      I deposited a check into my savings account on December 17th. On December 19th I was told that the check and my account have both been put on hold to see if to see if the issuing bank is going to pay for the check which I deposited into my account. Huntington Bank told me all week long that unless the hold it extended for whatever reason that on the 23rd the hold will expire and that I will have access to my money on the 24th at 8am. Well it's now the 24th past 8am and I just got finished speaking with someone from Huntington Bank corporate office supposedly who just now told me that *** **** has not released the funds yet to pay the check so therefore they couldn't give me a date when my funds will be available. These ******** are stealing my money and at a perfect time on Christmas Eve. You bunch of heartless ********. You wonder why people are going crazy doing what they are doing nowadays is because people are getting treated like this. The TV are stealing my money!!!!

      I am rejecting this response because: 

      Huntington Bank has not reached out to me one single time to try and resolve the issue at hand. I have called them over 7 or 8 times now, each time I call them the only response I get out of them is that they are waiting for ******** **** **** to release the hold they have on the check I deposited into my savings account. So today, I reached out to the person/owner of the company who wrote the check to me. He and I then proceeded to call *** **** to see why they have a hold on the check. I was told by an employee from *** **** told me the exact time, the exact date, the exact location, the exact amount, and the exact check number of the check that I had deposited. She also confirmed that *** DOES NOT have a hold on the check whatsoever as Huntington Bank claims they do. She also explained to me in quite detail that the funds have indeed been removed from the check writers account on December 19th and that the funds were sent over to Huntington Bank on December 19th. So why is my bank, Huntington Bank still telling me that all they are waiting for are for *** to release the funds which were released on December 19th. This is Ludacris, all they are doing is holding onto my money illegally with no berrance and all they continue to do is keep on telling me the same thing over and over and pushing back the date they will release the funds to me. All I am trying to do is simply cash a legitimate check that was written by a very well known and respected local business here to be able to provide for my family. So how in the hell is Huntington Bank legally allowed to keep a hold on my check now for 7 going on 8 days without making the funds available to me. They are stealing my money, which is bluntly obvious and they are getting away with it. The funds are clearly in my account already, what is the issue now, why does my entire account including both my checking and savings accounts have a block on them. For what, simply for trying to cash a legitimate check that was written out to me for a very legitimate reason. No laws were EVER broken, what legality does Huntington Bank have to hold my funds from me the way they are doing and for how long they have been doing it???

      Huntington National Bank failed to process my rent check on 12/1/2022 causing a significant financial lost on my side. I was charged NSF check fee of $25 and December Late Charges of $34 totaling to $59.

      On 12/1/2022, I stepped in Huntington bank branch at **** * ****** ********* *** ********* ** ***** and spoke to the branch manager and the tailor trying to resolve this on normal charnels but I failed. On the same date, I stepped in Chase bank branch at **** ********* **** ********* ** ***** and bank tailor did ensure me that my check was valid and the account listed was a valid account number. Huntington bank does not want to take responsibility for the mistake they made.

      Due to the mistake on Huntington National Bank side, I suffered financial and emotional damage. I lost a lot of time on 12/21/2022 going back and forth between Huntington Bank branch, Chase Bank branch and my leasing office (********** ****** ********) trying to resolve this. Not to mentioned this made me miss a hospital appointment I had in the morning. I had to take pain killers for a a severe headache on that day.

      ATTACHMENTS:
      1. I have attached a Proof of payment on November 23 that shows my check was sent and delivered on time, but also to proof that it was a valid check and account number.

      2. I have attached a Returned Deposited item notice from Huntington National Bank that explains it was unable to locate my account. This can only be caused by someone mistyping the account number because I'm sure the account number is correct. Afterall it have been paying my rent by this method for the past two years and it is all automated by my bank- chase.

      3. I have attached a Copy of the check that I retrieved from my leasing office. It is a valid check and I was able to verify it's validity with a Chase bank branch tailor on 12/21/2022.

      4. I have attached the Final Account Statement from my leasing office showing the charges I had to pay because of the failure of Huntington National Bank.

      Consumer called BBB stating the letter he received from Huntington dated 1.23.23 is asking him to come to the branch with proof of the fees and at that time they will refund the fees incurred pertaining to the two returned checks.  Mr. ***** states he was at the branch previously with the documented proof, but the branch did not make copies. Mr. ***** states he has attached the proof that Huntington is asking for with the complaint he filed with BBB and he feels he should not have to go to the branch in person, as Huntington is able to view the documents through the complaint process.  He states he wants this done and the refund be deposited into his checking account.

      I was told today that my bank accounts were being closed due to risk for Huntington bank. My account had been hacked a few times this year and I have been trying to get that taken care of, but it was not my fault it was done. Then to be told I have to try to hurry and change all my banking information within days for direct deposit and everything to a new bank around the holidays is ridiculous. I would like to keep my account with this company if possible, because before this I never had an issue with HUntington. The fact they did this for no reason is terrible

I have now been charged a ton of fees from companies that I had automatic payments with that I couldn’t change in time. And I am now out all this money.

      I deposited a certified check from a reputable real estate law firm for nearly $202,000 on 12/17/22. When I deposited it at the Lisbon Ohio branch. I was told (and this is on their website as well) that funds deposited on Saturday would be available on Tuesday. I visited the branch Tuesday 12/20/22 and was told the funds were on hold until 12/21/22. I received an email from Huntington stating the hold was released and funds from the referenced check were available. I checked my account via their app and my account reflected the deposit had gone through. I proceeded to pay numerous bills only to find a second hold had been placed on my account and it is showing a negative balance of over -$225,000. I talked to the law firm the check was drafted upon and they said I was not the first person with this issue. They produced evidence that Huntington received the funds on 12/19/22.
      When asked, the customer service agent said I would be responsible for all overdraft fees and that the funds may be available tomorrow or “some time after Christmas “.

      Opened a loan with this bank to purchase a boat. Loan through bank was closed / paid July 16th 2018. Communications to me from the bank stated the lien releases where sent to the state of Nebraska and there was nothing I needed to do. Nov 2022, State of Nebraska DMV (department of motor vehicles) alerted me to lien's still present on the boat. Reached out multiple times to the bank, opened cases, no action. Escalated, the banks mailed me lien releases that where inaccurate. Called 12/20/2022 escalated again was told 18 days to "get the request through the system". The bank is now outside the state statue of 30 days after business is final to release the lien. Still waiting on the lien release.

      I sent this Complaint to notify you that this account (HUNTINGTON-************ ) is reporting inaccurate You need to put in a request to Transunion, Equifax and Experian for this account to be removed from my report. I also provided the exact reasons and PROOF directly from my credit report with details on why this is inaccurate and against my federal credit reporting act (FCRA) RIGHTS.


      How can there be different years and dates listed in the date of last activity and date last reported section? This is the date that stipulates when my account will naturally fall off! This is a clear FCRA violation See ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION

      My purse and Drivers License was stolen on 12/3/22. Huntington Bank was immediately notified via phone call and was notified in person at the Cascade Branch on 12/4/22. The Branch Manager was supposed to place a fraud notification on the account. This did not occur. Between 12/5 and 12/9, the stolen driver's license was used at 4 different Huntington branches to impersonate me. At each location, the thief used my ID and bank card to cash a $3,200 check written to **** *****. Each check then came back as insufficient funds and was debited from my checking and savings accounts. A total of $12,800 was stolen from my accounts. Huntington Bank failed to use multi-factor authentication at any of the 4 transactions. I was never texted, called or emailed to verify the transactions. On the 5th attempt, the thief was questioned at the drive thru and drove off leaving my ID and the uncashed check at the Dorr branch of Huntington Bank. The Bank still failed to get in touch with either me or my husband (it is a joint checking account). I returned to the Cascade branch in person on 12/10/22 and learned that no fraud alert had been placed on the account. I have since filed an affidavit and a investigative report with the bank; the bank has still failed to provide resolution and return of funds as of 12/19/22. This is a total breakdown in internal controls by the bank and it should be investigated.

      I deposited a check into my account for $2500 that was given to me by mother. After the check was written out to her. She is not on my account, so she endorsed the check over to me to deposit the check into my Huntington account. This was money given from my grandfather's business. We signed all the paperwork to prove it wasn't fraud and the money is still being held by the bank and no one will tell us why. The paperwork was even notarized by the notary at the bank **** *****. Huntington has also closed out my bank account because of fraud after the check was approved and stayed in the bank for two weeks and then taking out of the account without any notice, warning or phone call. They say with no proof of fraud because my grandfather has gone to the bank as well to sign paperwork and now the bank is stating that no paperwork was even signed. I was called by *** at the Huntington National Bank at ***** **** *** ****** ****** ****** ** ***** on December 9, 2022, to come into the bank to reopen my account. When I got there with my mother, *** wouldn't even speak with us and then I was given the run around. The other lady that I did speak to informed me that my accounts would be closed and that they couldn't help me. Here is December 18, 2022, and I still can't get a clear answer to where the money is or why they will send the monies back to my grandfather's account. I called to speak to the branch manager there, she stated to me that couldn't help me with my situation because *** is the one, I needed to speak to. She wouldn't even help me. At this time, I really feel discriminated against because I am black because I haven’t given these people any reason to ever question my transaction. I have done everything they asked me to do to prove it wasn’t fraud. And no one is even giving me an answer to any of my questions. I would really like Huntington National Bank to give me and my mother the monies that were provided to us for our loved one’s funeral.

      I have foreign currency mainly afghanistan afghani currency and was adviced if i opened a huntington bank account I would be able to exchange it so I did so. Then was told I had to wait two weeks to exchange it so I did then the lady said she didn't know why but it wasn't allowing her to put it in so I waited and contacted Huntington on phone and spoke to supervisor and was adviced to go into the branch and if they had issues to remember *** *. When i did and told them the person then called someone at *** * which is people that actually help with exchange for huntington they told them system was down could I come back. I waited and came back same thing person called *** * for help and they are now saying they no longer except afghanistan currency and banker told them it's on their website that they do it just wasn't allowing her to put an amount in and he said not anymore. They are still saying on their page they allow foreign currency with afghanistan on the list. I have asked them to close this account 3 times now and all 3 times told they would and yet they haven't and now charging monthly maintance fee.

      On 11/10/2022 I had $300 deposited into my account or thought was my account. I got numbers swapped on direct deposit forms. My account no is ****. So I called and was told that money would be kicked back to employer since my name wasn't on account. Well it wasn't kicked back and was deposited in wrong account. 6 weeks later after many phone calls and vist to local branch they say the only way to get money back is to have approval of persons account it went into which she will not return phone calls or emails I wonder why!! Other option was to have employer credit the deposit back to them, but since they took so long deciding what I could do they can not do that, because they use a third party for thier payroll and they only have a short window time to do this. Very unhappy with this situation they let the depoist go though when they said it wouldn't and are not making it right.
