I do not recommend this bank for business purposes. somehow my debit card # got compromised and they spent money out of my account which put the account overdrafted so I deposited two checks to cover the overdraft and ensure there was enough for payroll before Friday. they put a 5 day hold on them and was not able to make payroll on Friday spent all day on the phone Friday ran to four different branches because none of them had a branch manager on duty that day trying to get one of them released. they simply said they think they are fraudulent checks. keep in mind two years of depositing checks with not one customer check bouncing. after this on Friday I put cash in my personal account to cover payroll I wrote a check and it bounced even know I just put cash in the account to cover it. do long story short I don't recommend this bank.

Sadly this has to be the worst commercial bank in Ohio! I have had an account with them for more than 10 years for work related purposes. The healthcare company I work for has 130+ accounts with them. Today was the ultimate confirmation that they are the worst bank, as I often have to cash Key Bank Issued checks from our company accounts for our customers and today I was denied doing so without pay a $7 fee, since they decided to close my account for no activity. Which is ironic, as I cash company checks at various Key bank locations throughout Ohio every month, so how does my account not have activity? If I need to have an account to cash a check? Mind you the check I'm cashing is from their bank where the company I work for holds their money. This should never be an issue to withdraw your own funds! This is certainly NOT good business to deny cashing a check from our company account because the person cashing it doesn't have an account! 100% absurd! Why anyone and why my company would keep their accounts with them is beyond me!

I don’t know if KeyBank really care about this complaint or former customers like me but why KeyBank dropped me as a customer without any valid reason? KeyBank gladly gave me a mortgage loan which they gladly took it out my now closed checking out. I know for sure that no one in my family will ever bank with KeyBank again. KeyBank really needs to reconfigure their algorithm and improve their customer services, talking to your customer service representatives is like a deer in a headlights.

On October 25th, I opened a business account ending in 4337 at the New Rochelle, NY branch. I wanted an interest-bearing account. The Manager assured me that it would earn a 4.5% interest, but I later discovered that it was a checking account and does not generate interest. I have a voicemail from the manager stating that this happened due to a bank system error. I am not sure if that was the true reason. It saddens me that a bank would resort to deception to sell an account. Promising something and not delivering on it can be considered fraud and does not align with customer rights, according to the Federal Trade Commission. In addition to this big mistake, instead to resolve this issue, they decide to freeze my account, without previous notification.
The branch in New Rochelle, directed me to the Branch in Tarrytown, which I also did, without good result. ALL documents requested were provided more than once, but nobody has been able to say what's exactly going on, or how to resolve this issue. As for me, this is a serious matter, since this is over a month, now. Key Bank must be more responsible and effectively demonstrate that that they take care of their clients, independently their ethnic background.

Thieves. You're really going to keep my $7k+ for 7 days? Who does that. Thieves, that who. Next time somebody deposits a check, please let them know you will be holding it hostage for 1 week so they don't use that money. Especially right before Thanksgiving. OMG all your reviews are negative.....how are you all still in business?

My atm limit was lowered from $700 to $300 with out any notice. I could not get the money out of my account that I needed. I contacted customer service through their app. After 30 minutes of trying to explain this to the customer rep, he had no answers and transferred me to an expert. After 20 more minutes, he admitted there was a glitch in their system and immediately terminated my session. I started another session with a different customer service rep who did not listen and refused to reset my limit back to the original $700. As this was their fault as evidenced by my conversation with their customer service rep, you would think they would make this right. I then fill out a customer satisfaction survey. Several weeks later, Ashley T, a customer service rep sent a generic email stating what my atm limit was and it is still not back to my original limit. At this point I don’t know what else to do as key bank has refused to rectify their own mistake. I question the legality of this company at this point as they clearly can do whatever they want and refuse to listen to the customers. Mistakes happen, I get that, but why wont they fix their own mistake?

On 8/09/2023 I received a promotion email from Key bank that said if I open a saving account and put $5,000 in the saving account and keep the balance for 60 days I will receive a reward of $200. On 08/10/2023 I opened a Key’s saving account and transfer $5,000 to the new saving account from my checking account, on 10/10/2003 after two months I don’t see the reward of $200 to my saving account, I stop by a Key branch in King city, which is my banking for 10 years, I showed them the email with the promotion code from my mobile phone, after a few moment talking with the HQ, the teller tell me the email is a fake and they refused to pay the reward, I tell the teller that I click on the Open Account link in the email and it direct me to my Key checking account where I open the saving account so this is not a fake promotion email, so I withdraw all $5,003 ($3 interest for two months) and close the saving account.

Just like many other people, I had a horrific experience with these scammers. The scenario was exactly the same, I opened a savings account and once I transferred money into it, it immediately got locked and no explanation was given. After a few days of no resolution and no access to my funds, I demanded to close my account and to refund my funds to the original bank. After a couple of weeks, I got my money back and a letter in the mail threatening to report negative information to the consumer reporting agency. These thieves reported identity fraud! Did they think I stole my own identity? They are delusional and malicious. If they suspected that my identity was stolen, why on Earth they never even tried to ask me for a proof? With hundreds of similar stories that I found later online, it seems that this is what this so called bank does - steals people's money, uses it for weeks or even months at a time, and if you dare to question then, damage your consumer report. I wish there was a class action suit against these scammers!

I honestly would give this bank zero stars if possible!!! Banking w/Laurel Road has been one of the worst decisions and financial institution experience in my whole life! I opened a loyalty checking account w/them because they advertised a high APR. I added an external bank account a few days later after being approved for an account only to find out that my account has been restricted because of "suspicious activity" related to the external account. As of this writing, it has been 10+ business days and I still do NOT know what's going on with my account even after numerous phone calls. I have even sent them several bank statements, IRS form, and an official account ownership letter from the external account and it's taking this long to review?!? The reps I've spoken with are always willing to help you file a complaint when calling over the phone but the fraud department that's doing the review is unavailable to be reached so what's the point?!? I would've appreciated it if they would've contacted me first regarding the external account before they restricted my account completely but they didn't!!! This bank is just a nightmare to deal with. I only wish I knew about these ratings prior to signing up for an account with them. I just don't understand why it takes this long for them to review my account and verify that I do own the external account especially after all the documentation I've have sent them!!! If you value your money and your sanity, DO NOT BANK WITH LAUREL ROAD!!!
