the charges and the account, but they persist in billing us. We are concerned that they might report this to collections, even though the invoice is entirely false.
To clarify, we have never used RUMPKE's services or contacted them, except to dispute these invoices.Business Response

The problem started when I ordered portable toilet. They’re supposed to come in a service at every single month but every month somebody comes in put the number on it and leaves it unclaimed I called them. I complain. They told me somebody was there and it was serviced, but if you look at it from the inside is still disgusting and has not been serviced or touched. They’re a bunch of liars and thieves. They have done that to me in another location where they don’t pick up the dumpster and they’re supposed to comein and do it every single week. Multiple locations same problem I wonder how many other people they have done this to.? if you guys don’t resolve this issue, I will be filing a lawsuit against this company in court.Business Response

On the morning of April 30, 2025, at approximately 8:10 AM, my wife was driving down our road when the arm of a dumpster placed by Rumpke struck her passenger side mirror breaking loose striking her door and window denting the door and breaking the window. She was fully within her lane and passing an oncoming vehicle when the incident occurred. There was no swerving or illegal maneuvering — the dumpster had simply been placed so close to the edge of the roadway that its arm extended into the traffic lane, becoming a hazard.
We are Rumpke customers for regular trash pickup, but we did not order this dumpster — it was at a different property just down the road from my house on sugar run road. I contacted Rumpke around 10:00 AM the same morning to report what happened. I was told someone would follow up with me, but despite calling two more times, I didn’t receive a response until May 27. At that point, I was informed over the phone that the claim paperwork had been sent to the wrong email address — even though I had already provided my correct email and phone number at least twice.
After finally connecting with someone, I submitted a photo showing the dumpster arm visibly protruding into the roadway. The same day as the accident sometime before atleast 5:30 PM, the dumpster had been moved farther from the road, which suggests Rumpke acknowledged it had been improperly placed.
Despite the photo evidence and the long delay in handling the claim, Rumpke denied responsibility, stating that the dumpster was not in the roadway. That simply isn’t true. The damage to our vehicle was caused by equipment they placed too close to a public road. This was not a random accident — it was the result of poor placement and lack of regard for public safety.
All I’m asking for is fair compensation for the damage their equipment caused and accountability for how this situation was handled.Business Response

I didn't pay Rumpke so they stopped my service. I paid and got service reinstated. Rumpke came on trash day and took my trash. I thought everything was fine. I took the container back to my porch and put next week's trash in. I did an errand and when I got back my Rumpke container was gone. I called them and they told me there was a mix up. That was over a week ago. They told they'd take my trash nags if I put them at the curb if the container was still not there yet. The container didn't come and they didn't take the bags. We have been customers of Rumpke for several years. We were notified by mail that starting April 14th, 2025 our trash pick-up day was changing Wednesday to Tuesday. Ever week since the change, except for one, Rumpke has not pick-up our trash. We are forced to call them and listen to the call center agents apologies and lie. They state that they have spoken to the operations department and trash service will be completed within 24 hours (lately they are stating 48 hours). For the first four weeks, it took calling them on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before they finally picked up our trash on Friday. I have asked to speak with an operations supervisor on almost every occasion and I'm always told that nobody from operation is in the office; they will leave a note of the supervisor's desk and have them call me. I have only received on call back from a supervisor who stated, "Sorry, new drive and then another new drive. You have the green trash cans, right...yes, I know where you live. We are going to give you a Rumpke trash can so our drivers don't miss your trash service ever again." A few days later, I found a Rumpke trash can in the ditch. We have used the Rumpke trash can in addition to our personally owned trash cans ever week since with service being missed each week. I have literally spent hours on the phone trying to get resolution to this issue but keep getting the same run around. On 5/27/2025, I spoke with a Customer Service Agent, then a Team Leader, then a Supervisor, and finally a Call Center Manager who informed me that the Operations Department was in the same building and she could confirm that the entire Operations Department was vacant for the remainder of the day. She stated that she AND the Operations Department would be working tomorrow (Saturday); she guaranteed me that Mr. O****** (Regional VP) or Mr. V***** (Operations Manager) would call me the next morning (Saturday). Rumpke waste service recently took over service from *** ******** in the **********, ** area. Scheduled pick up is on Fridays. On Friday May 16. 2025 they did not pick up trash. The office is closed weekends and holidays. I called on Monday May 19 and told they'd pick up within 48 hours. On Wednesday May 21, they still did not pick up, I called and was told that they'd pick all trash up on Friday the 23 no charge for extra bags. I called about noon on the 23rd because still not picked up. I was told that even though the office closes that they pick up into the evening. They did not pick up and it was a holiday weekend with no way to contact until Tuesday. I did call again today Wednesday the 28th add there had been no pick up (no one else has been picked up that use Rumpke in our area either). I just received an email stating that the office person I spoke with has received no response from their escalation of the problem. This week Friday the 30 will be 3 weeks of trash sitting outside especially if they do not pick up. This is unacceptable.Business Response

For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.I was assured that my trash would be picked up on Saturday, May 30. It was not, infact the truck stopped infront of my house, for a rest break?, the truck departed and left the trash on the curb. I had to make another call on Monday June 2, again assured it would be picked up by end of day. Received a call from the road supervisor letting me know that it was to have been picked up. I checked at 530 pm it had not been picked up. Called supervisor back, was told it would be picked up on June 3 in the morning. This did occur, however we had to rebag trash for 3 weeks due to it not being picked up. The company offered 3 weeks of credit which is only good if I continue to use their service. For all the frustration and mess I would give them a chance if they gave 6 weeks credit on my next bill.

A few years ago I had Rumpke service for garbage collection at my home. The service was very erratic, and some weeks they wouldn't take my garbage at all, despite me abiding by their requirements. Their garbage men would dishonestly claim that my garbage was "too heavy" even though I actually weighed it. So I stopped the service. Recently I tried to give them a second chance. Bad idea. The first week they didn't pick up my garbage at all. The second week they didn't take all of it, despite me speaking with the CSR about having extra trash to pick up. This week they took two bags and left two bags, both of which were not overweight and did not contain anything forbidden. I receive huge bills for service that isn't delivered. This company is happy to take your money but not take your trash. I would like to cease all business with them and I refuse to pay for service that was not fully delivered.Business Response
