My car was repossessed by relentless recovery on February 2nd. I contacted my loan company who offered me a pay off amount. I paid for my car and went to pick it up today February 23rd. From the beginning there was an issue. At first they could not locate my license plate. As of this complaint they still can not locate it. During the drive home the car was making loud whistling and squeaking noises. It would shake and like wobble over certain miles. Once home my husband realized the suspension was messed up and it looks like both tire rods are bent. Due to the tow drivers lack of knowledge and correct hookup techniques my car is now damaged and unsafe to drive. I would like for them to pay for a repair as soon as possible and pay to replace both of my license plates. I would like this matter handled within the next 7 days. I would like it handled with better care and skill than the original tow job and lack of organization when handling my license plates.Business Response

My car was taken to Relentless Recovery onJan 15 or the 16th 2023. I live in a condo that has a parking garage with a gate they broke through the gate to get the car. I sell medical equipment and i had many things in the car for work and that was all returned. What i am missing is a pair of ****** sunglasses, North face gloves and hat. A 150 power drill, phillips screwdrivers. box cutters, apple iphone charge cord, grey hoodie, my plates and all the paperwork that was in my glove compartment. The we took photos does not work with me because the personal belongings could have been taken before the photos. I am disgusted that these people not only broke through the gate of where i live but took all of my personal belongings. I hope that this gets resolved because there is hundreds and hundreds of dollars of items missing.Business Response

On Wednesday February 1, 2023 my car was repossessed by *********** formally known as drivetime for non payment. When my car was towed it was taken by a company called relentless recovery. I had to make an appointment to be able to get my belonging out of my car and the earliest appointment was for Friday February 10 at 11am. When I arrived to get my belonging my husband and myself are both missing out driver's license and I am also missing my ebt Ohio direction card. When I expressed this to the lady at the desk she told me there was nothing she could do and I would have to go onto there website to make a complaint. She couldn't give me a supervisor or managers information. The phone number for there company goes nowhere and when I went online to make my complaint i don't think it even asked me for my contact information so I'm not sure how anyone will contact me about my missing property. Everyone at the business didn't have any answers for me and just blew me off and I'm very very upset.Business Response

More importantly, Relentless takes photographs of how the property is found inside the car prior to inventory and cleanout. No drivers license or EBT card are present in the location the customer described. Relentless does not open nor inventory closed containers or boxes, etc. Relentless did not take nor loose this customer's drivers license or EBT card. See attached pictures.

I went to recover my belongings on 2/8/2023 and when i finally was able to go thru my belongings i noticed a bit of stuff was missing. I can't say everything for sure but i know there was more than what was in there missing. For a fact i know that someone stole my 10" winchester bowie knife that was under the driver seat is missing. As well as some tools since my tool bag was closed when it was in the vehicle and was left opened after they went thru it. Some documents are gone. Amongst other things and this was after i had a conversation with one of the workers and i asked if he fished and actually gave him a full tackle box of fishing gear. I will be contacting the attorney general of ohio as well as this is blatant theft.Business Response

Relentless repossessed this customer's 2019 Ford Fiesta on January 19, 2023. The customer redeemed his personal property from Relentless on February 8, 2023. On that same date, the customer filed a direct complaint with Relentless at 4:43pm stating he was missing his 10" Bowie Knife and some makeup and threatened to call the Akron or Tallmadge Police. At 5:43pm on February 8, 2023, Relentless responded back to the customer and inquired "Where inside the vehicle would the bowie knife have been stored/located? The makeup's storage location as well?"
The customer responded back at 5:46pm that the 10" Bowie knife was located under the driver's seat. He never responded to the question of where the makeup would have been located. Thereafter, Relentless received this BBB complaint filed by the customer. An email was sent to the Akron lot staff to check the unit in the morning for the 10" bowie knife under the driver's seat. The unit is still being stored on our Akron lot. This morning, the Akron lot staff responded that the 10" Bowie knife was found under the seat per the customers directions.
No makeup was found in the car. No makeup was inventoried in the car at the time of clean out. The customer may come to the Akron lot, M-F from 10:00am to 3:30pm to pick up his knife without an appointment.

****,
Your information was provided by the employees at Rentless Recovery. Located at 1898 Scranton Road Cleveland Ohio 44113.
My car was towed by this business on 01/10/2023 and held at the location until 01/11/2023. The car is a 2013 ****** ****** ******i.
While I paid the outstanding balance on my car within the hour after being removed from my home In spite of multiple calls I was unable to retrieve my car and was told it was being held up by Rentless Recovery who had not provided the pictures and documents for release.
That hold which was out of my control caused me to incur an additional $125.00 in fees for storage. I was available, willing and repeatedly called and asked to pick up my car but to no avail. I incurred those extra fees from the delay on your end. Not mine. That was unnecessary.
When I arrived at the appointed time to retrieve my car I was shocked to find the front bumper hanging and cracked. A leak coming from the engine and rolling onto the ground while still on your premises. These were not issues prior to the tow.
When pulling a car from the back the front end goes down. Your staff confirmed that the damage can (and clearly was) occur when the car is removed by pulling in that manner.
A police report was filed prior to leaving your location.
An appointment has been made for 01/17/2023 to get an estimate for the repairs. My car is now parked and unable to be driven, not knowing what it causing the leak or what damage was done in the manner which the car was treated when towed by the driver. I will need to rent a car while the repairs are made causing me further out of pocket expenses.
What is the process on your end to have this matter resolved? I was told you are quick in response and resolution.
Thank you,
******* ******Business Response

Relentless Recovery repossessed customer's car on January 1, 2023. The customer redeemed her car the very next day on January 11, 2023. Relentless cannot schedule a vehicle redemption appointment until a release is received from the customer's lien holder. In this instance, Relentless did not receive the release from the customer's lien holder until January 11, 2023. The customer was then scheduled and she redeemed that day. Customer was charged for two days of storage at $25 a day and a $75 redemption fee for a total of $125.00.
Relentless had no keys for this car and did not operate it until the customer arrived with her own keys. The vehicle had pre-existing damage to the bumper as a wood screw was put in to hold the bumper in place. I have attached pics of taken by Relentless management at the time of redemption. The vehicle was also leaking some type of fluid but it was not damaged by the repossession. The Relentless mechanic looked at the vehicle leak and ran the vehicle for 15 mins and no fluid was coming out. Moreover, the customer is being disingenuous as she knows the bumper had pre-existing damage and that a wood screw had been used to keep the bumper in place. Given this attempt at fraud, the leak allegation falls right in line with prior deceitfulness. Relentless will not pay for damage it did not cause and is not responsible to repair.

Relentless Recovery Inc. was retained by ** ********* to recover a 2019 ********* **** *** on 01.09.2023. The driver that was sent out to the property location to VIN the vehicle damaged the lawn/grass area next to the driveway leaving a rut. I contacted the company today, 01.12.2023 and was told they did not have a record of any recovery order for that vehicle and the complaint I filed on their website was being deleted. When I spoke with a representative at GM Financial, they specifically stated that Relentless Recovery of Ohio was the company retained and also provided their phone number which matches the number listed here and on their website under the schedule an appointment tab.Business Response

On January 12, 2023, the complainant, ***** ****, by complaint, provided Relentless Recovery with vehicle information and the last six numbers of a vin for an account he was not listed on. Relentless cannot provide any information to third-parties not listed on an account.
Now it is appears ***** **** is a third party claiming damage to his yard caused by our Company. However, he has not provided any photos of the yard rut nor any video he states he possesses. This is required to review the complaint to determine if Relentless did in fact cause a rut. Without additional evidence, this claim cannot proceed further. If the evidence is submitted and Relentless determines our driver caused a rut, we can address it. Be advised no yard rut can be repaired until the spring.

Relentless repossessed customer's 2016 Dodge Challenger on November 25, 2022. The unit's contents were inventoried and photographed. The customer redeemed his vehicle and property on November 28, 2022. Two days later on November 30tj, the customer filed a direct complaint with Relentless Recovery Inc., stating he was missing Tom Ford sunglasses, a torch lighter, change and a case of brown glasses gold. At the time of redemption, the customer never stated he was missing any property.
All property contained inside the unit was returned to the customer on November 28, 2022, including his vehicle. Relentless does not remove or clean out any garbage or non-identifying paperwork from vehicles. These items are left inside the units and is most likely what the customer found on his passenger seat. I have attached photographs of sunglasses taken by our staff and other property located inside the unit.
