I purchased a business on November 22, 2023 and signed on with Paycor to track my employees' time electronically and to prepare paychecks, payroll tax deposits, and state and federal payroll tax filings for me. The time tracking was the primary draw to Paycor vs other companies which would perform the other functions more cheaply. On 12/1 or 12/8 I was told that the time tracking could not be implemented until after the first payroll was complete and that someone would contact me to do the implementation at that time. The first payroll was completed 12/15 and the second on 12/29. For over two weeks now my bookkeeper (who is authorized on the account) has called and emailed with increasing frequency and urgency trying to get someone to begin the implementation so my employees can track their time electronically. Aside from one email from my account manager cheerily telling me that she could "absolutely!" get this done for me I have heard nothing and have yet to have one contact from anyone on the time implementation team.

I would love to be able to use this product; the payrolls done with manually entered time work well, but manually tracking, calculating, and entering hours is not acceptable at all. If they can't or won't implement the time tracking immediately, I need a refund so I can move on to another company that will actually provide this service.

Today I woke up with multiple employees asking me why they haven't been paid. I reached out to paycor only to hear that they know about this issue, but that's all they can say. Literally thats it. They didn't give me a heads up that there would be a delay...nothing. They can't even tell me when employees can expect to be paid. Mind you we (the company) submitted our pay run on time. The issue (per usual) is all paycor.

I asked what happens to those employees who have bills set to come out of their account that now won't post because the funds aren't there. No answer. Who's going to pay any NSF fees that employees receive or returned check fees because it isn't their fault (nor ours) that they haven't gotten paid. The response I got was "management hasn't given me the answer to that" paycor is seriously terrible and at this point if they can't even ensure our employees are paid on time- what are they good for.

From Oct 9 to 19, 2023, Paycor salespersons aggressively sought our company to purchase their payroll services. They repeatedly sent us price comparisons with competitors, discussed with us concerns we had with our current payroll provider, and promised us a high-quality experience if we shifted our business to them.

The first payroll that Paycor was to implement was on Nov 2, 2023, and the implementation team, led by Cheryl H****, was unable to complete the payroll process, despite us providing them all necessary information. We also gave Paycor access to our prior payroll processing portal so they could readily pull our current information from that source.

Paycor did NOT conduct or complete the Nov 2, 2023 payroll and we (the owners) hand-wrote checks to our staff on the following day, based on our own internal payroll spreadsheet.

On Nov 13, 2023, I wrote to Paycor that we would not work with them moving forward, that they had not delivered on the 'seamless' transition that they had promised us and could not make payroll happen.

Subsequently, Nathan R****** (Regional Sales Dir) alerted us that if we terminate the contract we will need to pay an "implementation recovery fee" of $3,742 which they are now threatening to charge us for. We elected to terminate our agreement due to a material breach of our agreement with Paycor. Specifically, our sales rep repeatedly and explicitly conveyed to us during sales discussions that Paycor could seamlessly process our initial payroll date with no issues. This is precisely the reason why we agreed to switch to them -- we would NOT have switched if they had implied at all that there may be difficulties for them to process the initial payroll.

Note that I have documentation of their promises for a seamless implementation via email. These are confidential but I can provide if needed.

      ***** *******

      Problem:
Paycor *aggressively* sought our business to sign on with them for payroll processing; they came to our business, called us, emailed etc (see attachment). They promised that they could transition our payroll over from current processor seamlessly -- and could deliver our next forthcoming payroll without any issues. After we transitioned and the sales team punted us to the processing team, the team could not implement our first payroll. It was a disaster (they wouldn't answer our calls, emails etc) and at the last moment we had to hand-write checks to pay all of our staff. Because they could not deliver the initial payroll, we switched to paychex (who implemented our first payroll seamlessly) and we let Paycor know that we were transitioning to a new provider because they did not deliver. We terminated the contract by saying: "Paycor was not able? to meet the promised deliverables, which forced our hand to pursue another purveyor.: Paycor immediately began to threaten us with an early termination fee. Note that the contract we signed said that the termination fee would NOT be collected if payroll does not commence due to a material breach by Paycor, which in our opinion did occur in their inability to effectively deliver our first payroll. Note that I submitted this complaint previously to BBB and Paycor's Critical Response Team member Alex S****** responded " I do apologize for this inconvenience, I had to reassign this escalation over to our Implementation team. They took control over this on 12/26/23. I will get this email over to them so they can reach out to you." NO ONE at Paycor ever contacted us for resolution, and rather charged our bank account $2001.86 in Jan 2024. SHAME ON THIS BUSINESS for aggressively going after us for signing on to them, not being able to deliver on payroll, and then pursuing to fine us. This seems like a desperate move by a failing company -- preying on small businesses to make a buck.

We were transferred from *******, Inc. to Paycor in August 2023 to use them for our payroll services since ******* closed their payroll division. Since then, we have encountered numerous problems on Paycor's side. The transition was cumbersome, the account rep was never available and never responded to any of our inquiries and they made so many errors with employee's records when transferring. They never deliver our checks on time, they charge us extra for next day delivery by 10:30 am that they have missed at least 4 times by now (December 8, 2023) . Their management is never available to address our issues. The simply deliver the worst service especially for a payroll company who is dealing with employee's paychecks. It is hard to imagine how they still operate and are in business. We have to switch to another company and endure extra financial and labor cost because of Paycor's incompetency.

Hi, Thank you for your response to my complaint about Paycor, Inc., complaint number ********. The company has not reached out to me and no resolution offer has been made by them. They simply are careless about their clients and I am surprised how they are still in business particularly because they deal with payroll related matters. We are switching our services to ***, but our experience with Paycor has been nothing but trouble, problems, unsolved issues, and mistakes in transferring our information from *******( our original payroll provider who closed their payroll division and forced us into Paycor). They need to reach me in the office at ***** ********* I have not received any emails from them. I  do get an email from usually them when I call to their customer service line (which happens numerous times) about rating the service of the customer service representative. None of those emails end up in my junk/ spam folder, so I don't understand how this particular email from Paycor in response to my compliant would go to that folder!!! In fact, as I am writing this email I have an issue with our paycheck delivery. I have received UPS tracking for 2 of our 4 agencies that we are supposed to get the paychecks for today, the other 2 agencies are missing. I am on hold with their rep who is checking on the missing 2. Our issues have never been address and never been resolved. This company simply collects fees from us, but does not deliver as promised. Again, there is no email in any of my folders, no phone calls.

      Problem:
We were transferred to Paycor from ******* to process our payroll and HR in August 2023 since ******* closed their payroll department and handed us over to Paycor. The transition was extremely cumbersome and full of errors. Paycor's employees and incompetent, careless, rude, and irresponsible. After a few months of struggle, we have now moved on to *** since March 2024 however, since Paycor issued our W2s for 2023 we are no w in finding of numerous tax errors that they have made and note that we have about 300 employees. Just to give you an example, an employee who was to have additional $50.00 towards her federal taxes each pay period, has been marked and 50 dependents on Paycor meaning that whoever transferred the tax files put $50 additional amount as 50 additional exemptions and this employee has to pay over $14K in taxes now because of Paycor's lack of attention and irresponsible error that they have made during transferring of her file. I called them for correction and I was put on hold for 52 minutes before they dropped the line. We have had other issues with them and I had reported them before but it seems like it does not matter to them and they simply don't care.

This has to do with the service and response by Paycor. We have a payroll with Paycor and have been a client for over two years. In April they sent one email about a price increase with no numbers attached. Shame on the client for not paying attention. Paycor doubled the clients fees for their payroll service. This was discovered during the clients 3rd Quarter audit. We started a case with Paycor on 11.2.23. We were ignored for over two and a half weeks. Paycor changed the clients basic payroll package unilaterally with no approval. No extra services were ever requested or approved. You can not get anybody on the phone at Paycor. In 4- calls to service and support at their off shore all center you can not hear the reps because of the noise in the background and I was hung up on three times by their people. All three of these times were when i asked for a US call center or support. Even after the case number which is useless was opened they have continued to over bill the client. I have never been able to get any sales rep on the phone. I have even called a sales executive who I had spoken to years ago and they said they would call me back. I'm still waiting. I have gotten one customer experience person finally but they refuse to give me any phone numbers for a sales rep or any executive. Talk about bait and switch. No support and no service. Not what they used to be. I wonder if the owners know of this dismal level they have shrunk to. We have had to cancel our payroll and have asked for a refudn of the unauthorized change in service and double billing.

Worst customer service ever. No follow-up from the company EVER. Delayed timelines and plenty of "I don't know" given out as responses.

Submitting a support ticket gets you nowhere. I submitted a tax case on 9/27/23- still haven't heard anything back. In fact the only time I receive any update on tax notices is when I reach out to them. The first time I reached out I was told "24-48 hours" A week later and still nothing. This is quite often the case with paycor whenever reaching out for support.

reps via chat say whatever to move on to the next person. Or they say "I'll send a message to so and so to reach back out to you" only that NEVER happens.

This is a paycor issue. As a client when I log into "Give product feedback & share ideas" I can see multiple clients expressing their issues regarding the same thing! The comments are full of defeated clients saying things like " Good Luck. I've been waiting since September to no avail. They 'look' at the case and close it. I'm on my third case, same issue" That is an actual comment from a paycor client. As previously stated if you got through their feedback section there are numerous comments saying the same thing. Paycor just refuses to address it. If you want somewhere with good customer service, or a place where follow up will be done, Paycor isn't it.

Pacor Inc. has consistently failed to provide accurate accounting information essential for processing our W-2 forms for the year 2023 (limited to the first quarter due to service termination resulting from numerous errors). Despite our requests over an eight-month period, they have either declined or been unable to furnish the necessary reports. This issue originated from their initial misconfiguration of our company, and they have yet to rectify these errors according to their records.

We have simply requested the information outlined below or for them to furnish our company with the official W-2 form for each employee, including details for the first quarter of 2023.

We require the labor distribution report to list each employee under one department, displaying the correct "total" amount. The Paycor onboarding team set up the employees/departments incorrectly. We need a payroll Year-to-Date (YTD) report as of 3/31/23 with one row for each employee, indicating the gross to net breakdown.

The CMD worksheet indicates deposits made, but the following discrepancies exist:

      A) The Fed and State deposits lack a deposit date.
      B) The State withholding amount mirrors the wage amount. Please provide the accurate withholding deposited amount.

Resolving this matter is a straightforward task. We will consider the issue resolved once our company receives either the W-2 2023 for each employee or accurate reports containing the necessary information to promptly prepare the W-2 2023 for each employee.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/28/2023

Thank you for your interest in having Paycor provide your 2023 W2s. While reviewing your loss record entry, you advised that you went to ADP for the remainder of 2023. If they are producing W2s a well for 2023 under the same FEIN, they will need to make any corrections to the data and prepare the W2s.

If ADP is not processing under the same FEIN for 2023, we can prepare a quote for w2s but you will be responsible to file any YE returns for 2023. The W2s would be filed with the SSA in January if the forms are completed prior to 12/31/2023.

If you need this information, please respond to the email thread our team send on 11/17 confirming that you have confirmed with ADP that they are not processing your W2 under the same FEIN and we will get you the quote.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your awareness, Paycor Inc. has failed to take responsibility for addressing the ongoing issue. In response to our concerns, Paycor suggested that our new payroll company handle the W2 preparation. However, they have been unresponsive to our requests, leading to our new company's inability to accurately prepare the W2 due to Paycor withholding our company's records. Furthermore, access to our portal has been denied, impeding our ability to retrieve essential information and reports for our new payroll provider. This withholding of payroll records is considered unethical, particularly given that we have terminated our services with Paycor. It is likely that they are refusing to provide us with our records due to numerous errors made during the setup process that they are unable to rectify.

I contacted Paycor at 11am on 10/17/2023, seeking to simply change the bank account information for my business. This must be done through client services, there is no way to do it through the website. I quickly received an email with an ACH change form attached. I completed and returned the form within 5 minutes. I called client services at 130pm to confirm it had been taken care of, as I needed to submit my payroll by 3pm. No one was able to provide me with any substantial info, other than to apologize that the info had not been updated and to notify me that the process takes 4 business hours. At 250pm, I called again. No update. The rep actually gave me a speech about how next time, I need to allot more time for updates. I called several more times over the next couple of hours. Nothing helpful at all from client services was forthcoming, only empty apologies and assurances of understanding my frustration. My employees are a day behind on getting paid at this point. Finally, at 545pm, I receive an email requesting a voided check from the new account I want to switch to, along with a reminder that the update will take 4 business hours to complete. I sent the voided check within 10 minutes. I called to confirm it had been received. It had. I was told the update wouldn't be completed until the following day. This morning (the following day) I received an email at 1130am REQUESTING A VOIDED CHECK, accompanied by a reminder that the update process WILL TAKE 4 HOURS TO COMPLETE ONCE THEY RECEIVE ALL DOCUMENTS!! I have called customer service. There is no supervisor I can speak with (Someone will call me within 24 hours). I cannot speak with anyone from the department that updates my information (they only communicate by email). Worst customer server ever. My business is small, so I suppose we matter little to Paycor. As a bonus, our billable charges have doubled since May 2023, no explanation given. Absolutely unacceptable.

Our small business has been with Paycor for years. Initially, we were satisfied with their product at the price we were paying, even though support is practically non-existent. It wasn't long after we migrated to Paycor that issues started popping up. We were often charged for miscellaneous fees due to settings we weren't even aware of. Then came the first pay increase. They provided less than a months notice, which is nowhere enough time to research alternative companies properly, let alone the migration process. As a company, we took the hit because it's such a hassle to change providers. Since then, their software has done nothing but degrade. Their new report builder is the worst thing I've ever seen. I can build a better reporting function in a day. Everything about their application is terrible, yet they are a software company. Go figure. In any case, we can barely use their application and despite many support requests for assistance no answers or solutions have ever been offered. Now, we find out about another price increase, and this time our monthly price DOUBLED. It's insane! Now we're paying 3x more than our initial agreement, barely able to use the software at all, and receive no support. I think their business practices are incredibly unethical. They know how difficult and time-consuming it is to move to another payroll provider and they continue to raise rates because they can.

Note: Although not specified in their response, I received an email from Paycor with a revised bill stating that they made a mistake. There is still a price increase, but it's nominal by comparison to the first bill I received. Assuming this is truly the case, and my monthly price is what is shown on the 'corrected' invoice, then I am okay with closing the dispute.
