4/17 I withdrew $2500 Huntington @ **** * **** **.
Denied because my issued ID date on my DL's doesn't match the issue date on my acct., - $2500 was withdrawn on the app. Called CORP, going to another branch. It was proven, no money was given. I was there for approx 1.5 hr refusing to leave or disconnect with CORP.
5/15 same branch, withdrew $1000, the teller needed mgmt, Vicki, to get money out the vault. Vicki viewed my acct., questioning who is my direct dep. & employer and the amt in my account, advising once I am stable to contact her. I was fuming.
Approx. 5/08 I dep. a check in the ATM.
Next morning account had -17K bal.
05/09 contacting Huntington, The rep 1st asked me what happen.
the bal then fluctuated from -$20K, to 628K, back to -$700.00
After investigation I was advised a hold placed on the dept check, it looked as the check dep. twice, & an endorsement form needs completion; but to endorse the check, I needed an image of the check.
At this point I am fuming, thankfully I had the printed image on the deposit rcpt.
Asking for a copy of all documents given for the endorsement, my faith is leaving from Huntington. The next teller said its on camera, I said cameras obviously mean nothing because you have them on the atm as well as the image in your system; I advised this is very stressful yall will make someone lose their damn mind and left.
5/11/23 the check was dep.
5/16 I withdrew my entire bal., wanting to cancel the acct.
5/22 I transfered $5K from Huntington electronically to my Capital One acct w/ transfer date of 6/2.
But on 6/1 Cap One alerts ADVD transfer canc., huntington app. stated no acct. and closed itself.
I contacted CS, rep states bal remaining comes by mail in 30 days, I REQ a mngr who sent stop req, will get c/b for me to approv. stop pay request.
05/26 A Trespass Notice from Huntington Branch was created causing me to not get statements.
As of 07/27/23 no check, or resolution has come

Set up bank account, deposited money, went to set up text alerts and staff entered social security number wrong. Was told need to verify social security number even though there isn’t a branch close to us. Refuses to release money regardless and expects us to go into the bank. I open money market Account that the told me the interest-rate 4.07 . After 2 days I found my account has interest rate 0.50 I called the banker and she promised to fix it after two weeks I stop by the bank and I was not fixed I ask to speak with the bank manager, the manager wasn’t care and was very rude, they are dishonestBusiness Response

This is the 2nd BBB complaint I have filed against The Huntington National Bank.
Since the 2nd week in May 2023, trying to get information between the Grove City, PA Huntington Branch office and the corporate office has been a bunch of finger pointing [you have to call corporate office, oh no, call the Branch Office only to get nowhere.] in order to first get information on how to close a death beneficiaries for the IRA --
What was suppose to take 7-10 business days to find out if there are beneficaries for the attorney turned into a 6 week fiasco and only because of constant calling both offices to get an answer and then when we said we wanted to close the IRA account has become a gaslighting event because supposedly there is a form that can to be mailed but no one can seem to put a form in the mail or we have been told a form was mailed out on May 31, 2023 BUT funny I have not received such form.
Corporate told me that maybe I should check with the Post Office because maybe we weren't getting our mail. I replied with we get the bank statements from Huntington but nothing from the IRA department of Huntington. Ohh was the reply.
After much prodding, the Grove City Branch first said all the beneficiaries must come into the Branch at one time in order to close under a $3,000 IRA. I said that's impossible because the 2/3 of the beneficiaries live different states other than Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Well...I have to talk with Corporate to see how to handle. Grove City Branch said corporate voice mail was full. More telephone calls to both corporate and Grove City Branches.
Are you telling me that NO other Huntington Bank IRA has beneficiaries that live outside of Ohio and Pennsylvania, and we are the very first?? Is there not a Huntington IRA manual that ALL Huntington employees have access to look up the information and what forms are needed on how to handle?? What an embarrassment for Huntington Bank.
We are telling all our friends and relatives to pull all investments from Huntington BECAUSE NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO ENDURE THE MENTAL STRESS HUNTINGTON IS PUTTING US THROUGH TO CLOSE AN UNDER $3,000 IRA ACCOUNT.

Finally received a call from Huntington [I would have thought it wouldn't have taken almost a week though to receive the call and 2 BBB complaints] and received the paperwork needed. There needs to be a policy in place when a customer is looking for an answer not to finger point between corporate and branch offices and say not my issue, call the other.

I signed up for a Huntington checking and money market account. I met all requirements for a 600.00 bonus and only received 400.00 for checking and not 200.00 for money market account.
I have contacted customer 3 times and have been assured this will added to my account and never has. I am very unhappy and have spent way too much time transferring all my new money and deposits to Huntington just to be lied to.Business Response

On 4-17-2023 I opened a money market account at Huntington with an advertised rate of 5.12% for 12 months. The promotion material was mailed to my home (**** ********* *** *****) by Huntington. The offer required a minimum deposit of $50000. I opened the account at my local branch (7783 Five Mile Rd.,45230) with $80000. I had done business with this branch and like the employees. When I got my third statement on 6-26-2023, I discovered that they had only been paying me 4.07%. By then, after several additional deposits the balance was over $240000 and they never paid the offered rate of interest. I contacted the branch and was assured that they would correct the error. The employees and Manager have been trying to get the problem corrected but after asking for help at my local library, I was told that Huntington had a bad reputation for customer service and correcting their errors. I still trust service at the local branch, but it seems that the corporate level is against correcting their mistakes. I have all paperwork from opening the account with the promotional code, dates of offer and deposits, and interest rates for account balances. Since I'm a 71 year old retiree, I feel that they are trying to scam me by not honoring the interest rate that they offered.Business Response

I opened a bank account with this bank at the end of June of this year. I deposited a total of $450 into the bank, which was successful from another account. I also had my paycheck of $1535 sent to my account with Huntington Bank on July 7th. In which, I was not notified until after that transaction that they closed my bank account without notice. As of today, July 19th, I have not seen my money from this bank which would be a total of $1985, Every time I call, I get told something different everyday. I was informed on July 16th VIA the phone, that they had issued me a check on the 12th of this month. That I will be seeing it in the next few days. When I called today, July 19th, they are now saying they never issued me a check and that all the money has to be verified of ownership before sending me my money. When I asked why I was, once again, told something else and not being told the truth. I was informed to take it up with management. When I asked to speak with management I was hung up on.
I have also gone down to the Forest Lake, MN bank and was told they could not help me after being told they could issue my money. That was 2 weeks ago. No one can give me an answer as to why I am not getting my money and why this is going on.
All I want is my money sent to me so I can pay bills. It is not that hard to issue someone's money. $1985 is a lot of money for a single mom and it needs to sent ASAP!Business Response

My bank account has been compromised. I went to my local bank and went through all the transactions on my account . The bank manager filed a dispute for all of the unauthorized transactions. It has been almost 2 weeks since I filed the disputes in the branch. I keep getting promised a credit to my account by managers and customer service agents. They closed my dispute once and it was reopened again by a manager. They are claiming I received alerts to my phone and authorized these transactions which I did not. My bank manager just activated my text alerts after these disputes were filed. I have a time stamp of when she did this. I keep getting the run around from everyone and nothing is getting resolved. This has affected my family drastically. Customer service and managers when calling customer service have admitted this is fraud and that I should be credited back the money that was taken. All I want is what is right and my money back. I do not have a cash app in my personal name and that's what they are claiming is that a cash app in my name processed these transactions.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: They have not contacted me directly. I keep getting told that within 48 hours a credit will be applied to my account when. I call them. I am told by all the representative I speak to that this is fraud and they don't understand why it is not resolved. I want my money returned to me . I do. It have a cash app in my personal name and I have not lost a cash app card. I did not receive text alerts making me aware of this . The bank enabled alerts on July 13th at 12:07 pm . Prior to this no alerts came to my phone.

Huntington bank has been holding my direct deposit since July 5. I have been calling and going into the branch and they keep telling me it was sent. They held my check for “review” and would not tell me why. Now they’re saying I’ll have it by July 21. They had no legal reason to hold my check. There was no activity on this account.
