This bank does not care about its Customers... I had a problem with **** the bank thought it was a scam so did II was waiting to try to get a hold of **** which is impossible in the meantime a charge was put on my account by **** which I was trying to dispute and the bank was too... I was worried about not paying it on time so I called and asked how long I had to pay it hoping I would get through the ****... I was told I had until Saturday well I went in on Thursday to pay it and they had already written it off and caused a collection company too call me and write me a nasty letter I tried to get them to listen to the recording where they're employee told me I had till Saturday and they never got back to me and that has been over 3 weeks... All I wanted them to do was notify the collection people that they had made a mistake and that I had paid the amount and in a timely manner... These people are scum they don't care they get by with whatever they can knowing we can't hire lawyers because we just don't have The resources... I even wrote corporate about this and they didn't have the decency to email me back either Don't use this bank and don't use ***** ***** ***** ****** ***** is a better choice

This is one of the worst banks for customer service. Many banks no longer put customers first any more but this one has to be the WORST of any institution or there. I was living in AZ. I had direct deposit coming in to the keybank in Eugene, OR. I didn't change my bank in AZ even though there wasn't any banks in Phoenix. I was typically very good at keeping my anoint above negative. I didn't realize they take out ATM fees nearing the end of the month. First they collectively, took 33.00, a regional ATM fee. Then, they took another 9.00 for a regional ATM inquiry fee. First, what is an inquiry regional fee assessed for? I called and explained I was living in AZ and couldn't get into a bank and cover. I also transferred 14.00 from my savings. The lady on the phone understood and refunded the 9.00 got the inquiry fee? And then only 6.00 of the ATM fees. My account had a 3.00 negative status for 18 days until I called and asked about the fees. And then the refunds brought my account back into the positive. I had to wait for my auto deposit on the third. Since, I have moved back to Oregon. All that happened in June, 2023. It's September, 2023. I still have the account but everyone I deposit a check they hold it for a week, as if I'm a child and they are punishing me. Not only can I not use my hard earned money but I have to use credit cards, choosing me more money. And or cash the checks at the bank they were issued from. Costing me 8.00, more money. I explained, the situation but the manager refuses to see the situation correctly and does nothing to stop the continual holds on my checks.
This was due to one small overdraft lapse in the history of this account. This is only one of the MANY negative interactions with this bank and its employees. The manager at the Coburg road Keybank branch has no comprehension of the customers she works for. She completely blamed me and wouldn't evaluate the scenario in any positive way. I was truly shocked!

I signed up for an account online and it was immediately flagged for fraud but they accepted my $10 opening deposit. Since then the account has been closed but I have spent 4+ hours on the phone with them trying to receive my $10 back which they will not release. Absolutely the WORST customer service out of any bank that I have ever had in my life. Stay away from them!!!

Let bank is absolutely horrible. I went negative 11$ for a payment I forgot about. I expected an overdraft fee because most banks think charging someone 20-35$ they don’t have is a smart idea. Not only did they charge me 20$ for an overdraft fee they charged me 44$ for a service fee, because I went over 11$!!!! How absolutely and completely ridiculous! Now I’m negative 4 cents they’ll probably charge me 100$. KeyBank is absolutely horrible, go through capital one or an online banking system. Local banks are being phased out because of their ridiculous overdraft fees.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the WORST banking experience I have ever had. They are stealing people's money. I opened an account with them and immediately had my account become restricted and they keep wanting more information from me in order to get into it. I have been on countless phone calls and the only response I get is "your account is under investigation by the higher up people". What does that even mean? I proved that is was coming from my account and they will still not give me MY money. It is a criminal bank.

Went to local branch. My mother opened an account so she could access her retirement money being they are local. Christina, the manager misspelled her name with her drivers license and social security card right in front of her. Then she never submitted the copies of the photo copied documents that were required. Now there is a hold on her account. Customer service and the branch on Shiloh street are too stupid to resolve the issue. Never open an account here. You won’t be able to access your money and the manager is a complete incompetent idiot that can’t even look at a name on a social security card or drivers license and enter the ban correctly.

As a senior, I've dealt with many banks and financial institutions, and KeyBank is clearly the most unprofessional and inept I have had the misfortune to know. Prior to closing all my accounts due to almost zero interest(0.03%), I was called a "Preferred" customer. Here are some examples of how a "preferred" customer is treated: When closing a matured CD at the beginning of the grace period, I asked to have the funds wired to another institution, but was told KeyBank's policy would not allow it. After almost 60 days waiting for my lost check that KeyBank had put into the mail without even a tracking number, they reversed their policy and wired my money. When meeting with KeyBank's manager to inquire about the check they lost, I was told my funds were no longer mine, nor KeyBank's? Then why was I required to file a stop payment on the lost check. KeyBank's corporate Executive Client Services failed to provide any compensation for the substantial interest lost due to their "policy". In fact, they failed to return promised phone calls, and to provide an explanation of their actions. Finally, KeyBank had the gall to charge me an early withdrawal penalty because they failed to close out the CD while I was in their office, and it automatically renewed because of their ineptitude. There's more, but you should get the drift of how this bank treats their customers.
