01-18-2018 to 07-21-2018 I had rumpke Waste services at the address **** ********* **. I moved to 3610 vanguard dr in July of 2018 and resumed my services with rumpke at that address. September of 2023 I stopped making my payments to rumpke because they never provided me the service they promised with yard Waste pick up. April of 2024 I decided to resume service and pay my past due balance of $432 and agree to resume service for $45.50 per month and agreed to automatic payments for said amount. May of 2024 rumpke automatically withdraws $187.50 from my account. When I call to see why they had stolen so much money from me, they said it was because of a previous balance at the address from 5 years prior. When I explained to them that is not what was discussed they gave me an apology but would not refund my money. I asked then why no one had mentioned the previous invoice to me and why it wouldn't have been added to my bill in 2018 when I moved locations, again, no one had any answers. I feel robbed and there's nothing I can legally do to make them return my payment. This company should be disbanded.Business Response

I moved to *********/ ************ in January of this year, 2024. I do not have any other options but to use Rumpke. As recent as 5/16/24 they have skipped picking up my recycling. This is a frequent occurrence. Since I have lived here, I have not received 1 month of the frequency that they bill for. They used to call me back when I leave messages when I get home from work and see it missed but have stopped doing that. When they do call they always tell me they will look into it and call me back. This happend most recently on 5/9/23 when they skipped that week and never called back after my initial call as promised. I can tell by their replies to others on the BBB that they reply just to keep the grade and confirm things in isolation just like they do when you try and beg them to provide the service that they bill for. Yes, they have called me back in the past but stopped doing it consistently. If they reply to this post that they pick up stuff eventually, that is true but not always. I see so many complaints that they dont provide the service and frequency that they bill for. I am begging for help to get a call back and I just want the service that I pay for. I sure hope they dont reply with another "very sorry". I want this fixed and I want the service that I pay for, not another empty apology. I dont where to go from here. I was then handed over to Jamie R*** at Rumpke. I set the TV out at the curb on the evening of 2 May 2024. True to form, Rumpke did not take the TV, they did take the trash. I reported this to Jamie R*** who then requested an image for “review”. Jamie (after reviewing the image) informed the TV would be picked up with in 24 to 48 business hours. The following Tuesday and true to Rumpke substandard service, the TV was still there. I complained (again).
Rumpke was going to correct this deficiency and contact the route supervisor. Which in standard fashion produced nothing. An email was submitted on behalf to the operations team and leadership team. Eventually I received a response from

Naturally C’rita reinvented the wheel. Another image of the TV had to be submitted for review. After “careful” consideration, Rumpke through this Ci’rita denied the pickup:

We can take a flat screen television, as long as it does not exceed 55” in screen size, or exceed 50lbs.
Unfortunately, we cannot service floor model or console televisions via curbside pick-up. If the television is larger than what can be taken at the curb Rumpke does offer alternatives. Please let us know if you are interested in hearing more about those options.

I’m sure Rumpke went to the expense of performing image analysis to make their determination. My a*s. This is now Friday May 10th. At no point did anyone ask me for specs on the TV. Instead, I supplied them to the twits at Rumpke. The TV is well within their guidelines. Now Rumpke after weeks in the rain, breaking the screen from throwing it to the ground (was not broken when I took the TV out initially) and allowing the TV to delaminate may actually get their heads out of their *** and do their damned job. Seem right to you?!
There are lengthy email chains, and I did stop being polite since I am paying for this horseshit. Rumpke has now “graciously: decided to perform their damned job. We shall see. As of today, the TV is still by the road face down and awaiting pickup. I have warned Rumpke that is they leave a mess, broken glass, damaged electronics, etc, I’ll contact the State EPA as water flows through that area.
Rumpke should delete my next bill in its entirety. My time has value. Rumpke can deduct next quarters fees from their operations representative and their driver(s). Rumpkes service since we have lived in ********** has been borderline abysmal and this is why. I don’t want empty/hollow apologies, I want this to cost them money. That is the only way the band of low rent thieves will ever be forced to perform the tasks they are paid for.Business Response

I called Rumpke on 5/3/2024 to set up services at my new home beginning on 5/10/2024. I was provided with information about the cost and the service and paid via phone which I was told that I had to do. I also paid a service fee to pay via phone. On 5/3/2024 I paid $121.47 and was told that this was the charge for the first 3 months. Then, I received a bill in the mail stating that I owed an additional $40.49. I called Rumpke to ask about this on 5/13/2024 because my understanding was that I had already paid what was due for the first three months. The representative I spoke with informed that there had been two errors when the service was first set up. First, the original representative had selected the incorrect date for billing resulting in a week that had not been paid for. Second, the original agent had charged an incorrect lower service price per month. Despite these errors, the representative I spoke with on 5/13/2024 stated that she spoke with her supervisor and no credit or adjustment would be made. She apologized, said that she thought a credit should be issued, and said that there was nothing she could do since her supervisor had said no. I don't understand how there can be two errors in one phone call and the business is not willing to do anything about that. I would expect to receive correct information the first time that I call rather than receiving a surprise extra bill in the mail and then the company being unwilling to take any accountability for their error. As this is my first experience with the company, I'm definitely not happy and am considering switching my service to another provider in the area.Business Response

Rumpke contacted me by phone and explained that the original customer service representative was incorrect in at least two different ways (incorrect rate quoted and not charging me for a whole month when they should have) and they offered me a $10 statement credit. I would have preferred for them to honor what the original representative had told me (at least for this billing cycle) to demonstrate that "customer service is very important" to them but this solution will work for now while I explore other options. Also, when I went to try to pay the corrected amount, their online system still shows an incorrect amount as my balance. When I called about this, I was told that "the system is slow and takes a while to update." So, I can't pay the correct amount online yet and I can't pay over the phone unless I want to pay an extra processing fee. This has been my first experience with Rumpke and I have concerns that something like this may happen again so I'll likely be exploring other options for trash removal. Overall, the representatives that I've spoken have been kind and attentive although I have concerns about the company's policies and the training that they provide their front-line staff.

We have paid for trash pickup with Rumpke. Our pickup day is now on Friday every week. On the dates of 4/5/24, 4/19/24, and 5/3/24 our trash was not picked up. I called as soon as they were open for business. They would always promise to pick up within 24-48 hours. Only once did this happen. The other 2 times it was the following week. I have spoken to 4 people that will only give their first names. I have been told by a supervisor named Kayla that she would elevate my problem and issue a partial refund. Today is 5/10. Trash pickup day and they have not picked up trash again. Usually if it isn't picked up by 10am, it doesn't get picked up. We have no recourse to get a refund or use a different trash collection agency. We have 7 people in our home and we pay for an additional garbage can. We would like to receive the service that we pay for weekly without have to call and request it every week.Business Response

I pay for trash pickup services weekly. I also rent an extra receptacle for trash from Rumpke. They do not pick up my trash as agreed. The most recent failure was 12/6/2024. I have not logged dates myself of all the times our trash has been missed but I have called them. It has been more than once a month. Rumpke has recently started crediting my bill but this is not acceptable. I have a family of 8. We love directly on the Ohio River and storing extra trash around our receptacles due to them not providing the service has gone on long enough. I have had to spend my time calling them to ask for the service or a refund numerous times. They always promise to send truck back out but it never comes until the following scheduled pickup 1 week later. I have talked to multiple supervisors whom have assured me that they will fix the problem. The only time it became better was after reporting Rumpke to the BBB over a year ago. That was the only time that we received uninterrupted service for more than 2 months in a row.

Rumpke decided to miss my trash pick up on wednesday may 1. 24. I called the customer service the next day and reported it to them and they said they would be out within forty eight hours. Thursday and friday came and my trash still hasn't been Picked up. I called two more times on friday and now they tell me it's gonna be twenty four hours or by the end of the day friday. It's 7:50 PM on Friday and the trash is still sitting out there.And now I have no where to put my new trash. Your customer service told a bunch of lies. And that is very unacceptable. And now they will probably wait until Monday to come out.So I will have 2 days of new trash.That I have nowhere to put it because the cans are full. I am a care taker for an elderly person and they use adult under garments and they smell and we can't put them any where now.Business Response

We just started to move in on 4/25/2024 as we are moving furniture in I noticed we needed 1cans I called rumpke to have those delivered. The womanI spoke with states she put the order in but it may take a couple weeks. Today 5/1/2024 we had our trash at the curb and broke fown the boxes beside the trash can frin the city. I came home shortly before 11:00 a.m. and noticed our trash hadn't been taken. I immediately called customer service was interrogated by Amanda asking email anf phone number on file before she would here the complaint. I explained the trash was not taken she then advised because we had extra trash on the side which included bags
I told her that was a lie all bags are im trash canonly boxes were on side we are awaiting recycle bins. We had already removed boxes. While on the phone with her pur cans were delivered
She then stated the garbage men took pics of excess trash
I advised her again that's incorrect all bags are inside trash can. She then adds well the lid had to close. No problem I was unaware will someone come back today. She quickly interrupted and said no we have to wait until next week.I stated but we will have more trash she didn't care so I asked gor corporate she didn't give me a number ststing they don't have one. I find that hard to believe I advised I would be reaching out to better business bureau. We are just moving in we were not aware why weren't we told
She keep stating we wpuld have to pur hase an overage can. She was more focused on us purchasing an additional can imstead pf actually resolving the issueBusiness Response
