Worst mortgage company ever! Do not use this company. We did, we were lied to and and forced to buy points and give them thousands of dollars and wouldn't hear from CCM for over a month and half as our loan officer had no idea how to do a VA construction loan and was trying to learn. We had to pay outrageous monthly payments due to CCM not getting things done and interest rates and construction rates going thru the roof. Paid our 7 months of payments and refinanced this mortgage with NFCU and had to force CCM to give us our escrow balance after 4 weeks. They were collecting the interest money on it and didn't want to give it to us.
      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

This company has pretty much tried to force me out of my house, they will not work with you or even reply, I would not or EVER recommend, and I'd like to know how to file a direct complaint against them. they are just a horrible company. If anyone wants to see the hell they have been putting me thru for the past 6 months, I will gladly forward the entire history of the absolute mess they made of my life...
---- NEGATIVE stars, don't even use as an option.

I would give zero stars if I could... Everyone who works is shady basically to the point where it is a scam. I am in Elyria, OH and this is possible the worst company I have ever done business with. Stay away from them at all costs!

I will never use CrossCountry Motgage ever again. I had the most awful experience with a loan officer at this company. He was no help at all. I would not answer his business phone and he would not return my calls. He finally called after my realtor called him and told him to call me. When he called me he yelled at me over the phone “you need to help yourself, I can’t help you!” Then cursed at my son who interrupted when he heard this man talking to me this way. I could not believe that this person works with the public. Never will I recommend this company to anyone. Just an Awful experience overall.

I'm a disabled woman who only gets ssdi each month to live on. I asked to refinance w/cash-out for debt consolidation. When they called back, Mat started telling me I'd be worse off if I refinanced with them. When I asked why the mortgage payment he quoted me was so much higher than other places I talked to and what refinance amount he was referring to, he responded with an amount of $30k MORE than what I asked for!! I told him, that is NOT what I asked for. He started telling me some line about 80% equity. I stopped him and said, "UP TO...80%!" I abruptly told him that I didn't need their "help"! What a waste of time!! Very dishonest! I feel that I would have been possibly taken advantage of if I didn't know enough to stop it before it went further.

I am a disabled Veteran who is now living in his truck as of 18 OCT 24 because of the mishandling of making appointments by Cross Country Mortgage and who was given two dates to close on.
The first date that cross country mortgage told me was going to close was 8 OCT 24.
What do you naturally do when about to close on a house? That’s right, pack up and get ready to leave. Too bad Nick Phillips VP of Mortgage Banking, didn’t notify me until the 7th that I wasn’t going to close.
All of this was blamed on the appraiser, who was hired a month after my loan was acccepted, in the very beginning of September.
They will tell you they can do it in under 30 days and then will give you every excuse to not meet their timeline and not take any ownership of their own failures.
Let’s pray they can take their heads out of their fourth point of contact and not mess around with anyone else’s lives for being a horrible servicing company.

Absolutely Horrible company to work with. My experience started with Charles G. From the beginning Charles had trouble with clear and open communication. Charles was advised from the beginning of the process we were looking for a home equity loan as our home is paid off, Charles did a FHA Loan. We were never advised of this till we were going over the paperwork and seen it. Charles stated that was the only way for the loan. so we continued. Charles has stopped all communication for weeks at a time during this process. After countless phone calls and expressing our concern of lack of communication, I asked to speak with the manager Joe. Joes words were Sometimes when a loan officer sets expectations that cant be reached they tend to stop communication. To me that is an excuse and lack of accountability. I have dealt with them for almost 6 months trying to get a loan. Every time we go to sign they add more stipulations that needed to be completed. Not once did Charles Clearly explain what exactly is needed to complete this transaction. Joe did add some more stipulations right before we backed out and explained them at that time. I am out of money and time dealing with them. Save yourself the hassle and find another company

I am in Sarasota, we were directly impacted by hurricane Milton. I called for disaster assistance, the options they had were one and that was to take the "90 day window" for Novembers payment. This just makes December and Januarys payment higher as you have to complete the payment within that time frame, other than that you can apply for forbearance. The only way to do this is to allow your account to go 90 days late and then apply hoping for approval, after your credit is demolished. She then directed me to a homeowners assistance program with the state that STOPPED TAKING APPLICATIONS during the pandemic over 3 YEARS AGO. So, the only way to get help even with being proactive, is to allow your credit to get destroyed. They shouldn't have an assistance department or even option when they really don't have assistance, if we can't pay Novembers mortgage, how on earth could we pay 1.5 mortgage payments the following 2 months? Hard working homeowners facing natural disasters is bad enough having the fear of losing everything but then having to maintain after losing thousands to evacuating and replacing lost food, fuel, etc. is just a larger hardship. Just don't advertise that you help if you in fact, DO NOT!

I'm filing a complaint of attempted mortgage fraud. Garrett ***** and Jonathan ******** of Cross Country Mortgage failed to submit our file to underwriting for weeks. Due to them failing to do their job, they proceeded to hide their mistake and tried to convince us to commit mortgage fraud. This occurred on 9/23/2024. They informed me that the only way to close was if I had a friend that was willing to sign a 12-month "lease" for my current home and send me first months rent ($2,400) to deposit in my bank account. I was then told I could return the money the following day and shred the lease agreement. This was only to satisfy the underwriters with my finances. Closing was scheduled for 3/27/2024. During the preapproval process, we verified that we were approved without any contingencies on our current home. We were told due to our finances, we didn't need to sell or rent the home in order to purchase our new home. However, Garrett insisted that our financial situation had changed (it hadn't) and that's why we needed to rent the home, which was currently on the market for sale. After informing Garrett and Jonathan that I was not going to commit fraud, my realtor's boss (Kirk Short) and another mortgage lender Mike Gonzales to make sense as to what really went wrong. On 9/25/2024 it was found that our file was never submitted to underwriting and Garrett and Jonathan were trying to cover it up by saying that my "financial situation changed". As an active duty military member, my family and I were ordered to move over 600 miles away on 10/01/2024. Due to Garrett and Jonathan's incompetency and neglect to federal law, we were not only put in a major financial hardship, we had no place to live while traveling with our entire life's belonging. Garrett nor Jonathan have any business holding a NMLS license. My family is still recovering from the mental health issues these two individuals caused.
